CUCM Rehost license

Hello all, I searched this topic but have not yet found, if I appreciate all the help. Here's the rundown:

I changed the NTP server to my CUCM (he has been "spamming" of the error log). I have not implemented the system and didn't license VMWare was like that, then of course, my license is entered 30-day grace mode. I got a license file sent to me, but when I try to download, it tells me it's the same license file that we already have and I can't set it up. What Miss me? I'm talking back with the license person who gave me the license, but I hope that I didn't ask for the wrong thing. Any help would be appreciated, I wasn't the first person who would take care of this system, but now it is on my lap! I intend to use this experience to work on obtaining certificates, but I'm still a beginner.

Thank you!

Hello

Just to add a note to the good advice of friends Terry & Aman (+ 5 each!)

As noted Terry passes along this Bug ID to the TAC engineer (note the number of Support requests = 210);

CLI file delete license does not remove DB entered licenseinfo

Symptom:
Entries in the DB are not deleted after removing the license file via the cli command
deleting file license

Conditions:
This problem occurs when there is only a license file uploaded to the server
and the user removes the license file

Workaround solution:
user must delete the corresponding entries of the DB in the licenseinfo table.
To do this, TAC should be contacted (e).

Notice the CUT also will document this issue and declare the CUP does not support valid
withdrawal of licence through the CLI command. The only time the user must
delete the license file is that a Publisher rehost is executed and the original
license file becomes invalid. users must download a new license file,
Use this cli command to remove the invalid license file, and then restart the license
Manager.

Other Description of the problem:
This problem was introduced in Version 8.5 only. Older versions are not affected by this bug. For all versions License Manager must be restarted after any changes to the system files for the update database.

  • How rehost licenses of one WLC2504 to another?

    Hi people,

I can not rehost one 2504 at the other licenses. first of all, I can't find the button/link mentioned in configuration gude and secondly - when I try to use some similair, nothing happens.

does anyone know where button\link of "look up a license under manage licenses" located exactly in the portal of licenses when rehosting licenses? I'm sure that the screenshots and instructions contained in the configurations of configuration guide. here what I see:

Here, which is in the configuration guide:

here what I try to do:

then I insert WLC .lic file:

    and then I see this:

by clicking on the 'next' button gives me a little short of 'treatment' window and then nothing. I'm not sure I do it correctly, but I tried.

based on information from configuration guide I did support I can rehost licenses myself. is this always true?

I have not tried on a 2504, but it worked on a 5508.  All I can say is call TAC and make them rehost license.

  • AnyConnect Premium - Rehost license

    Hello

I´d would like to know how the license Premium Anyconnect rehost. Is this possible?

I mean, I have 10 license on my ASA and now I´d to put it on an other ASA.

    How to do this?

    Kind regards.

Sorry but what you ask is available in the case of a number of RMA (Return Material Authorization) of a failed unit. The reasoning is that the old unit will not 'license' for what is already.

If you are the old unit and rating upgrade - tell to a 5500 to 5500 - Series X - you may be able to get your manager to bring some relief from cost under the technology transfer program, but which differs from the rehosting license.

  • Will be CUCM 8.6 continue to work between the change of license MAC and download rehosted license?

    Hi all

I'll change a sensitive parameter of CUCM 8.6 and that will trigger a recalculation of the MAC license. Now, I would like to know if anyone knows weather and all has how long will continue to work until I have download the new license rehosted. Thanks in advance.

You have a grace period of 30 days to download the new license when you do this.

  • Rehost licenses of ELM of connection of the unit to the server CUCM PLM

    Hi all

I just finished a CUCM migration / MCS 8.0.3 upgrade to UCS 10.5.1 using PCD. I will now upgrade my 9.1.2 Server stand-alone connection of the unit to the 10.5.1 version tomorrow night. My question is about licensing. When I upgraded version 9.1.2 connection unit I decided to re co ELM since my CUCM cluster was still on version 8.0. Now that I have improved my CUCM cluster, I have two license servers - PLM for Call Manager and ELM for the connection of the unit. I was advised to move the licenses of connection of the unit to PLM, but I don't know how to do it. I have already contacted Cisco licenses and they tell me that everything is ready to go, but they have not told me HOW to do it (I know they are probably deluged with requests).

Can someone point me to a link or describe briefly the process please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Lisa

You probably didn't clearly explain what you wanted to do, he will be re - host licenses of a PLM to one another as before PLM with the MAC addresses of license.

  • Rehost license of 6140 to 6296

Can I use the tool to transfer license of Cisco to rehost 6140 licenses to 6296 s new? Customer buys 6296 s new to replace their 6140 s which are fully licensed. Can we use the license transfer tool that is available to the www.cisco.com/go/license to transfer port licenses?

    Jeremy,

I confirmed that the licenses are not transferable.  The only time allow us the transfer is a replacement (RMA).  Platforms, you will need to purchase new licenses, unfortunately...

  • Unity connection Rehost license

Our unit login server has been uninstalled, deleted the ESXi and then installed again last week. After installation I have synced the new connection of the unit with the same instance of connection of the unit to ELM's old product (like new unit connection username/password is the same as the old). However the MAC license must have changed. Do I have to re - host license in this case?

NOTE: Our ELM with CUCM. Only the server connection unit is removed and reinstalled. But unity connection not removed bodies product ELM and its synchronization successfully with the same credentials of old.

    Hello

There is no concept of license MAC in ELM/PLM.

  • Cisco Security Manager license key

    Hello

We have installed in the Cisco Security Manager version 3.3.1 years back and now want reinstalled on the other server, but do not know the license key.

Please guide how we can find the license key.

    Thank you

You should be able to go on the Cisco license management portal and click on view existing licenses for licenses that are related to your CCE identifier:

    https://Tools.Cisco.com/swift/LicensingUI/QuickStart

You can even use the wizard to transfer the license on the new server as a Rehost license.

  • Altered in Cisco Unity Connection and cancelled permits NTP server

I use Cisco Unity Connection 8.6.1 and cancelled my Inbox licenses.  A few days ago I noticed that the timestamp of the voicemails was different from what said our CUCM so immediately, I assume that the NTP servers were different.  I was correct and made the change on our server CUC.  I came back to add another user, a few days later and was motivated that I didn't have enough licenses.  After researching on it after the fact, it seems that this happened because the value of NTP server is one of the values that cannot change with the current license, and I'm in a State of the trial for 30 days (24 days left now).  Now my problem is that I don't remember what would replace this NTP server.  How can I fix this problem?

    Hi William,.

I guess the connection of the unit is installed on the virtual machine and therefore license MAC is here

You can get the rehost license by launching the mail to [email protected] / * /

  • Migration to ISE for servers 3395 Cisco Cisco SNS 3495 question

Hi all. I have a client that runs on a Cisco 3395 ISE 1.2 Server and wants to migrate to Cisco SNS 3495 servers due to the end of life is imminent. My question is - this client should buy Cisco SNS 3495 server with a new software license, or may transfer or reuse the license of the software from their 3395 servers?

What will be the best course of action for them. Thank you!!

Ah, sorry, I was referring to the base, and, the apex (or Basic, advanced from previous levels of ISE) - which are licenses only you really need to worry.  If you look at the details to the CCW, you're talking about this topic is the only one where the cost is indicated for the 3495 (except SmartNet if you added).  This is not a point of STOCK you can add/remove.  Basically, you have what you need from a material point of view when you purchase the device.  Can you rehost license software (Basic, plus, apex) once you get the new devices up and running.

  • Port clustering MCU 5300 flexibility

    Hi all

I wonder if we can move licenses to port one of a MCU5300 in cluster to another.

Let's say we buy two MCU5320s, each 5320 has only 10 licenses and their cluster.

(Of course, it's cheaper to buy a MCU5320 with 20 licenses).

In this case, if a MCU fails, is it possible to withdraw the licenses of MCU has failed and install to another?

(Just like a supervisor do MSE8500 blade.)

I couldn't find these descriotions on all documents, so I guess that it is not possible...

    Best Regads,

    Kotaro Hashimoto

    Hi Kotaro,

Unfortunately, this is not possible. With the 5300 series, assign you the license on each MCU, the license is considered individually, even if you have two microcontrollers in a cluster. Therefore, you cannot take off a MCU licenses and put them in another.

To move the licenses with the 5300 series, you would need to rehost license, and, as far as I am aware, Cisco actualisezles only the license when the device is replaced by RMA, or when you upgrade (I think there are expectations, but not in your case).

  • CUCM licenses BASIC vs. essential

    Hi all

There's a CUCM 9.1.2 with the ELM license server.

We received a warning of license for essential licenses that I don't understand.

    See attached photos:

    CUCM report shows license_usage_report_cucm.jpg.

license_usage_elm_server.jpg illustrates the use of the ELM.

ELM generates a warning of license for 1 license key.

ELM how the use of licenses?

The CUCM are 39 ports ATA configured and 39 users who have need of issuing base for example remote Destination profiles.

But the installed licenses are Basic 35 and 33 essential.

You have 8 improved and Enhanced Plus 1 licenses more than the required number. In total, you have 9 additional licenses on top of your licenses required in both categories improved/more.

Now go Basic and essential your installed licenses are below requirements: you run short 6 basic essential and 4 licenses. Total if you run short of 10 licenses here.

When you run short of licensing in the category of essential basic / it will start borrowing of higher categories, so after having borrowed 9 additional licenses available (from improved/improved more) now you run always run 1 license. That is displayed in the warning.

If all goes well, it should be clear.

  • Enterprise License Manager for CUCM v9.1

    Hi all

Please help on below mention query.

1 > I installed the standalone ELM CUCM and CUC and still I have not installed licenses CUCM & CUC with ELM. It was just done basic configuration.

2 > how to get information on when this ELM demo expires?

3 > demo is taken into account from the date we will installed the ELM server or it will count the date where we will create Instances for CUCM and CUC?

4 > Wll ELM server get stop CUCM or CUC instances application and get ater Shutdown 60 days of grace period?

5 > is it possible to check on the State of the ELM server by GUI or CLI?

All positions would be highly appreciated!

ELM expires isn't a license, it is there for license CUCM and UCXN and by itself does nothing so not need to license it.

  • SPA9xx license with CUCM

Hello. I have a customer that plans to connect several SPA942 and SPA962 to a cluster of Cisco Unified Communications Manager. What licenses do we need to allow all buttons line on phones? As I understand it, to 6 DLUs by SIP 3rd party phone in order to use more than one line key. Right? But for SPA942, I read somewhere that it comes with 2 line enabled by default buttons and additional licenses must be purchased to activate the buttons 2 remaining lines. This applies when it is connected to a CUCM, defined as an Advanced 3rd party phone SIP and uses 6 DLUs? In the affirmative, please send me the SKU for this additional license. If you need any clarification, please let me know. Thank you.

    Hi Sasha,

The SPA942 has all the buttons of 4 lines by default and there is no required additional SKU.

You may need to update firmware of the SPA942, if your phone is running the pre - 5xx firmware. Download with login, of:

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/support/downloads/go/redirect.x?mdfid=282414124

The SPA962 has all the buttons from line 6, active by default. New firmware is available, with login, of:

    http://Tools.Cisco.com/support/downloads/go/redirect.x?mdfid=282414125

I'm not sure of the CUCM DLU, I'll get back to you on that...
