Cursor jumping around while typing of text.

Original title: why you (Microsoft) ignore the fact that the cursor jump around for text entry is a global problem that occurs on several platforms and applications?  It is not a problem of mouse and you know it.

UH well?

Hi Ony Parsons,

1. What is the brand and model of your system?

We met this problem and most of the time that this can happen on laptop and when you increase the sensitivity of the touchpad.

You can try to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad and see if it helps.

Some options may vary depending on the touchpad software you are using.

a. click on "Start" and click on "Control Panel."

b. double-click "mouse". The "Mouse properties" window opens.

c. go to the tab "device settings". Click on "settings".

d. examine the left panel of the 'Properties' window and expand the "sensitivity". Click on "Sensitivity to touch."

e. reduce tactile sensitivity in moving the slider to the right, to the label of "heavy touch. Experiment with different levels of sensitivity until find you one suited to your needs.

f. click "OK" to close the "Properties" window Repeat the operation with the control panel "mouse". Your new touchpad sensitivity settings are now saved.

    Hello

In order to quickly provide a solution, please answer these questions:

    1. is the issue limited while typing with Microsoft Office Word?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

3 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

If you use a laptop, there is a possibility that your palm is touching the touchpad and cursor to jump. You can try to reduce the sensitivity of the Touchpad and see if the problem still occurs.

    a. click on the "Start" icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Select "Control Panel". Then, select "mouse" under 'hardware and sound'. You can also click on the touchpad while the cursor is anywhere on the desktop. In this screen, choose "mouse pointers."

    b. Select the tab 'buttons' at the top of the dialog box that opens. This shows the type of touchpad device installed on your laptop.

    c. set the touchpad for right or left-handed use in this dialog box. You can adjust the speed of the double click of your computer as well. When you have finished making changes, click 'apply'.

    d. choose the tab "device settings" dialog box now. You can see the touchpad for your Vista machine highlighted on the screen. Select "settings".

    e. read the information provided in the following dialog box. It gives you options for your touchpad Cup, using the buttons, scrolling, pointer movement and sensitivity.

    f. make any changes that you want from the various subjects. When you make a change, click 'apply'. When you have completed all your changes, click 'OK'.

    g. don't some works on your computer for a while, if the touchpad is still too sensitive, return to the menu 'mouse' and continue to adjust the settings to what you get them just the way you want.

If you use the desktop computer with the external mouse, you can change the settings of the mouse and check if it works.

  • My cursor jumps around while I'm typing

This is probably the third time in two years I tried to get help for this problem.  I am currently using a Dell Inspiron, which has nothing to do with it, but I use Windows 7 probably has a lot to do with it.
As I type, the cursor flies over everything about the place.  I am a touch typist and don't like to have to watch the screen while typing, but this problem has deteriorated to such a State that I can barely get through two sentences without having to stop and fix something.  This is intolerable and I'm THIS CLOSE to buying a Mac.
This isn't because of me accidentally brushing my hand on the Tablet, this isn't because of any parameter pointer being on or off, is NOT because of all the other things that were provided as responses during the last months of 2 dozen.  I need a solution to this.  This is a bug of Microsoft.  Someone please admit it, find it and fix it?  Fortunately, I need a new computer.  If I don't get a fix for this, I have not buy another PC.
While typing this I had to stop three times to close a window of thugs who opens or back up and clear some mess or just to find the elusive slider.  Honestly.  I can't take it anymore.

  • Guard cursor jumping around while I type

    Original title: keyboard

I type some words and all of a sudden, I noticed that the cursor jumps back and I find myself typing in the middle of my sentence.

It took me like 5 minutes just for this type. She tends to jump back only (not really before?) and its so annoying.

Has anyone encountered this situation and what solution did you find?

    Thank you

    Hello.

    Using a laptop?

In many cases when people feel things like that, it's because they rest their arms on or around the touchpad and touch accidentally while typing. Try typing something and don't forget to keep your arm clear of the touchpad to see if it has an effect any.

I have problems with my computer acer laptop using windows vista. The guard break slider back when entering. In the mouse properties, I checked Hide pointer while typing. I keep having the same problem

You are most likely to accidentally brush your hand against the touchpad while typing.

  • Cursor jumps around for typing text in random places

This never happened with my previous laptop so I was wondering if I was leaning on the touchpad too, I kept reducing the sensitivity, but it was useless.

According to me, so although I made this post I could have solved the problem because it happened not once since I wrote this post, just so the snacks, it helps someone else:

Double-click the icon in the status bar > Advanced tab > avancΘs features > lower-right Settings > Tapping settings > operations during key entry. I checked this and left the slider in the Middle for now. Then Applied and Okayed off windowns 1 million. It SEEMS to have stopped for the time being it.

Hope this helps anyone else having the same problem, certainly, he stopped my cursor floating about the place while I'm typing. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm happy to hear also.

    Hello

In the past we had here on this forum several similar messages and in most cases, everything was OK after you turn off the touchpad.
Touchpad can be disabled with the FN + F9 key combination.

    Hi mate

I read on this issue of cursor on the different laptop models (from different manufacturers).
But in most cases, the users didn't note that the touchpad was accidentally while typing of touchpad.
You said you checked this hmm but in any case, try to disable the touchpad while typing just for test purposes

In addition, some have said that the BIOS update can also be useful
So if the most recent BIOS is available, updated it!

    Hello

First, download the Setup driver Synaptics following on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp46501-47000/sp46509.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

    Once done, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once done, restart the laptop.

  • Typing issues (cursor Jumping... moves my text to another sector while typing)

Someone please help with this problem!  Whenever I type my cursor jumps around and I have to keep going back and deleting and retyping.  Help, please

I have a sony VAIO and this problem is driving me crazy

    Hi Tim,.

You're using a laptop by chance?  If so, you can solve this problem by taking a quick glance to your touchpad options.  If you use Windows 7, click the Start button, type mouse in the search field and click on enter.  There should be an option to change the settings of the device for the TouchPad.  On many models, Synaptics is the creator of the TouchPad and has a tab of its own in the mouse properties.  If you do not see these settings, you will need to install the drivers for your manufacturers Web site.

For Dell machines, you can go to the support.dell.com website.  Select your model and you will find the driver in Input Device Drivers.  For Compaq/HP machines, go to support.hp.com, select your model and find the devices, keyboard, mouse and input.

I would like to turn off the tap option and raise the sensitivity PalmCheck option.   These are the first options I always change when I get a new laptop; Otherwise, I have the same problem.

    Hope this helps,

    Barbara
