  Hello

  Currently, I'm reading the two channels of voltage with the USB-6009. It happens that one of the channels is the output of a digital coder, and it would be much easier to use it directly to the PFIO entry that is defined as a counter. The problem I am facing right now, it's that I can't use the DAQ Assistant to use the analog voltage to a channel and the digital channel counter at the same time. Once I put the DAQ Assistant to read the input from analogue voltage, I won't be able to add analog inputs. And as I put the DAQ Assistant to use the PFIO as a counter, I can add more entries to read analog voltage is.

  I wonder if it is possible to solve this problem using the lower level data blocks? Another solution would be to read two channels in analog input voltage and that the use of Matlab to process data resulting from it, since I was not able to do the counting to work simultaneously with the acquisition in Labview to impulses.

  Using a simple wizard of DAQ is incorrect. You need one to acquire analog inputs and one for the meter.

  Does anyone know how the analog input voltage 6008 invalid handles?  Specifically, what happens if the circumstantial channel is configured for a 0 - 10 range v and a voltage negaitve, (-19.0) volts is placed on the analog input?

  I use the library, C/C++, OR-DAQMx library.  The call that I use to set up the port of AtoD is:

  DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan (taskHandle, AINPSTR, "", DAQmx_Val_Diff, 0,0, (float64) s_dMaxAnalogInputVoltage, DAQmx_Val_Volts, ""));

  where: s_dMaxAnalogInputVoltage = 10.0;

  and

  DAQmxReadAnalogF64 (taskHandle, 1, 1.0, DAQmx_Val_GroupByChannel, values, 5, & not read, NULL);

  to read the circumstantial.

  What will happen if any illegal input voltage is applied.  I know that everything is a wide range, so I don't talk about something like -60 to + 60 volts.

  These specifications are in the datasheet of the product - link to it in the product specifications of the page tab.

  And no, there is no error generated when the input is out of reach.  Scaling the proper entry so that this doesn't happen. or if this is the case, your software recognizes that is higher than expected.

  There is not a problem if you use a wizard to data acquisition for analog input voltage reading simple.

  If you get an error, wouldn't it useful that you have told us what it was, we may be able to explain it?

  I'm guessing that you have error-50103, and if you look in the forums for '50103' (leave out the negative sign), it will give you the answer for this question has only requested thousands of times before.

  I use USB-6001 and want to develop an application to multiple tasks in C++. I try to read several analog inputs at the same time, but got some errors. To put it simply, I copy one of the sample code to read in analog data in a channel, and then turn it into function. Then I call this function to thread with the names of different poles (for example Dev1/ai0, Dev1/ai1) and I come across this error:

  "The specified source is reserved. The operation can not be specified such complete"code of State-50103

  I have search the forums, this may be because I use the hardware timing in this function, and this material timing cannot be used simultaneously by multiple tasks. I may have to put all the lines, I want to read in a single task (such as Dev1 / ai0:1). This way I can read two lines at the same time. However, when I try this, I encounter another error:

  Status code "buffer is too small to contain the data read" - 200299

  So here is my question, what should I do if I don't want to read the multiple analog inputs at the same time? Is the thing that hard time cannot be used by several true task? If I have to read several lines to a single task, how to set the settings?

• iMac with Thunderbolt - how to get the old analog inputs

  I hang up my old Mac Pro in 2005.  I used it to record video cameras and mainly music best of my plate rotating and stereo system - vinyl and CD disks via s-video and RCA cables and Firewire for Mac Pro.

  The iMac 27 "new is primary Thunderbolt and I can't find a Thunderbolt conversion box so I can enter my analog input RCA and S-video signals.  No indication on the Thunderbolt converters 'both ways' I can't exit analog in the iMAC, then the iMac as well?

  They certainly run Final Cut Pro X on the iMAC, then how people get their old media and music in the machine?

  I'm about to talk to the local Apple store, but the chances of finding someone who knows what they are talking about with the iMac, Thunderbolt and analog input is going to be a stretch.

  1) generate continuous 1 Hz ms 45 pulses on three lines of output offset 120 degrees.

  Thanks for posting and welcome to the forums EITHER! I think we can get what you need with the variety of the 6221 37 pins:

  (1) our machines of the M series have 2 counters, so you cannot generate all the impulses of 3 of these alone. A solution would be to use outputs digital correlated.

  Unfortunately, the 37 pins 6221 has only two IO digital correlated, so you should use a strange mixture of digital meters and IO to implement three impulses. It would still be feasible - for example, you might use a counter for a time base for the digital i/o lines and the other counter to the third output pulse. You would have to match the beginning of the two counters to ensure the phase of your signals.

  2) there are essentially two parts to this question, so I'll try to split:

  (i) combine the three impulses together to generate a single sample signal out of. I think this would be doable on a different set of M with a higher number of digital I/o lines correlated using change detection (see the user manual of M series). However, at this stage, we are just out of digital lines correlated to use, and I don't think that's possible on the 37 pins 6221.

  If you use the 6221 37-pin, which you will probably need to do is to provide your own external circuits OR three pulses together.

  (II) get the 5 ms delay to enjoy your second channel. Since you have already discovered that you can sample the falling edge of the digital signal for the delay of 45 ms, you would just add another delay of 5 ms before taste you your second I. You should be able to do this by setting the clock to convert DAQmx frequency (5ms corresponds to 200 Hz). The clock to convert, it's what actually sampling data (keep in mind that the boards of the M series are multiplexed).

  To do this, simply use the property calendar DAQmx node, then select: more > converted > rate.

  (3) this one is easy - we have not yet used all channels of AO.

  So the 37 pins 6221 is a little less ideal because you have not enough correlated digital i/o to make the generation of pulses or change detection - but he has yet to do the job if you can combine the three impulses yourself outdoors and don't mind not using the additional counter to generate the third impulse.

  I have two separate executable screws that need simultaneous access to different channels of the same card PCI-6229.  However, it seems that this is not possible with the DAQ Assistant due to a conflict of resources?  Does anyone know if it will work with the lower level DAQmx blocks?  And if so, how?

  If this is not possible, so if I set up a single executable to make all data capture, how would I transfer data quickly between two executables?

  The advantage of using the SMP library is that it works on different or local computers. In normal operation, you have two PCs each running an executable-> messaging via TCP/IP. If a single PC dies, you can just start the two executables on the same PC and it works in the same way. The only thing you have to change is of course the IP address used for communication of SMP and the map DAQ which must be in the PC running.

  I don't know what HW you use, but most of the DAQ cards with 'only' a timimng engine, which means that all channels are sampled at the same pace. This could be a problem for the part of your control.

  An easy option to solve all these problems (without knowing what you mean with "not many entries analog": buy a second DAQ card!)  :-

  Yes, it costs you more money for the DJ, but it saves development time, which, in my area, much more expensive usually then a DAQ board 1 k $.

• Limit NI9215 analog input voltage range

  I use a NI9215 (mounted in a cdaq 9174) to acquire a voltage signal. I want to keep the tension as an integer and then later convert it to a voltage in the script of Fortran. To do this I need to know the relationship between integers and tension. If I use an unsigned integer I 0 is-10 for example (numbers aren't important as long as I know what they are).

  I tried to taste a voltage signal (see the attached vi), where I have limit vmin and vmax at the return of V-10 and + 10. When I have a voltage outside this range, waiting for the signal to saturate at-10 or + 10 V, but this does not happen. I generally get +/-10.4 V which figure is the maximum range. This range would have been ok if it was exactly +/-10.4 V but it varies from something on the order of 0.5% between the different channels I use.

  Is it not possible to set vmin and vmax that I'm trying to do and if so, what is then the point of vmin and vmax?

  Hi pal_egil-

  I guess you are trying to save time processor or (perhaps more likely) storage space by resizing the data yourself.  I suggest that you use the version of DAQmx Read 'no'.  This will give the most fundamental data type available and will save processing time (because it will not be scaling of tension and then re-scaling to an integer value simple on a linear scale of your application) and storage (because you will be able to store a single value of 2 bytes for each data point of your device).

  So these unadjusted nationwide tension later readings, you'll also want to connect the device scaling coefficients for your module.  These are accessible from the property of DAQmx channel node in LabVIEW, and a description of how to apply them to lectures unadjusted using LabVIEW for NOR-DAQmx.
