Csrss.exe high disk activity
Csrss.exe is constantly reading e/s. You can hear the churning of disk as well as to see the activity with the Task Manager. I use Windows 7 64. I don't know what he thinks, he must do it, but I just want to stop it. If she did something like disk indexing, if the price is the constant disk activity then I have indexed disk.
If anyone knows how I can stop this thing I would appreciate it.

How can I stop high disk activity HARD and blocking of the machine
At startup, the machine takes 2 to 3 minutes before the login screen is available, with HDD coming out of the machine all the time. The Office takes 1.5 minutes to load up. Then quite randomly and especially if I have access to Internet, the HARD drive starts screaming from afar and I get any program I use, indicate "not responding". Similarly, logging on Internet and then check in a site and outside, Yahoo shows "not responding" then comes good, however at that time that the HARD drive is once more trying to get out of the machine with the blocking of the entire system. This condition may last between 1 and 2 hours.
I can't get out of the Internet or Vista and my only recourse is to hold down the button "power on" for 5 seconds, stop the machine. The alternative is to turn the machine on and leave it alone for a few hours, but it is still not guaranteed the high activity of the HARD drive will be start at random. At the time of blocking, the CPU is variable between 1 and 10% with 4 GB of ram running at 96% to 100%.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2), on an AMD Athlon (TM) 64 x 2 processor Dual core 5000 + 2.60 GHz, Medion machine with 4.0 GB Ram and 32-bit operating system. The machine is a PC MT7 MED MT469G. The boot drive (C: /) is about 350 GB, with a second backup drive (D: /) about 100 GB and a Data partition (E: /) drive on 400 Gb. I.e. two 350 and 500 GB drives.
The machine becomes practically unusable and I can't stop this frenzied action of HARD drive. I have to be to destroy the HARD drive whenever I turn on. I tried the advice from the experts by disabling regular departures, stopping at various folders, to nothing does not.
I came through all products Windows 95Windows with XP and 2000 and when I bought this computer Medion, with Vista, I have never experience so much time lost to fight with a machine with this huge HARD drive activity and constant locking machine.
I understand, sites that Windows 7 is pretty much the same, God forbid, I will put on my wife's machine and is the reason why I have not upgraded.
Help! Please, how can I get out of this mess?

I'm not sure I understand your disk configuration. You have two physical drives with drive non-system, divided into two partitions?
All other programs are running when this happens outside of the browser?
I would start by Process Explorer to identify the process generating the IO.
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653
On the file menu, click 'Show details for all processes', and then on the view menu, select the columns to activity e/s of the shoe.
While you are in the view menu, click on "System information" and check how your 4 GB 32-bit Vista can see. It is normally about 3 GB but can be much less with some video cards.
There is more information on the use of Process Explorer here:
You can also use the built in by typing perfmon performance monitor in the box "Search" in the Start Menu.
http://Channel9.msdn.com/events/TechEd/Australia/Tech-Ed-Australia-2011/SVR306
This should help you identify files that are used.
For a more detailed study, you must use Windows Performance Toolkit:
http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/performance/cc825801
http://Channel9.msdn.com/events/build/BUILD2011/HW-59T
Download here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/dlx/en-us/listdetailsview.aspx?FamilyID=6b6c21d2-2006-4afa-9702-529fa782d63b and select the components you need.
There is a possibility of a hardware problem or the disc is not not in AHCI mode.
I would also look at the antivirus you are using.

Disk activity high start - CBS newspaper persist + DataStore.edb
I am facing a problem with same high disk activity during each boot, for several minutes.
I used the resource monitor to see what is happening and it whenever two points at the top of the list sorted in order descending of the column Total (B/s):
- DataStore.edb . in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore, currently 1.13 GB in size.
- CbsPersist_DateTime.log in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS, several files, on 0.5 GB - 4 GB in size.
I have several questions:
- Why these files do not have the high disk activity even if no updates have been installed until the computer has been restarted?
- Y at - there no way how to limit the disk activity caused by the use of the DataStore.edb file above other than disabling updates (which are recommended to be activated) or do something with the treating process of updates?
- Is it safe and this will help if I delete the contents of the folder C:\Windows\Logs\CBS?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions. I have Windows 7 and it's the one big question I have.

Why csrss.exe freezes all other programs that are running when it is active?
I don't know what to say here. I have an ASUS Intel duo Core Windows Vista OS and when I read the e-mail or watching Facebook, play WoW or just generally surf on the internet and the active process other programs freeze and I have to restart the program.
I've read several channels that talk about the possibility of malware, and I have a current copy of Norton Antivirus and Malwarebytes, more I ran the quick scan of MRT and none of these show that I have a malware.
Any suggestions?
What do you mean by activation of csrss.exe? What program you restart?
Csrss.exe is responsible for the separation and process and thread creation. I think that all activity on his part would be a symptom rather than the cause of the problem you are experiencing.
This name has been used by malware to disguise himself. You can check if this copy is the real version of Microsoft looking where he was charged with the Task Manager. Go to view > select columns, look for the command line entry. It will show as C:\Windows\System32\csrss.exe if this is the true copy of Microsoft. Another thing would be malware.
You can try to use the clean boot to diagnose the cause of the problem:

Csrss.exe pic 100% CPU for Win 2003 Server
Hello
Recently, I've migrated a physical server to virtual (Server 2003 R2 Std). After that, I see high utilization of the processor in the csrss.exe process.
I tried to check in via Process Explorer. Csrss.exe displays as much CPU being picked up in Process Explorer as it does in the Task Manager window.
I tried the below, without a bit of luck.
(1) complete analysis of Ran. No Virus found.
(2) removed corrupt profiles (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555021/en-us)Sometimes, when I have connection I noticed my profile size is 4 GB.
You guys can suggest me any solution to workaround to fix high CPU usage.
The migrated VM is single processor
Kind regards

I have a virus in my system of csrss.exe
I have two systems of csrss.exe on my computer. I know that one is a viruse and who he is. can someone tell me hoe to remove it.
Thanks in advance.
I recommend that you let your virus scanner check your computer infections rather worry that you are not familiar with the system files.
Suggest that you first spread malware as the cause of the problem by following these steps:
I. - delete your temporary files
Clean the system (compensation to all temp/tmp folders and included all the content offline, the tif browser, delete the cookies of compensation.)
http://winhelp2002.MVPs.org/delcache.htm>
Click Start > all programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
II. - have your system scanned as a result of security/antivirus installed.
III. - run this tool from Kaspersky: how to remove malware belonging to the family of Rootkit. Win32.TDSShttp://support.Kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?QID=208280684>
IV. - download, install, update and run both of these tools to a-squared free scans:A very good antimalware app is SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM).
It is recommended to use the intelligent quick scan regularly, and complete analysis on a longer frequency - weekly, monthly - or only when something is found or you have a reason to suspect

Csrss.exe is a standard part of Windows, and the Task Manager cannot display their properties.
To make sure that they are legitimate Windows programs, you can examine them with the free program from Windows Sysinternals Process Explorer :
Download ProcessExplorer.zip from the link I gave.
Right-click and unzip the file.
Right click on the extracted Procexp.exe file.
Click run as administrator .
Make a right click Csrss.exe or winlogon.exe in the process list.
Click on Properties .
Click the Image tab.
Click on the check button.
It should show that the file is loaded from the directory C:\Windows\System32\ and tell (checked) Microsoft Windows .

Original title: regsvr.exe - disc no.
Hello
I get an error message whenever I insert my pen drive or memory card in my laptop. The error message is "regsvr.exe - no disk there is no disk in the drive." Insert a disk in the drive\Device\Harddisk1\DR1. There are only three options - Cancel, Try Again and continue. None of them works. I have to manually stop the system to get rid of it. Please help me get rid of this error message for always. Your response to this regard will be highly appreciated. Cordially Sashwat
Hello, Sashwat
If possible, test the drive in another computer and check if you are able to access or not. If this is not the case, the drive may be bad.
If it's a USB card with an SD card reader, rather than a dedicated, flash drive check if the card is recognized and accessible in other drives/devices. Also, check the metal contacts on the card to make sure that nothing is blocking the metal contacts. If the card cannot be read in other devices and contacts are clean, the card is likely bad.
If other devices can access the drive, but not by the card reader, the card reader could be bad.David

Csrss.exe is a knowledge trojen or spyware to invade the PC security
Hi Albert,
Csrss.exe, this is the part of the user mode of the subsystem Win32 (Win32.sys being the kernel-mode portion). CSRSS means client/server run-time Subsystem and is an essential subsystem that must run continuously. CSRSS is responsible for console windows, creating or deleting threads, and some parts of the 16-bit virtual MS-DOS environment.
Winlogon.exe is the part of Windows Login subsystem. This process is responsible for managing the security key sequence (by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete before you see the logon box), loading of user profiles, the locking system when a screensaver is running and check the activation key for the operating system.
I suggest you to run the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if there is no virus.
Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Let us know the status of the issue.
