Windows Live Mail, Mail.MSMessageStore, and SuperFetch
I now have serious problems to make Windows Live Mail to
drive at a reasonable speed, probably due to the size of this file
at first more more than half the RAM installed on the
computer, where the compression of the WLM database
stop working; so beyond the size of the RAM installed less
the size of the Vista system section the size of the WLM
program and make the start of WLM so slow I can't
to use it:Mail.MSMessageStore
The obvious solution, install more RAM, is not currently
appropriate given that neither the mother nor 64 bit Vista Home
Premium can more than manage the 8 GB I have already. It can
become a solution, but ONLY if the memory card
manufacturers to begin laying the more memory on every suitable memory card
for this computer and then upgraded again Microsoft offers to
the more expensive versions of Vista.I already tried to disable SuperFetch in Vista
because it seems to be responsible for the first part of the problem-
He made my very heavy use of WLM discussion groups section
This file used so strongly that SuperFetch is always try to keep
in memory every time that WLM is running, and also the copy used
during compression and stored in the Compact folder; but there is
simply not enough RAM to contain both of these files as well as the WLM
program in memory at the same time. There not much helped - WLM would be
commissioning fast enough, I could see it working, but the WLM upgrade to
version 2011 for months, I was busy on other issues
seems to have either deleted or hidden on how user controls
often the compression occurs, so I could not simply trigger a
compression. If she is only hidden, where is he now? If it's gone, could Microsoft
offer a program a bit like WMUtil which allows to compress
Mail.MSMessageStore of files larger than the amount of RAM?In addition, Microsoft would provide an option that makes this file to hold
little more than the name of the file actually keep what
already done this so great record and moving most of its other
contained in a separate file, for which the file name is changed to the
least as often it's compressed? Only the very heavy discussion groups
If users need this option, but it looks like one of the
simpler ways to exclude most of the current content of this file
to have SuperFetch force all in memory.Microsoft adding export and import functions for focus groups
positions to WLM, similar to that already in place for electronic messages,
while I would have at least the opportunity to export some less
frequently accessed records of discussion groups, but the import sections
them later?I suspect that the second part of the problem is part of WLM
herself - when it starts, he's trying to put all the program more
All Mail.MSMessageStore of the file into memory at once and can not
handle the case where the RAM is simply not big enough to allow this.[post abandoned on April 15, 2012]

Windows Live Mail is the bane of my existence
I spent a year trying to use and as Windows Live Mail without success. Not only I lost hours and hours trying to figure out where something I need disappeared to, but the only person that I can go to also spent a bit of time trying to straighten/figure much of him he took some computer classes and was the guru of computing where he worked for at least five years. Even he can't answer a number of questions on how to find/work with various aspects of Windows Live Mail. I used Windows mail for a few years and found that, while it had its faults, they are nothing compared to Windows Live Mail. Apparently, I'm not alone because I spoke with other people who have the same opinion of Windows Live Mail, as I have.
Surely you can "fix" some of the shortcomings of Windows Mail and let the primary program alone. Compared to the shortcomings of Windows Live Mail my program Windows (installed on my old computer with Vista) was everything but perfect. In 2007 transfer to a new computer with Vista was no problem for me, so I wasn't expecting to have problems when I got this new computer about a year ago.
I'm willing to bet that if you improved rather than changed Windows Mail, then already, you will find the people flocking to get the program installed on their computer. It must be remembered that many of us do not know much about computers and do not have access to people who can help us, then when you change it completely program, we are accustomed to the reigns of frustration. Add in the fact that Windows Live Mail can only be terribly easy progressive even for people who work a lot about computers, then you have created the perfect storm.
I thought about buying a new computer, but almost all are equipped with eight windows and I have not heard a single person who has eight windows say they like it. In fact, they say generally that they hate a lot and/or are sorry they was sold.
My theory is that your people who make these changes is very adept at the use of the computer and have no problem learning of new programs. But a large number of buyers/users of your products have not this ability so become frustrated and start to think about buying something that might be easier to use.
Having said all this, is it possible that I can re-install my old Windows program on my newer computer and not having compatibility problems?
The solution is simple, just change you mail manager and make it the default. Then go to control panel > programs and features and windows uncheck (disable) live mail or if you can uninstall it.
I use Postbox Express with XP and W7. There are other mail handlers out there, some good and some terrible. Just select 'Add an account' to P/Express and enter your address name and em. It will do the rest to set up your accounts.

Forward e-mail messages from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail
XP Home Version 2002 SP 3 upgrade to Windows 7
Currently using Outlook Express for e-mail. You want to switch to Windows Live Mail after converion.
How to save Outlook emails and transfer on Windows Live Mail after comversion
Thank you
1 create folders on an external device or partition/drive and name them OEInbox and OESent. Open Outlook Express, go to the Inbox, click a message line then press Ctrl + A to select all and drag the highlighted items in OEInbox, where they become individual .eml files. Repeat for the sent items and all other mail boxes you have.
2. open Windows Live Mail, view the Inbox and open the OEInbox folder on the registered device, select all (Ctrl + A) the items in the OEInbox folder and drag them into the Inbox of WLM. Repeat this step for the other mailboxes.

Conflict between the settings of the computer and Windows Live Mail
I have a conflict between my computer settings, Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail/Calendar. When the computers ' regional and Language Options | Date - short Date Format"settings are set to"dd-MMM-yy"is in conflict with the Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail/Calendar 'date of birth and birthday' date formats. Whenever a date is placed in the Windows Live Mail "birth date and birthday" field the date in the field becomes "mm/dd/yy" which generates a conflict in date format. Enter "mm/dd/yyyy" in the date field of "birth date and birthday" in Windows Live Mail when your computer settings are set to "dd-MMM-yy" and Windows Live Mail passes the numbers 'mm and JJ '. Is there a solution? I'd like to see dd-MMM-yy on my computer. Also why Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Hotmail contact list different? In Windows Live Mail, you can enter a "anniversary date" but not in Windows Live Hotmail contacts list!WinXP all updates, WLM 2009 v14

reset the wizard import identity in windows live mail
Ayuh,
I'm trying to move from XP to W7. I remember seeing in migrating from OE to WLM FRONT operating system. (Because the WLM for W7 version lacks the import OE account available in the XP compatible version Wizard?) I installed WLM on XP, and all my stuff of OE appeared with the exception of the references ' save/move to "in my very large rule set. I understand that it is 'normal' because WLM message store organization is different from OE.* while I was manual correction of this, I messed up bigtime and amazed all rules and probably a bunch of other indispensable elements. All attempts to repeat the account import fail, usually with the
* I'm not sure that understand the rational that WLM does not know the target of the link. It imported all the folders and messages, from OE and put them into folders etc. under WLM. So that he knows where they come from and where he put them, so it's a 1:1 reference. Surely, it is a simple exercise to find the translation and change the rules in WLM?

How can I import groups of Windows Mail contacts in Windows Live Mail?
I work in a small office where we have computers running Windows Vista and using Windows Mail (version 6.0.6000.16388). We have hundreds of contacts and a few contact groups on these computers.
A few months ago, we got two new computers running Windows XP and Windows Live mail (version 2009, version 14.0.8089.0726). Other computers at the office always have Vista and the other version of Windows Mail.
I was able to export our hundreds of contacts and import them into Windows Live Mail for new computers have all the contacts... but I was unable to find a way to import groups.
These groups are all very large and comprise mostly/entirely out of contacts that do not have individual contact entries.
I've been Googling for a solution to this problem. The page nearest you, that I could find was this:
I was very discouraged when I saw the big red warning to the top of the page:
---------------
In the Groups of Contact with Vista, only contacts who are also included as normal Contacts will be imported into Windows Live Mail. Contacts that have been created for the Contact Group only will not be imported into Windows Live Mail. You will need to write these down and add them manually in Windows Live Mail.
---------------This pretty much described my situation exactly, but manually going through all groups, write all contacts, and then import them manually into two separate machines should always and is simply not an option.
Are there really no other way I can get these groups into Windows Live Mail?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
I have not actually tried this, but I think this method will work.
1. get a free Live ID (or @hotmail.com or @live.com).
2. install Windows Live Mail on Vista computer. During the installation, it will offer to signature with a Live ID. Do.
3. the first performance of Windows Live Mail, it will be important to all contacts from Windows Mail. Give him enough time to synchronize all contacts with the web version of this Live ID.
4. open Windows Live Mail on the new computer and then connect with the same Live ID. The automatic synchronization process will transfer in all contacts of the web version of this Live ID.
