Customer does not understand the purpose of the Service Packs

I have a client and I have trouble explaining a question related to the objective of the SPs. Any comment is appreciated.

The customer has a computer that runs an application with SP2 and creates a file on this computer. Then send the file
a user to overseas using a computer with SP1. The user overseas to have problems with the file,
try with another computer SP2 and everything is OK.
I told the customer that the problem may be something in the file and it is not related to the compatibility of the SP1 - SP2. He
insists that SP2 must be compatible with SP1. I tried to explain, Ms is not a new version, it corrects bugs etc...
and we never talk about compatibility between SPs. SPs are not meant to create problems, it's to solve problems.
I won't give the name of the application because it can see the post. He has now decided to roll all the computers
back to SP1 I don't aggree with him.

What do you think?

Thank you.

I think that the customer is a fool, and you need to stop doing business with him if he does not understand or accept what you say. Make sure he knows its computers run a serious security risk, and operational risk, and some programs may not work without the latest service packs, and it will be very expensive to repair.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Bold 9900 stole, but it does not block the service provider

    Hello

My phone got stolen, but it does not block the service provider. All they did was disable the sim card.

BlackBerry protect now cant work because the phone cannot connect to the network.

Don't know what else to do

It is each carrier as they will blacklist the device or simply to block the SIM card.  The good news is that no one can rack up charges on your account using your old phone.  Now when you get a new, open a BlackBerry Protect session and cancel the old phone.  You can then connect your new phone and restore your contacts.

    I hope that helps you.

    Hi friends,

I have a question for the vCenter heartbeat,

When the Active Server is shut down normally, the passive server does not start the service.

    Is this normal?

    Thank you.

He starts the services on the passive server because the correct judgment still leaves the server active as being the "main".

Stop all services of it properly. And after it comes back online replication starts as before, so that no service must be started on both servers. (in this case that you will have questions)

Please note that on a server computer, you have 2 possibilities to "stopping down": the BONE and the option of status and control of the server Vcenter Heartbeat

  • VLAN real PowerConnect base for beginner who does not understand the trunks etc.

I have several switches Dell powerconnect 3548 and 5548 deployed on my network to install multi that I'm managing their individual DNS names.  now, I've added a voip phone system that works on my network, but to a range of ip addresses completely different to another server.  So, I want all my switches divided into 2 VLANS.  The basic vlan 1 will always manage the switches and all ports and the vlan voip will have its own set of ports on the second VLAN.

There is no visibility between the VLAN, just different IP addresses different server DHCPd, s so if your clogged in the vlan 1 are you a PC/printer/etc with your own default gateways defined by the field.  If you are connected to one vlan 10 you are a phone and you will get your information from an edgemark server somewhere else.

so step by step (if you want to give me even better orders) I have actually need it to configure to create a vlan separate and independent who will seek dhcp by an existing voip to its home network device to, while I can still manage my management ip switches.  I understand not all the vocabulary of trunking and I don't know if it needs anything else including marking, because are is all autonomous.  I guess I need a guid for Dummies at vlanning powerconnects.

their everything that I can do to get this combination works.

Sorry, didn't know where to post this. a mod can move if necessary

    Hi ManasYL,

I see that you want to use motorola H350 to make voip calls. I will help you with that.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. what security software is installed on the computer?

    3. do you have a wired network connection or a wireless connection?

No matter what Internet calling equipment you choose, you will need to sign up with an Internet calling service provider. Before selecting a service on the Internet component, find out what software and what appeal material they need. Many service providers will sell you everything you need, including phones or headsets look and a certain type of phone adapter or base station that connects to your router or your computer. Ask your provider about compatibility before you buy any equipment Internet call. Equipment of a provider of services may not work with another calling service.

  • I have a legitimate Windows XP disk, but it has not all the Service Packs. Is there a way to make another disc bootable with all three of service packs?

I need a Windows XP bootdisk with all service packs. I have a drive (bought) under license or legitimate only it doesn't have any service pack on this disc. I downloaded all three service packs, but how do I make a Windows XP bootable disk with all three service pack on the drive also? BTW; I have Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 partitioned on my main computer with boots double.

The process is called "slipstreaming".  There are a number of Web sites with detailed directions.  Here are a few: http://tinyurl.com/3t3epzn

Personally, I have had success using nLite.  Others swear by Autostreamer.  Or you can do it manually.

There is some confusion about the "Gold" XP update (with no service pack) to SP3.  If you have installed XP Gold and you want to update your existing installation, you must update to sp1, 1A, or 2 before upgrading to sp3 again.

For this reason, some people suggest a slipstreamed sp1a or sp2 using your CD-ROM CD but XP and then to a sp3 CD based on one that you just created.

However, a lot of sites claim to have created a CD of sp3 XP slipstreamed successfully from a CD of XP Gold (which is what you seem to have).  See http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp3_cd.htm

    1 PC.vi (server)

#1 tries to send a package of 'setup' to #2 by the construction of a table.

The problem is the client of xbee VI gets 0 bytes or "" empty string back.  What Miss me?

Note that I was running the two VI on the same PC.  And it worked because the IP addresses were set to localhost.

I don't know if a Windows Firewall affect TCP/IP communication in the same PC.  It is possible, I don't know.

Firewalls can certainly affect communication between different PC whehter is a firewall in the routers on the network or in the Windows Firewall.  It is therefore useful to check in one more.  But as you say, I see nothing wrong with the code.
