"Cyclic redundancy error" when burning a rewritable CD (CD - RW)

original title: error cyclic redundancy when burning to a Cd RW

During the collection of material in alphabetical order from my hard drive to a Cd-RW, I had no problem until I got to the section 'P '.  I could not copy all of the files after that.  First error: "unable to read the file or disk.  To try again, I received the error code "cyclic redundancy error".  What should I do?

Hi GeorgiaWR,

Control of cyclic redundancy or CRC errors, usually occur when copying data to a CD or DVD. The error may indicate a bad block, a damaged disc or a hardware problem.

You can read the following article and check:

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media

http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems

Also, try to use another disk and check.

Hope this information is useful.

I have a USB external hard disk which is used to work. Now, it appears as not initialized. When I try to initialize the disk I get "data error. How can cyclic redundancy check"I solve this problem and access the files already on the disc?

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?

Follow these methods and see if the problem still occurs.

    Method 1

I suggest that you check the status of the drive using the disk management and reassign the drive letter, check if it helps.

Change, add, or remove a drive letter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-add-or-remove-a-drive-letter

    Method 2

If the previous step fails then I would suggest that you back up data on an another external drive with other computers and later format the drive on the Windows 7 laptop and check if that helps.

    Hello

    1. How do you try to download the game?

    2. you download from the Web site or that you try to install via a CD/DVD?

If you use a CD or DVD to install the game, this error occurs when your computer fails to read some of the content on the CD/DVD it needs to install the game.

Main reasons for this error on CD/DVD, it's that your drive needs a quick cleaning. It could also be that the CD/DVD is scratched then upwards that the drive cannot read the disc.

I also suggest you to perform a disk defragmentation and check.

Improve performance by defragmenting your hard drive

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/improve-performance-by-defragmenting-your-hard-disk

Try to install the game and check.

  • accident or error when burning

    Hi all

With the help of PRE8.  He worked much for Burns in the first bit, now I've added a new disc menu (general - grid) and some markers memnu.

Now when I go to burn a disc... when he gets to the part where it burns actually on the DVD it says device is not... or something to that effect.  Just tried again and all crashed.  Strangely enough, it's worked sound for these days.

    Help

    Thank you

He has had the same error towards the end.

This could indicate that there is a problem with your HARD disk (hard drive), as it is too full to write the necessary files (remember, that just needs a lot more room to work, pre size files to be written on the DVD). How much defragmented free space is available on your HARD drive?

If you can not burn on the record, something else happens. We must tackle first.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio F60 - error when burning Blu - ray discs

    I have a Qosmio F60

Recently, I tried to burn my data on BD - R 25 gb disc. Aftre burn about 6 GB of data, it stopped burning with unexplained error. I tried another disc with the same problem. This time the suggested message updated firmware. This is MY * A BD - MLT uj240ES blue ray player. I am unable to find any updated firmware update. Current firmware is version 1.10.

Can someone help me on this

    Hey,.

If a firmware update is available, you can find it on the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

If this isn't the case, you already have the latest version of the firmware.

In your case, I recommend to test different brands of blu - ray discs. I have good experiences with Verbatim and TDK discs.
    Check this box!

By the way: I prefer a backup of the data on an external HARD drive. It of safer and easier! ;)

    Hello

I suggest that you try reducing the burn speed in the creation of DVD and check if it works.
Choose a speed slower burn to your DVD recorder as follows:

    1. return to the page Add images and videos on the DVD and then click onOptions.
    2. in the DVD burning speed box, selectmedium orslow.

Also, make sure that you save the movie on the computer and try to burn it.
If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you uninstall any third-party DVD burning software from the computer and check if it works.
