    HI people,

been my mid 2010 MacBook Pro OSX lion mountain for a long time. I have a boot camp partition installed with windows 7.

I need to work from home.

I recently got an iPhone 7 and it requires iTunes 12.5, which is not supported by mountain lion so I can't restore the backup of phone of my iPhone 5 to the new phone.

MY internet connection is shocking to iCloud backups will take forever to download then.

So if I decide to move on Cougar to macos Sierra so I can install the correct iTunes to my new iPhone version and thus keep all my old applications and data, will it trash my installation of boot camp windows 7?

    Thanks guys,.

Using a MacBook running El Capitan, can I create a bootable USB key to run Cougar?

Unless you've downloaded the OS X App Store before the publication of the Mavericks Mountain Lion, your only option is a purchase ($20USD) Cougar via the Apple store online. Once you have downloaded the OS X App Store ML using this purchase key, you can then run DiskmakerX top to make a USB bootable (8 GB min).

The current (5.0.3) of DiskMaker X version only works with the Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan. Mountain Lion, to the 3.0.4 version on the developers site. It provides a direct download link to it. I don't know if this old X DiskMaker work on El Capitan.

    Hello

In any case, I followed the steps agree to the terms, etc. And then when I get to the screen telling you to select the disc to install Mac OS X on, I select the drive then it tells you to do this for you connect to your Apple ID, then I comes up with: this element is temporary unavailable please try late agan. And won't let me go any futher.

Apple is not the Cougar on their servers host more or is the computer?

    Just reply to me ASAP

    Thank you

Your identifier Apple never bought Mountain Lion, so you can't install it.

You can buy a DVD of Snow Leopard from Apple and buy a code thus avoiding lion to be used in the App Store.

  • Transfer photos after downgrading to El Capitan in Mountain Lion

I upgraded my Mac Book Pro (mid2009) to El Capitan about 6 months ago. It was horrible and my computer is slower than molasses. I tried to work with it, the best that I could, because I did not save my system before the upgrade. #badmove Finally, I backed up the weekend last and erased the hard drive. Go to the Apple Store today, that they returned to Mountain Lion and it's much better. My problem is that some of my apps (like iPhoto) will not now transfer because she has been saved with the new version of El Capitan.  It is a way to always transfer my photos?

You have a copy of iPhoto that works with 10.8?

You can try to select the iPhoto library, then control - click/view the contents of the package. Do drag the photos on your desktop and then import them into iPhoto.

  • Problems after upgrade to Mountain Lion?

Full of history of BONE: I have an iMac (early 2009 I think) that came with Leopard.  Only 2 days ago did I'm ready to upgrade!  So my Snow Leopard s/w package installed.  So bought the APP store Mountain Lion & installed today.  Now on OS X 10.8.5

Works great except one problem - Facebook is messed up!  Most of my "task buttons" (as the arrow pointing down in the upper R hand corner) does not work!  (Which means I can't send a msg HELP FB.)  It seems that FB does not 'recognize' my mouse.

It is an plugin Apple Magic Mouse, model A1152, EMC No. 2058.  Went to 'Apple' support to see if there was an update of the driver but it seems that they are only available in wireless versions.

    Help!

    Hello Catherine.

Although it may not solve your problem of mouse/FB directly, there are a few things you could try.  Your iMac is probably mid-2007 if it was supplied with Leopard.  You approached support FB.  The shoe is generally on the service rather than the manufacturer of the item.

There is also an update of Combo for Mountain Lion.  You need to download that from this link...

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/dl1676?locale=en_GB

And finally, have you checked that you have enough memory RAM.  Your machine probably came with 4 GB if Mountain Lion would work better with 6 GB.  You can run 6 GB with this iMac.    I have the same (even if no account of Face Book) and even if Apple specifies a maximum of 4 GB, I and many others, use 6 GB comfortably...

  • How to make lion Lion mountain in 2016?

Finally, I ran into software that requires more than a Lion on my MacBook Air. I'm currently under 10.7.5 on an Intel Core i5 at 1.7 GHz with 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. My machine type identifier is a MacBookAir4, 2, also known as the one 13-inch mid 2011.

Should I enter El Capitan before any new system comes out? In other cases, I have been frustrated to find one "System requirements" page for some Apple software or another that turns to omit some little thing and then it turns out that I can't upgrade after all... you know the problem.

Is El Capitan the best choice for this machine, or I can play it safer and perhaps Yosemite or instead Mountain Lion? If so, where are the (semi-) secret (but legal) places to download this upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Your only choice is El Capitan, unless you already have downloaded anything later than the Lion. See the following topics:

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store. To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

  • What is the best solution of virtual machine to run El Capitan in Mountain Lion?

Looking for the best solution run El Capitan in a mac Mountain Lion. I just need to use El Capitan to run xcode.

There are 3 main reasons that I improve my main system at El Capitan:

1 apps that I always trust that are only optimized to work up until the 10,8

    2. I want the convenience of not having to restart my computer to use 1 program.

    3. don't like projector or the interface of the user interface in general of 10.11

Knowing that, what solution recommend you so I can use El Capitan in the environment of mountain lion.

I know only vmware and parallels. Other options I'm missing? What would you recommend?

    Thank you

I would recommend "don't bother." You don't like El Capitan then why do you want what it? If you know how to partition a disk, then install El Capitan on a new disk partition.

  • Lion mountain and suite iWork is not compatible?

Help!  I reformatted my computer (macbook 2008 running Mountain Lion) for my son to use and now impossible to reinstall the suite iWork, I already bought for her.  I can't upgrade the OS (computer is too old to El Capitan and no way to upgrade to Yosemite) when I try to re - download pages or notes or keynote, they say it must be at least OS 10.10.4, which I believe is Yosemite.  I bought these for this computer, then they used to be great!  What can I do?  Computer is has not been updated in a few years because I got a new macbook

    Thank you!

Only iWork ' 09 apps will run on Mountain Lion. They are no longer available at Apple because they had retired just before October 2013.

If your iWork ' 09 apps were purchased through the OS X App Store, then you can reinstall them starting from a Time Machine backup in the Applications folder. If these applications have been installed from the DVD of iWork ' 09, then you will have to perform a complete reinstall since media if you have, or buy from Amazon or Ebay dealers and follow its installation download Apple iWork 9.3 update is specifically for requests from DVD.

  • How to clear El Cap and return to Mountain Lion

    Hello

I need to ask for some advice, because Apple computers are still a little clumsy. I have a late 2012 27 "iMac, and I blindly put on day of Mountain Lion to El Capitan. It turns out that it doesn't play well with Pro Tools 11, and Avid has no intention to develop PT11 to do this. So, I would go back to Mountain Lion rather than pay for the upgrade to PT12 right now. But I don't want to spoil, so I need some advice and clarity, please.

I just finished the Time Machine backup of my system.

I noticed that in my apps, Mountain Lion is sitting there for download. Should I download as the first, or wait until I do a restore (it will always be there if I erase El Cap?)?

The most important thing, I said, I have to do a 'CLEAN' of the Mountain Lion INSTALLATION.

Then, in what order should I do these things? Do the restoration ensures that it is an operation of "cleaning"?

    Any help much appreciated!

    Thank you!
