  This problem may be caused by a touchpad setting which is intended to avoid any accidental activation - for example if your Palm brush the touchpad when typing.

  You can change this as follows.

  Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the entry of Synaptics.

  The hardware/software version will depend on real option that you're looking for (see the example below), but it is usually called 'check' Palm or Smart Sense'-disable this function and apply the changes.

• Cursor freezes when I right click on a file

  Whenever I right click a file (all), the cursor freezes with the waiting round circle: then I have to go to Task Manager and complete the task under applications to continue to work. To bring things back to normal, I have to restart, but after a while the cursor starts to work again. It is terribly annoying, because I very often work with the menu drop-down list by clicking index right files and regularly use the paste, cut, rename, and delete functions. This problem has happened recently. I have checked my virus from the system and nothing presented. I also realized all the maintenance tasks. I used Nirsoft ShellExView to disable/enable types "contex menu" for all software except those that relate to Microsoft and still have the problem.

  2. have you made changes on the computer recently?

  3. what version of the Windows operating system is installed on your computer?

  Usually, this type of problems can cause due to third party applications.

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  Try to check and clean boot if this can help.

  Warning: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

• Cursor freezes when you type

  I just got an ASUS G75VW, which comes with Synaptics Touchpad V7.4. Sometimes when you use the touchpad, the cursor does not move, I completely stop or raise my finger to get again the movement of the cursor. It occurs most notably when I play games that require movements of the mouse while using W, A, S, D to move. What can I do to possibly resolve this problem? Edit: Under the mouse-> device settings properties there no palm checking option to adjust.

• Tablet cursor freezes when I use eyedropper color ALT. How to fix?

  I use Photoshop CC on Windows 10 to paint, and I love to paint quickly. However whenever I'm pressing the alt key to use the Eyedropper to color-pick, the cursor hangs for 2 seconds and sometimes can't even color, but if I use a mouse I have no problem. I've never had this problem before before moving on to Windows 10. I want to get rid of this delay, so I have a transparent paint.

• Windows 8 crashes when left idle

  whenever I leave my phone off for 5-10 min it doesn't freeze no prgram works except the mouse, the mouse pointer may move only nothing IE right as left click doesnot work and I have to restart the computer.   1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

  2. what security software is installed?

  3. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

  To resolve this issue, let us try these methods:

  Method 1.

  You can try to run the electrical troubleshooting utility and check if it helps.

  a. press Windows key + R, type Control Panel and press ENTER.

  b. Select Troubleshooting.

  c. click system and security , and then select power.

  d. click Next to run the troubleshooter.

  Method 2.

  You can update the drivers and check if that helps.

  Method 3.

  To run the System File Checker, you'll need open an elevated command prompt. This can be done:

  • Enter the start screen
  • Press Windows + C keys on your keyboard to show the charms. (If you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of the screen and slide your finger to the center of the screen to display the bar of charms)
  • Click on search
  • Type the command prompt in the search field
  • Click with the right button on command prompt (if you use a touch screen: touch and hold your finger at the command prompt, drag your finger downwards until you see an outline around the tile and finally release your finger on the screen.)
  • Click on run as administrator

  Enter the command: sfc/scannow
  Note: If you use a touch screen you can open the touch keyboard for the command prompt by typing on the keyboard icon in your taskbar near the system tray.

  Method 4.

  Run a full scan of the computer with the Microsoft Safety Scanner to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

• Computer automatically "wake up" and unable to wake up mode standby when left idle

  original title: screen saver does not work, the computer automatically "wake up". Computer regularly become inactive and cannot be stopped! Forced to pull the plug.

  We have a Vostro 200 with windows vista. The computer still works very well except for two major problems. The first: the screen saver does not work. The screen goes black minute before the screen saver, but when it needs to switch to screen saver mode, the fan in the computer is a thud and the screen turns back on. The second: If the computer is not alone for extended periods of time (hours to end upward in a weird semi-off state). The monitor becomes completely black (the power light goes from green to orange) and the power of the Tower light flashes continuously. If we move the mouse or the keyboard, nothing happens. We are not able to easily to "wake up" the computer. If we hold the power button down for 10 seconds, the round ends. If restart us the breath fan aggressively, but the screen will not display anything. The only way to get the computer working again is to turn off the switch that powers the computer for ~ 1 min and then put it back in again once. After a time abnormally long start-up, the computer goes to the exact same State it was when he went to the black start (the documents are always opened ect.). Does anyone have a similar experience? I am baffled and could use some help. Thank you!

  I would guess that you have a hardware driver that is not fully compatible with the sleep mode function. I would check with the manufacturer and system of the various devices for driver updates (do not use Windows Update to do this). If this fails to solve the problem, you can turn off "sleep" (Control Panel/Power Options, check the settings of the engine at idle) or reduce the State of "s" that the system tries to get into the BIOS system (if available).

• Firefox shows a black screen suddenly during navigation, or when left idle for a long time (more than 1 hour).

  Firefox becomes suddenly totally black, while I was watching yesterday. I tried to reboot, and it works very well. In this State, no menu or actions items are available. Even by closing the browser, I get the confirmation popup, which is also entirely black.

• Laptop cursor freezes

  My computer laptop cursor freezes sometimes when they surf the internet from 1 website to others while in the middle of data transfer. All functions stop.

  Everything tried but failed. Have to power off of closing down, cos nothing move. When turn on, cell function as usual, but after a while it crashes again.
  Made the necessary consolidation of and fragmentation but still does not work.

  My G6 laptop freezes when moved.  When the battery is jostled when you move and to base it on something again it freezes even when it is plugged.

• laptop freezes when performing automatic maintenance

  My sony vaio SVE15137CGW (Windows 8) started to freeze when the automatic Maintenance starts (after staying idle for a few minutes). A black clock appears on the task bar, so I know that the service is running. I can market to stop the gel which is a real nuisance.

• Arrow cursor freezes on the desktop to start OK in safe mode

  Compaq Presario laptop.  Windows Vista SP 1. Touchpad

  My wife's cell phone goes through a normal startup and about 5-10 seconds after the desktop appears, the arrow cursor freezes in its previous location.  It will not move.  It apppears that touch screen turns off.  To turn off the computer, I pressed the power button.

  When I start in safe mode the touchpad works very well.

  I reinstalled the driver touch screen safe mode ATP.  No joy.

  This has happened in the last two days.  After it happened, I did a full scan with a Norton freshly updated in safe mode.  Only a minor tracking cookie has been found and fixed.  The problem has not disappeared.

  Do I have to restore full or is it just a simple fix?
