  Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

I've updated to El Capitan Yosemite yesterday through software update, but now when I start the computer I get "no entry" or sign a circle with a diagonal line through it, or the Apple with the progress bar / error message / black screen and it repeats 3 times then stops.

  I'mnot you know where my disk of Mac OS x is so ideally don't want to reinstall the whole system.

  I did a back up of my work using Time Machine before saving, so I hope that I have most of the things I need backup.

  Restart by pressing cmd - R after the tone. It should boot into Recovery. From there, use disk to check/repair disk utility. Quit disk utility and reinstall OS X.

  The circle with a slash through it means that it does not find the necessary boot files.

  You just set up the new TC and plug the old TC... copy the sparsebundle existing old TC to the new... but we do not recommend to do this.

  It's much better to start a new backup TM on the new TC and keep the old one for several months until you have a fair story and if you need never old file the chances you decreases considerably with time.
