Custom in the ALX files properties

Hello

in fact I deploy my application OTA. I added some special parameters in the JAD file to configure the application before it is downloaded to the device. Using the CodeModuleGroupManager I can then read properties and use them in my application.

Now, I have received the request to deploy my application using Blackberry Enterprise Manager. The administrator has informed me, he uses an ALX file to install the application on the device. Now, my problem is that the additional settings to configure my application are no longer there (it is not possible to install the jad with alx files). Is it possible to add custom in the alx file properties? Or y at - it another way to do with BES?

Thanks for your help,

Lars

Take a look at BES Admin Manual. On the side of the unit, you can query the TI custom policy settings using the ITPolicy class.

  • How to access custom in the .vm file properties

    Hello

    I have created custom property for the screen using file-> project properties.

    This property applies to one of my screen.

    If I want to access the value of the custom property in .vm.

    How to access this value. I tried to use screen.getTest (), but it returns nothing for me.

    For custom controls properties, you can use:

    #set ($value = "")
    #set ($value = $control.getProperties () .get ("PropertyName"))

    So I think for the screen, it should be something like:

    #set ($value = $screen.getProperties () .get ("PropertyName"))

  • Deployment of Java Application on air not to read the ALX file?

    Hello

    I made a simple application in Java, using Blackberry JDE, I want to deploy OTA.

    I generated an ALX file using "Generate ALX file" in the menu "Project" Blackberry JDE after previously setting values in the properties for the project.  If I open my ALX file in Notepad, I can see my values in there.

    However, when I download my app (using a URL Pointant towards my.) JAD file on a web server), nothing of the ALX file appears in the download screen (version = 0,= seller,...).

    I found a post on this same forum indicating that I need to set values in the properties of the workspace instead.  I did... and it's working now, but I have access to change only the version number and the seller.  I don't have access to the application for title or the description of the application.

    On my web server, I copied the. JAD. JAR. COD and. ALX files.

    I would like to be able to specify a description of the application on the download screen, and see also the title of the app on the screen Options/Advanced Options/Applications.  At present, it seems that the file name of the. JAD file is used instead of the 'title' in the. ALX file.  When I go on my icon of the application, the title of the correct application appears.

    Am I missing something?

    Is there a way to do this?

    Thank you!

    BTW, I tested it with a real device (Storm 9530, OS 4.7)

    Only the JAD and cod use OTA Download.  The pot and the alx are not required.

    I would consider the information in the developer's Guide for deploying applications.  You will find a less readable for 4.7 online version here:

  • files of custom in the enterprise project properties

    Hello

    I created an enterprise application that contains 3 projects:

    -EAR project
    -EJB project
    -Web project

    And I added a properties file in:

    -EAR project/EarContent/APP-INF/afile.properties

    The content of this file is:
    Host = < path to host >
    Port = 389

    And I have a .jar file that uses this property file located in:

    -EAR project/EarContent/APP-INF/lib/afile.jar

    Then I add the .jar file, through projects of the EAR-> right click-> properties-> deployment Assembly--> Add--> Archives of the workspace
    It then appears under the EAR porject - deployment - Bundled libraries - library descriptor directory

    When you run the application, the JAR file is running as it should, but it cannot find the properties file.

    In the .jar file, I have a java file which locates the property file and the elements like this:

    private static final String BROKER_PROPERTY_NAME = "afile;

    brokerResources = PropertyResourceBundle.getBundle (BROKER_PROPERTY_NAME);

    Host of the string = brokerResources.getString ("host");
    port of int = Integer.parseInt (brokerResources.getString ("port"));

    Anyone know where to put the property file to get this to work?

    Best regards, reZer

    The best thing to do would be to put your properties file in APP-INF/classes directory. In contrast to the APP - INF directory itself, the APP-INF/classes directory is on the application class loader.

  • Option 'Generate the ALX file' does not exist in Eclipse

    I'm under Eclipse 3.6.0 v 32 bits with the BlackBerry JDE Plugin v1.1.2.201004161203 - 16 on Windows 7 x 64 (I could not the 64 bit version of eclipse to work).  When I right click on the project in the Project Explorer, there is no option to "Generate ALX file" as say the tutorials I read there.

    When I installed the BB plugin to Eclipse, a prompt came up saying I need eclipse v3.5, and that it would be "update" (more like downgrade) me to this version.  Could be the problem?

    Everything has been working great.  I was able to compile and run in the Simulator without a hitch.  Its been actually quite a pleasant experience developed in this environment.  I just need to get this generated ALX file so that I can transfer my application on my phone for testing purposes.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    in the application starts, you should see an xml type of the file in which to give the application title and icon of the application.

    in the same file to the upperside resembles tab, there is a drop down menu in which we select the 'yes' option to generate ALX.

  • Modification date in the jpg file properties menu

    My Nikon image download went well, but 4 of the images have the wrong date on them when they were taken.  I think it was off on the camera somehow.  So, when I view it in the Microsoft folder, they are out of use.  Is there a way to change the property case created date on some images in the large folder?

    To change the dates of file or folder, you will need a 3rd party program as freeware "Attribute Changer.
        <>http://www.Softpedia.com/get/system/file-management/attribute-changer.shtml >

    Remember that sometimes the dates of the .jpg files come the EXIF information stored in the .jpg file and you may need some kind of an EXIF Editor to change that.

  • The ALX files: Conversion Area51 ALX, STRANGE front engine install

    -Original message-

    "Cloning the ALX Alien." My new Area-51 is due for a snack; here in my toolbox, I thought I'd try the motorization of the front panel to make it more ALX - ish. It is to disassemble the front panel, the strange motor mounting and installing the correct master i/o daughter card to power the motor. I call this one: operation Changeling. The new strange engine & Master i/o board arrived today, & updates will appear after foreign success *. Panel before motorized or bust...

    If your mio Board is missing upper left (son red/black, 4-pin) connector for the odd_motor, then you will need get a hint of mio ALX, who does not have the odd_motor connector

    **********************************

    Change 11.25.14

    Today my pair of 'parts' ALX panels arrived @ a killer case: 32 dolla / shipped for both. Manufacturer x504r. No, they were not easy to find, (no, they are not for sale either, lol). After seeing that I got to work, what I have in mind here is to make 'a good thing' to simply remove the top panel scratched each, & transferring the good top panel of the other as a spare part solid with or without problems to my ALX. Then, I'll remove the engine-Ribbon-switch, etc. from the 'bad', retained as a spare & recycle the damaged hull, that is not worth keeping.

    I present to you the photo & update here as proof that they are, I ran down to three in the last 6 weeks. Basically, carpet bomb anyone who sells parts w/a message from A - 51 if they have a known-working ALX panel for sale. Is they say yes, but it's just a little beat up - scratches / bumps - don't mention you're just motor & could care less what he "looks like to ': use some cosmetic problems there as leverage to get the price down. You could say: "it does make a lot of sense for me to replace my Panel ALX (lol, as if) w / one who has problems, but @ the right price, I'd be willing to give it a go; maybe try to make 'a good thing' of mine & yours... ok? If all goes well a stealth maneuver like this is help to bag one at a large or even crazy price. 1 I put in bag came from a guy just a motherboard stock selling: I messaged, asked if the case it came with was there with him, & if so if it could be separated outside too, so there's have it. You will need a good new alx master i/o board also, three different part #, everything will work in your A-51 stndrd & here, I tried to do a master i/o Board removal / replace guide in the middle of this post:

    I know it's rare, but sometimes you will see just the engine coming up for buying: If so, grab you it & as you see the weld in your own micro-switch, as a viable option. Other times, you'll see the available engine + Ribbon + switch: in this scenario, you might stumble it all-in- & if so, take note of how your Ribbon of old stndrd routes etc. can transfer the alx engine-Ribbon-switch on (if your snippets of 'transparent tape' that fix the Ribbon junk up in the process, you can buy clear "reinforced nylon of" sticky tape of CVS etc. to the new band on.) If you buy a full panel, maybe save your parts & throw the rest...

    That's why my Explorer crashes every time that I surfed between records, or I drag the scroll bars. Maybe the two things are related. The topic on the crash of Explorer was not helpful at all.

    Thank you much for the help

    The 5th tab (openings) should show only for folders, not files, are you sure that you also see this tab for files?  The tab can be disabled by way of editing the registry value NoCustomizeThisFolder to 1.

    To the user specific settings, change the value:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    For wide Panel, change the value to the:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    If the value is not present, add (DWORD) and set it to 1.

  • Cannot add properties of jad for the compatibility mode for the COD file metadata.

    Hi all.

    I need to disable the application that are installed compatibility mode using the ALX file. I read in an another messages it is possible to add custom file JAD directly properties in the COD file. I tried to create test projects using Blackberry JDE, Blackberry Eclipse plugin generation tools and use Eclipse with ant. Then I tried to add a JAD file for projects and by adding the following properties:

    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: false
    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode-UserChangeable: true

    Also I tried specifying the properties of this:

    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: 0
    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode-UserChangeable: 1

    But it seems that it does not help to automatically avoid compatibility mode for applications that are built using JDE4.2.1 or earlier. I ran the test on Storm 9530 camera with 5.0.0.32 8 preinstalled JDE. I also wipe my phone several times to avoid the capabilities that the compatibility mode settings is saved.

    In addition, before installing the application I also checked this jar file compatibility mode properties which was built contained in this manifesto.

    Please, anobody can advise which go bad. Or it seems that there is no possibility to implement the solution that are built with the JDE at first then 4.7 and are installed using the ALX file.

    I never could get this job.

    Sorry, don't know what the deal is.

  • Eclipse plug-in: generated files .alx file contains several versions of the OS.

    I'm using Eclipse 3.5 with BlackBerry Plugin 1.1.2.  My BlackBerry runtime environment is set to 4.2.1.  I put in my Application descriptor to generate a files .alx file.  When I package for the project, a files .alx file to be generated, but it contains sets of files for version 4.2.1 and 4.7.0:

                   PWMinder PWMinder Password Manager, used to store and manage you passwords. 1.0.5 Ewert Technologies Copyright (c) 2010 Ewert Technologies 4.2.1 PWMinder.cod

                                          4.7.0                                     PWMinder.cod

    I don't know why it includes 4.7.0; under the /standard directory, it only generates the .cod and other files for 4.2.1 (No 4.7.0 directory is created).   Awhile back, I've changed the runtime environment for 4.7.0, but since I turned it to 4.2.1 I assumed the .alx files is only information for 4.2.1.  He in some way remember that I used 4.7.0 in the past?

    Then this .alx files seems to be a problem when I try to use Desktop Manager to load the application on my device; Desktop Manager says: "no additional applications can be found.  Your file may have existing applications in the list of applications, or is not compatible for your device, or errors.

    The camera I use is: BlackBerry Curve 8330 v4.5.0.127 (Platform 3.4.0.20)

    Running on the simulators seem to work very well.  I was able to get a previous version of my application to load on my device.

    Any thoughts?

    I had a little trouble with that at first on the new plugin but once I got the ALX options appear outside he life much more easily.  Where I thought I'd use groups and such on the BES that users that you have the right version (or no version at all), I now use the ALX.

    Having said that the necessary ALX manual change unless I was building accurate versions of the operating system, which I never do.  Basically, the ALX seems to have trouble with the concept of "install on all devices with version x and more.  There may be a way to set up in Eclipse, but it's not immediately obvious and the manual fix was easy.

    In your case, you can remove the entire section associated with 4.7 but your real problem is that tags say that the app is only for devices > = 4.2.1 and<4.2.2(exlusive).  edit="" the="" 4.2="" section="" to="" look="" like="" the="" below="" which="" is="" basically="" that="" the="" app="" is="" to="" run="" on="" 4.2.1="" and="" all="" versions="">

    Don't forget to deploy your BES with the same file structure listed in the ALX, otherwise you will also change the directory tag indicating the location of the Cod.
