customization of the google search and the new inconsistency of tabs

1. is there a way to customize the google search bar to the effect of doing this and this addons?

2. I dislike the inconsistency of FF3 when it comes to opening new tabs: CTRL + T opens a new tab to the very good, while clicking on a link or search in the menu shortcut opens the new tab next to the tab that is currently open. There should be a way to make the FF to work one way or the other.

1. you can change the google.xml file in the program folder files \searchplugins\ to match one of these two XML files search plugins.

2. which changed in Firefox 3.6 to fix a Bug which was introduced some time - ago "related" URL opens to the right of the tab being viewed, others open on the far right. Many of us did not like that and we have disabled this feature.

Type of topic: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.

If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.

Filter = browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent

  • After you disable the new interface to tabs, all new documents are not open in a larger window

    Hello

Yesterday I upgrade my Adobe 11.0.10 Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 15.010.20056 player. The tabs interface was pleasant enough, but there are still some limitations with this features, such as,.

1 > no option to set no maximum. tabs in a single window,

2 > tabs cannot organize, to be moved to a new window and several selected

I want to disable the new interface to tabs via Preferences > General > open documents in the new tab in the same window (not checked), but after you turn off the new tabbed interface, all new documents open after the first document are not open in a maximized window, they always opened in a restored window.

No matter what I do, it keeps - on the opening of the second new pdf in this one, restored windows are the things that I tried to overcome this.

1 > right of the DC open Adobe Acrobat click in the task bar > Adobe Reader DC > right click > properties > run: enlarged - only the first document opened in maximized windows, documents later opened in the restored only, window that too seem to not work when I closed the last document in a restored window. Opening in the same window type is part of the windows operating system, it does all the time, "opens the entire application in the same way that they have been closed, either maximized/restored and the size of Windows too". Only the first one application window is open in this way, rest of the windows open is seems to be not supported by the operating system.

  • I want to open a new tab, but keep the cursor in the adressbar. Right not every time I open a new tab, I come to a page with google search and the firefox logo.

Everytime I open a new tab, I'm greeted by this page

    http://blog.Mozilla.org/UX/files/2012/05/Firefox-beta-13-redesigned-About_Home-Page1.PNG?128c42

Is a small problem for me, because when I want the cursor at the beginning in the adressbar. So, if for example, I opened a new page, I type in imdb.com I receive directly on imdb.

Today, however, with the Home tab firefox screen. I have to do a google search for imdb.

A small problem perhaps, but enough to be annoying.

Is there a way to move the settings or something similar, and keep the cursor in the address bar after you open a new tab?

    Hello

If you only want the new tabs do not have home page, you can change it by going in your Subject: config page and replacing "browser.newtab.url" Subject: vacuum. For me at least, if I open a new tab on a white page, the cursor remains the address bar.

In order to change your Firefox Configuration please follow the following steps:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config

and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.

    1. Click on I'll be careful, I promise! to keep the comments: config page.

If you also want to change your home page to a blank page, you can do so in virtue:

    • (on Windows) Tools > Options > general, or
    • Menu

      > Options (preferences on Mac and Linux) > general

Then change the dropdown to "when Firefox starts:"so that it is set to 'Show a blank page'.»

Note that you can continue to do research on the awesome bar and search bar where you want to do a Google search.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • Everyone is having a problem with only being able to do a Google search and then nothing after that. I have to close the browser and reopen it to each search

Since the upgrade to 12.0, I am only able to do a Google search. After the initial search, nothing happens when you try to make another. I have to close the browser and reopen it to each search. Any ideas.

Try to start Firefox in safe mode. This mode disables all extensions, customizations, hardware acceleration, etc., temporarily for the diagnosis and troubleshooting. If Firefox works fine in Safe Mode, then it is probably a problem with the add-on. Restart Firefox in normal mode, and then type "subject: addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions, restart Firefox between each one, until you find the troublemaker.

A few other basic problems you can try things is the following:
Run all Windows updates, install all required service packs, etc.

Updating your graphics driver (Firefox uses the graphics card for rendering and an outdated graphics card driver can cause problems. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers.

Update all of your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/.

Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/. This check allows that there is no virus on your computer, causing problems. You can uninstall this program after having cleaned the infections.

  • The new too short tab page

    Hello

When I open a new tab, I am presented with the new tab page, that's fine. However, in recent days, I've found it does not display the last row of thumbnails (that they are supposed to be 3 rows and I can only see 2 of them). I checked the source with firebug and I noticed the DIV marked with the ID 'newtab-grid' has a max height: 537px defined what makes the page too short to show all lines. I wonder how I can fix this so that the page appears correctly.

    Thank you.

Hi, you can change the number of tiles on the page new tab in zoom in or back (Ctrl and + key, or Ctrl and - key).

You can also keep the same zoom setting when a new tab is clicked: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.newtab.preload and double-click on it to change the 'value' of true to False.

It is also possible about: config to change the maximum number of tiles, scrolling to the browser.newtabpage.columns (or Rows), then right-click > modify to set a new number of 'value '. - Editor of Configuration of Firefox.

As an alternative, you might like to try the add-on new tab tools.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • How can I display the dial in new tabs as before the update of firefox (07/07/12) instead of the new 'most used tabs'

speed dial is my homepage by default and used to open a new tab was opened, now, I get the version of firefox, the most recently visited "tab" happen. Why would I do this with all the other options available. I can just go to the history. Is there just uninstall this new feature to do was last updated, I uninstall the whole update. How do these? Help, please!
    Thank you
    Alex

Have you tried updating to Fast Dial, version 4.2.1 or later? He must substitute the new integrated tab page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-dial-5721/ (Note: I have not tested myself)

If you use a similar module, which is not the same "Fast Dial", what is it?

  • How to return to the new interface of tab with the pinned in the current tab sites

After surfing, let me return to where I started - the beginning, as if I just open the tab where I can see my pinned sites. is it possible in the current tab?

It would be easier to go forward, for example, type or paste or click a bookmark for on: newtab (page 9-thumbnail). The reason why I'm proposing is that when you load the first page in a new tab, it "replaces" the new tab page, so there is no way to come back.

  • "Google search for...". "tab opens immediately, contrary to previously

As of this morning, I noticed that when I select some text on a page and bring up the context menu so that I can click on "search Google for []" it switches to the new tab with Google search, something that has never happened before and I do not wish to take place. I've not verified "when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" in the options and in fact, this problem does not occur with links, with the option of Google search. It is possible that this started three days ago when FF is automatically updated at 13.0, but I have not used the Google search option in the last days. Can someone tell me please how to fix this?

    Thank you
    Ellen

Hey ellenelle, you can enter Subject: config in the address bar of firefox, confirm notification of information (where it appears), search for the preference named browser.search.context.loadInBackground & switch true by double-clicking it. that should bring back the old behavior...

  • When I google search and click on one of the list of possible sites, I get redirected to another different website

For two days, every time I was doing a search on google, I get a list of appropriate Web site options or possible but when I select one of them, it takes me to a website totally irrelevant. When I can use the button/arrow to the left and select the same Web site from the list, need me to correct Web site. This will not occur in Internet Explorer. for example today I searched powertools, selected www.dm- tools,co.uk and had Nettravel. I came to this site a few times too although I didn't choose it. When I googled sought "potatoes" and selected the "Council of the potato" he directed me to the Web of Lakeland site on their page of bag of potatoes.

Probably caused by redirect looking for Malware.

Install, update and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficiency.

Note: If your malware infection is bad enough and you're poorly led to URLS other than what is displayed, you may need to use another PC to download these programs and use a USB stick for transfer to the afflicted PC.

  • popup tabs opens once google search and after key is pressed

Whenever I do a search on google and press the Enter key after, 3 tabs open as a popup and they are not empty (they are on the video management software). Why is it that happens after I press the Enter key after typing in my search queries?

You must close the tab that contains the original announcement, smaller not only ads full page that pop up in new tabs. Its likely a site which you have been reviewed on purpose, one of those ads that you see on almost any site - you probably has not yet noted on this site. Its an ad based on flash which I assume is how he uses the keyboard to trigger instead of needing to click on it, and somehow the announcement is still 'active' even if the tab containing it is not. I guess you could disable flash to get rid of it, but its easier to close the page with the original smaller pub.

  • If it like how I put my Google search and this continues. It keeps coming back on Amazon

My search engine keeps coming back to Amazon. I need to change back to Google every time I log on my computer. I deleted all the other search engines, including Amazon. However, while other search engines remain deleted, Amazon continues to get back on the list. I also applied an application posted here, that was supposed to lock changes to the search engine, but it did not work. Is it perhaps I should contact Amazon about?

CSA can cause this problem, so check its settings and see if it always happens with those who protect the features are disabled.

Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if that helps.

  • Google search and download results (Sentiment analysis)

I am building an analysis of the feeling (sum of the words positive vs negative) I'd be happy to share with you once made. I'm in half way through. Currently, I am able to download the RSS FLOW and analyze them. I would like to know if anyone here has found a way, or knows a way to search google (without having to open a browser) and download the results. It would have been perfect if the link of these results can also be downloaded. I know that this would involve javascript. Can someone give me advice or a way to solve this problem. I would use the TCP connection. Any comments would be grealy appreciated. Thank you

To develop response to James', the example that he linked opens the page in a browser window. Here is an example which uses the .NET, rather than the ActiveX one browser and shows in interaction with the page - http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Mouse-event-in-embedded-internet-explorer/m-p/2853440#M832224

Is not demo reading of the data on the page, but it shows how to interact with him. Note that once you have the URL of the search, you may be able to use the HTTP screws or Datasocket Read to get the HTML code of the pages, but you should always analyze the text of the HTML, which is the page load and a lot of work. You might be better to use something like Twitter, which has an API, as suggested above, or are looking for more organized of the sources of the text. I remember to see a presentation (probably a TED talk) by people who did exactly that - scratched Twitter or Facebook to do analysis on this content.

  • The new connection "Access" tab no longer appears in 4.1.0.19

I installed 4.1.0.19 (with jdk 8u45) right next to my 4.0.3 version.

It starts up fine, picked up all my settings (incl. and the jdbc driver location, connections etc.)) my old version.

But when I click on 'new connection' there is no 'Access' tab (I have SQL Server and Sybase Tabs)

My pre-existing connections to MsAccess database (.mdb file) no longer work:

To perform the requested operation, an error has occurred:

    Class not found driver.

Check the location of the driver

    0 vendor ID

I restarted the old version (version 4.0.3) and he has the Access tab and yet fortunately connects to my (old)! MsAccess database.

    I missed something?

Well, we no longer support access.

Java 8 does not have an ODBC bridge, so there is no way for us to connect.
