CSM 3.3.1: Big database

Hello

is it possible to reduce a CSM 3.3.1 Database?

I have a GB 3 DB and it poses problem for replication

Thanks for your help

You can do is go in tools > admin CSM. Under archived, you can go and delete the archives of all your devices and only let the last 10 for example.

Which should reduce significantly the disc.

I hope it helps.

    How can suggest us a new DBA ECO certification for very large databases?

    This web site, or what phone number can call us to suggest the creation of a certification of VLDB ECO.

    The most important databases that I've ever worked with barely more than 1 trillion bytes.

    Some people told me that the results to be a DBA change completely when you have a VERY BIG DATABASE.

    I could guess that maybe some of the following topics in the configuration can be on it,

    * Partitioning

    * parallel

    * more large block size - MAS vs. OLTP

    * etc.

    Where I could send a recommendation?

    Thank you Roger

    This forum is probably your best choice, Brandye would be one of the contacts I would use to make such a request.  If you are really interested in this, I would be further demand more.  Specifically, most Oracle certifications available to have a corresponding course available in the OU. If you want to create a new certification, one of the most compelling arguments would be to suggest a certification that tests information for which there are already one or more courses.  Looking at the current offerings of courses 12 c, the following two seem to come more close to what you ask for:

    Database Oracle 12 c: implement partitioning Ed 1

    Parallel processing in Oracle Database 12 c Ed 1

    These areas are covered somewhat in 1Z0 - 117.  You will need to make a case for a certification that hit different areas of knowledge.  Looking at the course for both subjects, partitioning has more that are not covered in-depth on 117.  However, it is supposed to be a 12 c Data Warehousing expertise certification coming out this year that may require a partitioning good knowledge.

  • Illustrator + database?... How to do

    Hello, I need to launch a project of business card with Illustrator, is the first time that I have to work with variables and as long as I have a big database with names and a lot of info to add that I think that the best thing to do would be to connect them together, but I have no idea how do. I know I have to work with an xml and a scrip...

    Can someone help me with this?
    An explanation for dummis... Thank you very much!

    Vale

    do a google search for the term: illustrator "data driven graphics".

    It should return the tutorials like this one: http://www.adobe.com/uk/designcenter/illustrator/articles/ill10datadrvn.html

    Indeed, the data sets are the answer.

    not as good as the installation of indesign data merge, which is what I would like to use instead.

  • Spend my DB no Archive Log Mode 11 g

    I have a big database running on release of oracle 11g 2 with a large number of users and huge daily transactions running in archivelog mode, I will change the mode of the database in any mode of journal archive

    the following steps: -.

    SQL > shutdown immediate

    SQL > startup mount

    SQL > alter database noarchivelog;

    SQL > alter database open;

    is there a risk to do

    can the database after change in noarchivelog mode, could not be opened?

    What are the reserves to take before doing this work?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

    I think that you must not need change size of db recovery file destination.
    You must use the parameter log_archive_dest_n with LOCATION, witch's location is your destination to archive.
    Log_archive_dest_1 default value is use_db_recovery_file_dest, you must change this value.

    If you do not need to archive newspapers, then you can remove all the recovery logs archived after backup with RMAN.

      RMAN> backup database plus archivelog delet all  input;

  • Best way to clone db

    Hi all

    I have a simple question about clone DB.

    I have a big database of production (to 5). I need to clone the database for the test on the second server environment.

    I'm thinking about using rma dual. All have two server can read and write to the same file system

    Oracle is 11 2.0.2 version and database using asm

    Can I create a new instance of cars on the second server and use it to restore db? How? Normally I restore on a single instance and after create DB and service for rac...
    Do you have a tech for this doc?

    Concerning
    Giovanni

    (1) you can take BACKUP of SOURCE database and use RMAN DUPLICATE DATABASE (or) RESTORATION method
    as you have a file system shared between SOUREC and TARGET servers

    (2) you can use RMAN DUPLICATE FROM ACTIVE DATABASE

    (3) once, I used the CP ASMCMD command to copy the data directly to the TARGET DSO and recovered it
    (it worked even our SOURCE database is running)

    -Thank you

  • License costs?... Enterprise, R (but no Oracle Advanced Analytics)

    We use Studio R and R, and it's understandable, it does not handle large sets of data very well.

    Since R is open source and free, I was wondering that if Oracle Enterprise R was also free, but I see this article of PC World (http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/249509/oracle_stakes_claim_in_r_with_advanced_analytics_launch.html) that seems to indicate that it is not.

    Is anyone able to confirm pricing on this? We don't have (and don't want) the Oracle Advanced Analytics software (with Data Mining, Hadoop, etc.). We are looking just to get on the company R. Is it possible (without cost?)

    OK - R Oracle Distribution is packaged with Oracle Linux and comes with the Big database server. Distribution R Oracle is installed on the server of database in integrated support R run using Oracle Enterprise R. Oracle supports Oracle R customer distribution Oracle Enterprise R and Big Data Appliance. Improvements are planned for the Distribution of R Oracle, so stay tuned for more information.

  • ASM-cloning on platforms

    Hello

    We are on 10.2.0.4 and allows us to manage ASM storage
    Now clone us usually HPUX-> Hp UX by copying groups of disks in the disk of destination groups, modify the ASM parameter to scan starts again and set up the target database.
    Now, we clone a big database on Linux.
    If I followed the same process that is just to copy the disks and tries to appear on linux, it'll work?
    ASM is independent of the underlying operating system?

    Thank you

    Hello
    It is not on ASM, no matter what file system you use you must carry (convert) an entire a database or tablespace defined on another platform.
    It's the same when you copy files data of normal files in HP - UX, Linux... the data file is copied without a problem, but you will not be able to use because the Oracle Dictionary/binaires is not designed for this platform.

    Always when you change platform, you must run cross-platform data transport.
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmxplat.htm

    If you want to understand why, I suggest that search you in google on "endianness".
    Need to convert data files Oracle with endian format identical or different to different platform.
    If I'm not mistaken, HP - UX is big endian and Linux is Litte Endian.
    That is to say you must use the transportable tablespace, because the portable database is supported only in the same endian format, because the SYSTEM TABLESPACE cannot be converted using different endian format.

    See this example:
    http://levipereira.WordPress.com/2011/01/04/Oracle-database-cross-platform-migration-to-AIX/

    Hope this helps,

  • Dependencies of variables.

    Hey everybody,

    I have a big database, is there a way that I can search all the tables that have this variable in PLSQL?

    Thank you and best regards.

    Just query user_tab_columns

    select table_name from user_tab_columns where column_name = 'CARS'

  • change of char(10), vchar (10)...

    Hey people, I use oracle 10g, I have a big, big, big database. At the time, the database has been defined as char (10). This means that if the variable is size 10 the rest will be completed with the empty space. So, I have a solution to this database of million tables. I just have to get the tank type varchar our make a plate for every request that is made. These are my two solutions.
    But I don't know what are the benefits of one and the other. And I don't know how to make tables that are already implemented as char. Because the time of treatment, it will be enourmos and if I just move from char to varchar, it will not give a big mistake?

    Thank you.

    everytme if someone filed an application if they do not all have the carachter 10, it won't work.

    No, you must use a variable of type char (10) and to use in your query.

    something like that

    select * from tableA where cars = :a

    Here: one is a variable binding. So when you use this query in a PL/SQL or any other client to define the variable as char (10) and store the value. You will have no problem.

  • How to do a complete Import/Export own

    Hi everyone;

    I want to know how to do a full export of an instance 9i database to another 9i?
    Can I use the IMP? and with what options?

    For information, it's a very big database:
    SQL> select SUM(BYTES)/1024/1024 from dba_data_files;

    SUM(BYTES)/1024/1024
    --------------------
                   11000
    I'm a newbie in the administration... Please help me!
    Thank you for reading, what concerns them.

    Export: Release 8.0.6.3.0

    You should use customer exp 9i export the 9i database. It seems that you use Export: release of 8.0.6.3.0.

    Try exporting using 9i exp utility to start the export.

    Second question:
    Before you import the data, I have to delete all schemas in the destination database. How can I do this cleanly?

    Drop the schemas you want to import the export dump. Proceed with the import.

  • CSM 4.4 database

    Hello

    I'll install CSM 4.4 in VMware ESXi 5.0. Database administrator suggest install the database of the CSM in the other database server, my question is if it is possible, I can't finf any document on this subject.

    Thanks for the help.

    The Sybase database needs to be on the same servers as the rest of the MSC. It does usually not a lot of space in itself. for large facilities (> 50 managed deives) there are a few recommendations published for tunig PB here.

    The main user of the space is the event log. Optionally, define to be archived on a server separate for banks to base event and extended. See the instructions here.

  • Table VERY BIG SQL database recovery

    Hello;

    I'm recovering a very large SQL table, the table is entrys (rows) about 1.2million and is growing every day. I have no problem of recovering data of normal size of approximately 25 000 entries, but when I try to access the database it blocks my Labview and generates an error message "LABVIEW: MEMORY IS FULL. VI "SQL Read.vi" was arrested in the unknown, to a call to "Rec Fetch Recordset Data (R) .vi", anyone came across this problem or heard of this? If Yes is it possible around it without cutting it to the top of the original database table?

    Thank you
    Martin L.

    The criteria include you in a query, the fewer results are returned.

    something like "SELECT card_id FROM table WHERE Serial_number = 123" would return one of the results of the table of the identity card

  • Database very big.

    Hi I need to purge the data. Our database is up to 330gig. Is there some sort of Protocol to do this for vfoglight 6.7?

    Thank you

    Scott

    This is controlled by your settings of data retention, which have a very wide range of options.

    Check on the administration server - servers-> data management, at the top of the screen, there are some simple global settings.  By default, the data are kept in 100 years.

    Also remember that the real data purging is something that occurs at the end of a several-step process and is controlled by a schedule of Maintenance of database for off-peak hours.

  • How can make us big data from one database to another db

    Hi all

    I have 540,00,000 records in a table. Use dblink when I try to extract data in the database for this table in another table to it-error. Is someone can you please tell me how I can extract data from table A in db1 that has 540,00,000 records in table A which is located in db2 and is empty.

    Kind regards

    Amrit

    You can also consider an insert in direct path, possibly with active parallel.

    Insert / * + append * / in...

  • Too big for the grouped SQL 2 K 8 Express Database?

    I'm plodding through the vCenter Server 5.1 Upgrade Guide, all the time, assuming that I didn't need to worry about installing a complete SQL DB for 5.1, and I come across this Page 51:

    > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express: group database that you can use for small deployments of virtual hosts up to 5 and 50 machines.

    I have 3 guests and 36 VMs.  These 36 VMs, about 25 are critical.  We you will develop, but we should be good for another year or more.

    Question1: should I worry about the time, licenses, etc. to create a complete SQL DB for vCenter 5.1 upgrade?

    Question2: is SQL 2 K 8 R2 Express come with the file .iso image for the upgrade to vCenter and just install/upgrade it first?

    Ty

    -lc

    Answer 1: You can go with the Express for your deployment. In fact, the limitation is a soft and only has an impact on the size of DB stored by vCenter (R2 Express now have a 10 GB limit size of DB) and performance. You CAN have more than 50 virtual machines / 5 ESX, but if you have a problem with your vCenter service (i.e. vCenter start fail, slow performance when you access the inventory, etc.), VMware will not support you in this case. Virtual machines will not be affected by this.

    Answer 2: Yes, SQL Express are delivered on the installation of VC. He moved with vCenter (you can choose during installation).
