  I am trying to create a custom asynchronous device for VeriStand and have the following questions:

  (a) at what rate entered in the course of analysis and data channel pushed into the FIFO of the custom device entry? The scanning speed depends on if the input channel is mapped to a control of workspace object or if it is mapped to an output of the simulation model (.dll file)?

  (b) at what rate the VI real-time asynchronous custome device running? Is it at the same rate as the primary control loop rate? Can I change the rate of implementation of a custom device and how?

  (c) I have a quad-core PXI time real platform. How can I connect the device customized to a specific processor, like what you do with a simulation model (.dll file) in the definition of system file?

  Data FIFO

  The rate at which data are pumped on your meter is static and has nothing to do with the question of whether the workspace is connected, or if a model is mapped to one of your channels. By default, data are pushed in input of your Custom FIFO each iteration of the loop of primary control. If the FIFO is full, the oldest data packet is crushed. In addition, by default, outings THAT FIFO is controlled ever iteration of the loop of primary control. You can, however, use the NI VeriStand - Set custom decimation of device to mark a property on your customized device that will tell the system its decimation expected in the. If you set a decimation of 10, for example, the primary control loop will be send every 10 iterations of new data and check for new data out FIFO only every 10 iterations. This can help reduce the load of the processor in your system if you do not need updates that often.

  Similarly, you can use the NI VeriStand - Set of deep FIFO to control the depths of the FIFO of your entries and exits FIFO respectively. By default, both have depth 1.

  Delivery rate

  The rate at which your custom device runs depends on how set you up. You can for example, having your Custom asynchronous device uses its own schedule and run at a pace totally independent of the system. Your VI could have regular while loop with a 10ms timer, for example, or it could be based off some hardware device timing.

  Alternatively, you can choose yourself closely synchronize with the primary control loop.   Specification of a processor

  There is no property integrated for the allocation of the processor, but it will be very easy for you to implement yourself.   Is there a way to control the order of execution of devices customized model inline, but not in line of custom hardware devices. It's a little cryptic to say the least.

  To set the execution order, simply add the following property to your custom device node main:

  Property name: nivs. {8f8f48dc-2a8c-4a7c-98b5-164e566940d6}

  Data type: U16

  Value: 0-255

  Use only the values between 0 and 255. Run a smaller number first. If there is a tie, then the first device added to the definition of system will initially. The assignment of priority by default if this property is not set amounts to 127.

  At the moment, you must click on Preview in the browser, as Muse will not show changes to updating as in Dreamweaver. We are already aware of this and are currently working on this feature. Unfortunately there is no timetable for the improvement I can do at this stage.

• Find the cause of refresh Device Manager

  I am having a problem similar to the one in this post: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/why-does-device-manager-keeps-refreshing-while-i/f370fb04-d287-4c9e-ab6a-5861f8595861.  In short, the Device Manager keeps refreshing the list of material, all a few seconds or so, even when the computer is sitting idle.

  In my case the problem is not a recently added material.  The problem comes and goes.  Sometimes, the update is not immediate, and sometimes the computer crashes permanently.  I think one of my pieces of hardware can be failing intermittently, but I don't know which.  I could try trial and error to figure out the problem by disabling the devices one by one at a time.  But it will take a long time, it is unclear because the underlying problem is intermittent, and it may not work if the responsible hardware is vital for the system to function.

  So my question is this: is it not somewhat faster/more easier to determine, perhaps glancing at a newspaper somewhere, what piece of hardware is causing him continually refreshes in Device Manager?  Clearly, the OS is aware of these events, as it did the update.  They are somehow?

  After a clean reinstall of windows 7, I get a constant refresh in Device Manager (although there is no indicators) also the noise to connect and disconnect usb port... tried everything I can think of to... totally lost...

• Not truly Plug & Play with the generated for custom USB device .inf file

  We have developed an application that uses the library OR-VISA-in order to communicate with our USB device via RAW communication.

  This is why we created an *.inf file using the driver Wizard. Once we plug-in the device for the first time, windows enumerates the device successfully and the 'Found new hardware' pop-up - window.

  We chose the .inf file that is created, and the device is properly installed.

  Our problem occurs when we plug one another device of the same type but with a different Serial-ID (which means that same VID, PID, only the ID for the USB - stick is different).

  For all devices with a Serial-ID, which has not been connected to windows, and yet, the "found new hardware" - window opens again so that you HAVE to choose the installation procedure. Despite the fact that the driver for this type of device was already installed, windows does not affect our driver .inf file to the device.

  If we chose, then in the "Found new hardware" procedure - the "Automatic Setup" window - the device is installed and can be used successfully.

  Of course, windows recognizes the right driver but does not automatically assign it without pop-up windows. We want to avoid the pop-up reapeating for each device.

  I did some research on this subject, and now I guess the problem is that the generated .inf file has no signature.

  Does anyone have experiences on this subject? Am I wrong? Does anyone have or had the same problem?

  All solutions next assign the same ID series for all devices?

  "WHQL signature hardware USB.

  WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) sign your USB hardware using the driver NI-VISA for Windows XP / 2000, as part of this process it takes a PDB (program database) file to the underlying driver (NiViUsbK.sys).

  NiViUsbK.pdb is provided for this purpose. It is in \WinNT\NIvisa\USB. This is usually C:\VXIPNP\WinNT\NIvisa\USB. »

  To get it done, you must contact Microsoft. We are not allowed / able to sign your driver for you.

• Writing to the nodes property DAQmx channel does not refresh the channel values

  Hi all

  I have a riddle.  I created a task programmatically in LabVIEW and programmatically added several analog input channels to the task.  It's easy.

  I wish that my user must be able to modify the individual channels within the task.  To this end, I created a set of screws that allow it to change the settings appropriate to the channel (for example, if it is a channel of thermocouple, it can change the type of thermocouple, CRC value, etc... If it is a strain gauge channel, it can change the coefficient of fish and so on).  These screws all works beautifully, like the VI where they live.

  The specific question that I have is that writing to the channel property nodes refreshes not communication channels.  See the images below.  The first image is the code that needs to define new channels of communication:

  

  Note that immediately after setting the property nodes, I read their values back, just to see what comes out back.

  The second image is an image of the public Service immediately after the execution of this VI.  Note that the values read from the channel property nodes did not updated to match to the set of values, but instead kept their initial configuration values:

  Hi, Diane.  A week ago, I also had a problem changing the channel properties (not sure that our situtions are exactly comparable, but...).  My 'solution' to want to change the appearance of the task was to just throw the original task and recreate all the elements of the task from scratch.

  I've not done enough 'experiments' to work when you can and cannot change, but am now much more cautious...

  Because you actually using a HorizontalFieldManager to display each line, to remove it, you must remove the information in the underlying data store and then delete it HFM of his Manager.  That's it, removing the HFM will refresh the screen.

  I changed recently upgraded my old outdoor antenna to something much better. As a result, I now get many more channels. Some of these channels are probably close to 100 miles away. EPG WMC not being extracted and live online in the info, I guess that it takes only few of my 'area '. This translates I only find info for strings nearest while some other display Info not available. It is of course annoying and makes doing the impossible registration application.

  I'd like to solve this problem by trying to use an EPG that will pull information from over the air signal. While I searched it online all methods that seem to work for others are for people in Europe, or even for the older versions of XP/Vista of WMC. I have Windows 7 Home.

• View 4 customer failing to RDP instead of PCoIP

  Checked here, as well as on the internet and couldn't find someone who has a similar problem, so I thought I'd post and see if anyone figured this out.

  We have a Pool of offices on view 4.0.1 servers ESX 3.5 with the default value PCoIP Protocol, and the possibility for the user over ride the default protocol (we use the display server security as well for these users to connect to the House, and it's the only way that we found that the work to have the connection to the House be restored in RDP.  If the box is unchecked, no one can get on their home office).  There are about 30 other people in this pool, and they all work on PCoIP without any problem.

  One of our staff worked well on PCoIP for about a week, and then all of a sudden, his power using RDP on PCoIP.  So far, we tried (in no particular order):

  Tried the 4.5 client - did nothing different

  Tried to remove its VM, and have his new newspaper to are assigned to an another VM - seeps RDP

  Tried to move his PC to another host. -The problem follows her

  Tried to connect as another user both its host system and the other system host that we have him test - the other user connected with PCoIP

  Delete her roaming profile, and the profile on the host - still gets RDP only.

  This user is working remotely from home via the display security server, but so do a dozen other people in the same pool who do not have this problem.

  Do not know what is happening at this point.  It seems that something is put to his account to use RDP on PCoIP.  The thing that is really weird, is that this behavior follows him independently of any host it connects to.

  Anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful for all the assistance.

  This has not fixed the problem.

  In addition to the troubleshooting caused it seem more related to tab mix. I've upgraded to the current development version of that and the problem seems to have declined.
