CVI for linux and gtk +.

Is it possible that I can manipulate the settings of window user interface as titlebar visible (ATTR_TITLEBAR_VISIBLE) via GTK + or another Toolkit on Linux?  Basically I'm manipulating the Visual attributes of the user interface that are not compatible with Linux such as the visibility of the title bar, minimize and maximize buttons hidden, etc...

In windows, I used the windows SDK to create/manipulate the system tray icon menus.  There may be a similar approach under Linux?

Thanks for reading,

-pete

Hi Pete,.

After a little more research, I found that it is possible to change these attributes, because CVI for Linux uses the X Window System. To do this, you would be able to get a reference to the X Window System attribute by using the function int GetPanelAttribute (int panelHandle, int panelAttribute, void * attributeValue) with ATTR_SYSTEM_WINDOW_HANDLE for the panelAttribute. From there, you can use X Window System functions to change the properties.

Best,

John M

    Hello.

Mozilla has released, on 11 July, FF 5.0.1 to bring increased compatibility with Mac OS X Lion. You said:

Please note: users on Windows and Linux do not need and will not see the updated offer.

Yesterday, I noticed that FF 5.0.1 for Linux and Windows are available.

However, I can't find any credible information on the Internet which is all about. "Notice of security for Firefox", "The Mozilla Foundation security advisories" and 'US-CERT current activity' pages did not mention of FF 5.0.1 for Linux and Windows at all.

Could you please shed some light on this particular and still mysterious version?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, Toshiba provides only the drivers and tools for the OS liveries (M30X: WinXP). But you can search with google for drivers of W2k adapted. I think you will find them!

Win2003 drivers can be a problem because it is a server operating system and there is not so much drivers for laptop available!

  • Setting of baud rate with CVI runtime for Linux

    Hello people,

I have a problem regarding the setting of baud rate with the CVI for Linux runtime.

I want to communicate with a device that has a USB-to-serial of FTDI chip. The driver for this device is already included in the kernel (openSUSE 11.1, 2.6.27.23 - 0.1 - default i686 kernel).

I can use a terminal program (HTerm 0.8.1beta) to open the serial port at/dev/ttyUSB0 and can set all baudrates, the unit supports (38400, 115200, 921600) and communication works perfectly.

Now I take the example of series of NEITHER and go under Windows. I developed to support 921600 baud, and it works very well. So I try to run this example on Linux (I've expanded in order to open/dev/ttyUSB0), but it only works for 38400 baud. If I try to put 115200 or 921600 baud, then I get error RS232-14 (invalid baud rate).

It would be nice if there is someone who can give me a suggestion what I need to do to get the job to 921600 baud.

  • Installation of Hyperion 11.1.2.4 for all foundation and weblogic admin server on Linux and HFM on the window

    Hello

We have planned the implementation of several node, where a server under Linux OS has foundation, OSH and weblogic domain.  Server B on window has HFM.  We know now that we can have single domain web-logic since HFM has no binary for Linux (and we must at least HFM web - app to install if we want common weblogic domain).  In this case, what is the common practice.  Should we local domain web-logic on the server HFM window?  Is there a better way?

    Thank you.

My understanding is that you need one,

#Separate Weblogic domain for the components installed on the Linux box (Foundation)

#Separate Weblogic domain for the HFM components installed on the Windows machine

Such as Weblogic in Linux can't talk to the components installed on the Windows machine.

    Kind regards

  • LabWindows for Linux - glibc2?

    Hello, Hello,

I am upgrading a bunch of my systems of ancient Scientific Linux 5 to 7 (same as RedHat or CentOS). Also, from 32-bit to 64-bit in the process. I was led to believe that the CVI for Linux (13.0.0.29) would work, but apparently it does not.

    When installing, I get:

CAVEAT! You do not have glibc2 (libc.so.6) installed.
CVI is a multi-threaded application and
requires support for pthreads-POSIX 1003.1, this library is
    a prerequisite for installation.
See the file Glibc2-HOWTO on this CD for more information on installing glibc2
source or binary distribution, or additional mirror

I looked in the deposits and it doesn't have glibc2, and I find that some messages referring glibc2 and redhat, nothing useful. So, I am trying to install it on the wrong operating system? Or how it installs glibc2?

    Thank you.

PS: there are no glibc2-HOWTO on the CD.

Nevermind, after watching for an hour, I found the solution 10 s after the validation:

    sudo yum install glibc.i686

  • load the Panel tui does not not on CVI2012 for Linux

We have problems with the panels that look great on Windows being difficult to read on Linux, probably because most of the fonts text and control are VAL_DIALOG_META_FONT under Windows but the CVI for Linux implementation has only NISYSTEM.

As a quick way to test different fonts in Linux I created a file of tui in the file of the uir and then used the global search and replace to change VAL_DIALOG_META_FONT to something that would look like if all goes well decent on Linux.

Problem is that works LoadPanel(0,"filename.tui",1) under WIndows but get error-46 on Linux.

Considering that LoadPanel, 0, "(filename.uir,PANEL) works very well under Linux & Windows but the fonts are very difficult to read on Linux."

Is there a mapping table somewhere magic numbers attribute VAL_FONT corresponding fonts under Windows and Linux?

It would be nice to have some guidance on default font mappings. But at the end of the day, I don't really care much fonts unless the default values are difficult to read.

I guess another complication possible is that the native file UIR CVI 8.5, but CVI 2010 for Windows did not need to "convert".  Perhaps one of the attributes in the file of tui is not valid on Linux, but it is on Windows?

Loading files TUI in Linux, it's a question we've discovered recently and he did not again to the list of known issues. I'm not 100% sure, but I think a solution to this problem would be to manually edit this file of tui and remove these attributes which generates errors. You can start with ATTR_TITLEBAR_STYLE and then look if one of the following are in the file of tui: ATTR_DS_BIND_PLOT_STYLE, ATTR_DS_BIND_POINT_STYLE, ATTR_DS_BIND_LINE_STYLE, ATTR_DS_BIND_PLOT_COLOR and delete them. Then try again to load the file of tui.

On the other hand, I think that there is a solution to your original problem: predefined fonts (VAL_DIALOG_METAFONT) seems a bit about Linux. In my view, there is a way, that a user can change the underlying font and the size of a predefined font. Under windows you can change it in the registry but under Linux, you can set an environment variable: XAPPLRESDIR that points to a directory that should contain a file named cvi, a file where you can write the font settings. Each line must be in the following format: .:. If you want settings you write persistent applications put it a "*"instead of the name of the application. "

The list of possible keys is: appFont (NIAppMetaFont), (NIMenuMetaFont) menuFont, dialogFont (NIDialogMetaFont), editorFont (NIEditorMetaFont), messageBoxFont (NIMessageBoxMetaFont).

The value must be of the following form: --

This is the only line that I have in the cvi file: *.dialogFont: adobe-helvetica-19

  • asking to be a Skype for linux developer

Hello. I looked on the microsoft Web site for a work on Skype for linux and I have not found a job. is there a way I can apply to the development of Skype for linux?

There is no way to apply because, quite simply, there is no employment.

I think that we must accept that Skype for Linux is is more developed. They did him not officially reported, but there is no indication that any additional, major work he will never.

The absence of any form of communication from Microsoft through these forums, the status of the downloads page for this version and the fact that the mods don't seem to do anything if someone swears or breaking the rules all point to 4.3.0.37 the final version of Skype for Linux. I invite a mod or someone from Microsoft, to correct me on this if I'm wrong.

I asked here on porting Android to Linux version and I was told that Microsoft have no news at all on Skype for Linux. If something was being developed that they might say something like: "an update/new version is under development but we are unable to provide a release date for the moment..." "The total lack of news implies a lack of progress or work performed, to the report.

  • Comparison of installation of HCM and Solution Campus 9.0 with Linux and Windows

    People,

Hello. I install PeopleTools 8,53 HCM with Campus Solution 9.0 review 5.
PeopleSoft Internet Architecture is WebLogic11g/Tuxedo11g/OracleDatabase11g with OS Oracle Linux 5.10.

In the process of seting up to its instance named "HRCS90" using opt/PT8.53/setup/PsMpDbInstall/setup.sh database, there is a step like below:

    Database create Type:

    (1) demo
    (2) system of
    (3) system of PeopleTools

Select Demo or system, the next step "select PeopleSoft Applications" has only a single element:

    (1) PeopleSoft HRCS Demo Database - US English.

When set up "HRCS90" with SQL Server 2005 and Windows Server 2003, there is another element: PeopleSoft HRCS Database - English American.

I need not demo database. I need HRCS database only because the demo database is much more disk space.

The document "PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Campus Solutions 9.0 revision 5 Installation Guide" does not specify the detailed process to implement an instance of database HRCS.
I can't find other documents from PeopleSoft to set up an instance of database HRCS.

    My questions are:

First of all, how much more space "HRCS Demo database" occupies only the "HRCS database"? Are there "Database HRCS' for Linux and Oracle database?
Second, you will find the PeopleSoft document about the process of seting HRCS 9.0 database on Linux and Oracle database instance?

    Thank you.

It could be how you have installed the software itself (options checked). Take a look at this thread, it may help.
