CTRL + click / SHIFT + click does not not on the specific Web site

I'm an admin for this blog site: http://undividedblog.org.uk/

If you use Firefox, I discovered that, for almost all of the links on the site above, perform a CTRL + click or a SHIFT + click the link does not open the link in a new tab or window, but on the contrary is no nothing that either.

I tested a 22.0 Firefox running on two separate computers, and a Firefox running 16.0.2, and machines/versions behave exactly the same way, i.e. CTRL + click and SHIFT + click the links does nothing.

By clicking normal on the links behave as expected, navigate to the location of the link. Using the right click > open link in a new tab, or right click > open the link in a new window works fine too.

I tried CTRL + click and SHIFT + click on the site above using the two Chrome and IE, and they work fine. So I've narrowed the issue down to be something to do with the way Firefox processes the HTML of the site. Firefox on both machines deals very well with links on other sites by doing a CTRL + click or SHIFT + click. but not on this specific site.

Can someone help me to find out why this is happening? Why is that a problem on Firefox? What is the specific site that Firefox has issues with?

Thanks long before any wisdom or experience that you can lend to it. She was driving me crazy, as I have always used Firefox and I rely heavily on CTRL/SHIFT + click, especially when doing admin stuff.

Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

  • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

Thank you.

  • Update to Firefox 8, falls down and does not connect to a Web site, what do I do?

    Before I updated, I could open, load a website quickly and we were on our way. However, I opened it and most of the time it HANGS after that click on a bookmark or type a site.

    Even when it does not crash, it does not load a Web site. I try another browser and load very well the network Web site is NOT the issue.

    I uninstalled the new Firefox 8 and returned to 7.0. I'm happy for the moment, but this problem is worrisome.

  • I installed the latest version of Firefox and it does not connect to any Web site. I had no problem with the previous version, I used.

    Can not connect to any Web site.

    texhusky Hello, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox. If please delete all the rules of the program for firefox to your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

  • Sound does not work for some Web sites

    Hello

    I can't listen to music on the following Web sites:

    http://www.cede.ch/en/music/?branch_sub=1 & View = detail & ID = 896510 & Branch = 1
    http://estastonne.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-Odeon-2011

    I use the first a lot, which is really annoying. I've already looked and I think that the problem has to do with firefox. I have a linux system. When I try to play music, I see the time meter that works perfectly, the only problem is: I have no sound. If I install firefox 25, I have no problem. With firefox 26 or 27 of firefox it does not work. With the same configuration (plugins for example) if I switch to firefox 25, all right. I tried clearing the cache, but it does not help. I have no idea more.

    If anyone has an idea that would be great!

    Thank you

    This looks like a problem with the player player of the second site.

    I don't know what flavor of Linux, this thread is running, but there is a problem with GSStreamer around the time 25-27 that has been activated.

    I'm looking into this site and see player video javascript. The GSStreamer is used only with html5 and h.264 and others have their own codec.

    After some research on this second site, its an mp3 file. It's called TralbumData which is a hack for streaming music bandcamp. They use the MP3 format to 128 for data flow. http://Bandcamp.com/help/audio_basics There is also no volume control.

    So to answer your question, it seems to have been something that has stopped working. Please make sure that your media player is updated if you update to version 27.

    The bug for this specific page is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=921714 which recommend to disable media.gstreamer.enabled, in the subject: config as well.

    That should solve the problem!

  • Firefox opens but does not open links or Web sites

    Basically, fire fox will open to the home page and that's all. If I type in the search bar, or participate in success and link/navigation bar, nothing will happen. By clicking on a bookmark or a link from the history won't do anything. FIrefox does not. Using another browser gets the results of work, so my internet isn't the problem.

    I went back to firefox 3 to get things working again. I tried to re - install firefox 18 again and everything installs successfully but nothing works.

    So, any help would be appreciated.

    Please update to Firefox 18, and then reset. Refresh Firefox – reset settings and Add-ons . In addition, you use a proxy?

  • Hotmail or Live does not work with our Web site.

    On our website we have provisions for a person to click on a link to ask a question to the Lister or send page to a friend.  It works it the receiver has an AOL, Yahoo or based Web site address.  However, it will not work if they have a Hotmail or Live email account.  It is not practical for us to ask all our customers to set up a Yahoo account just for our Web site.  We contacted our server IP address and they are not able to find a reason that it does not work.  Email of people going to our Qued IPs to send, but just stay there.

  • Flash video streamin does not work on some Web sites.

    The content Flash streaming on some websites began to malfunction. Instead of content, all I get is a white box. Not even the interface of the video player doesn't load. This isn't a problem on all sites. YouTube works fine, but AMC.com does not work. Hulu works great, but CWTV.com does not work. It is a cross browser problem. I have updated the Flash Player and pretty much everything but I still have this problem. Help, please.

    figured it out. It was a Global setting in flash that clicked.

  • Firefox does not work on some Web sites

    I continually run into sites that don't work well with Firefox. I tend to think, because of FF high-speed evolution that he brings to the itself, but nevertheless, it's boring. The sites all say 'use Chrome' as a solution, and most of the time, it works. The thing is, I don't like Chrome. I have FF set in place as I want. It's my browser of choice, despite the fact that he lost for each day of Chrome users. I don't think I'll ever pass, but I really need to work on a regular basis. I'll have to use the portable version now because the desktop version works for me more. After the last update, Flash sites don't load not half the time. They also work in Chrome.

    This time, it's redgage.com. Most of the functionality works only if I use the right click and open in a new tab. I tried safe mode.

    What is the solution to this? I don't have time to make adjustments to the program and get in here to get the answers and everyone says that they have no problems. SERIOUSLY? This is not what say all my friends who have switched to Chrome. I feel I'm losing my right arm.

    Yes, all the links on RedGage are broken. To open in the same tab, you must drag and drop it on the address bar.

    But I think it's their fault. In the browser Console:

    13:46:52.262 ReferenceError: event is not defined MainViewModel.js

    Looks like a rookie mistake in this script:

     self.trigger = function (modelView, evt) {
       var target;
       util.hidePopup();

       if (event.ctrlKey || event.metaKey || event.which == 2) {
         return true;
       }

       if (evt.preventDefault) {
         evt.preventDefault();
         target = $(evt.target);
       } else
         target = $(evt);

       var url = target && $(target).closest('a').attr('href') || $('.filter li.active a').attr('href');
       if (url)
         self.do_load_url(url);
       return false;
     };

    In the bold line, 'event' is a typo and should be "TTE". Maybe if tell you them on this subject they will fix it. Although other browsers work this way.

  • Connection link does not appear on a Web site

    I am running Win7pro and 35 of Firefox.
    I am able to access the history channel- History.comsite, but the 'full video access' link. 'Full video access' is a link to connect you with your particular TV provider that allows you to watch all the episodes available. I've confirmed that Flash is active and up to date. I confirmed that Java is active and up to date. I've deleted all the history, cache and cookies. Third-party cookies are allowed. History.com is not listed as an exception. I also deleted the cookies.sqlite in my profile. The connection link still does not appear.
    Other information - I am able to access this Web site, including the 'video full access' link on my other computer Win7 using Firefox 35.
    History.com support tells me that the problem is on my computer not on their Web site.
    Can anyone suggest what could be the problem?

  • Firefox does not connect to any Web site, but other browsers will.

    When I get something in the URL- google.com, localhost, http://127.0.0.1/ one bar the IP address, there is a fraction of a second flash, then the bar becomes empty and nothing has changed. It seems that Firefox is not even try to connect to the internet.

    Yesterday, everything was fine when I was running FF on Windows 7. After the upgrade to Windows Pro 8, Firefox has failed. I've updated for Windows 8.1, hoping for the best, but it's the same problem.

    I've walked by the firewall program, several times (the only race is the built-in Windows Firewall). Finally, I uninstalled Firefox, including all my settings, custom and reinstalled from scratch, twice. And even this version pure and clean Firefox does not connect to the internet.

    I am a computer web developer and would be happy to look at the log files or run a tool (Fiddler?) to see what happens at a low level, if I only knew where to look.

    john99, thanks for the links. I went through all (again), one by one. The last link kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic showed me what helped. I've renamed "firefox.exe" to "firefox1.exe" and was able to use firefox.

    It made me suspect the firewall or malicious software. I ran a Malwarebytes full scan, zero problems detected. I have pored on the entries of windows firewall, the "Windows Firewall with advanced security" view and also the simple control panel view. The only mention of Firefox is that I continue to add and remove to allow firefox through.

    Here I knew what was going on, but for now, I can at least use firefox. How frustrating!

  • Does not on the production web server

    With the help of DW, I created a simple flash slideshow.  It works very well in the test, but when I move the page, photos and files to the production server, it does not show.  The first time I tested it on the test server, a message came and said it was installing something.  I think that the web server must have also need this installed but I do not know what it was that installed DW.  Can someone tell me if there is a requirement that I need to install on the web server production or what could be the problem here?

    Like Paula, for best results in these forums, always post a Pointant URL to your live page so we can check for code errors, the paths of files, missing files, CSS, etc...

    In the meantime, things to check:

    1. You have download all files load of server, including Scripts, SWF file, etc.?
    2. In HTML code mode, you see the paths to the files on your hard drive?  Example: file:///C:MyDocuments/...
    3. Your server does support Flash and Shockwave MIME?  Ask your host if you do not know.
