d: critical complete message + reset

JUST REINSTALLED VISTA FROM D:. THEN I went in back and made sure that the only thing on d: is the recovery directory. Yet, windows sends me a warning critical message every 10 minutes. or when back says I have only 8.5% of partition used...
How to either reset this?
OR - disable this option?
non-critical... just a major pain. (a bit like the Congress)
Thank you!

You can't really 'switch' if the "new facility" is what you want.

What you see indicates that maybe you don't have such a clean install as you thought.  -And then I can understand exactly what happened.

You can have several primary scores.  What is important is that one is your system drive.  Is "D" your restore/recovery partition put there by your OEM (computer manufacturer)?

If that's true, then you don't want to do anything.  It is made to be tight on space.

  • New laptop Satellite A - critical battery message

While using the laptop * through food * he died suddenly. The re-start, there was a message that the battery had reached critical level.

It seemed strange that I had been using the laptop through the socket!

Someone know if an initial charge of the battery is required or is it more likely that the power cord has become a little loose and disconnected from the electrical network (without my noticing) which makes the laptop running on battery only?

The laptop is new so should be ok.

    Hello

The whole story is a bit strange. Are you sure that you have connected the adapter to the power outlet? The fact is that adapter sends the power to the laptop and it has priority. The battery will be charged high school.

The question is how many times this happens to you? Have you noticed this time around just or what?
Remove the battery and use your laptop with power adapter only and I'm sure you can use it for hours without any problem.

If this happens often, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. The laptop should be checked by a technician.

  • Laptop HP 15-g019WM: factory reset

Product delivered with Windows 8.1 (not sure if 32 or 64-bit).  Try recovery for a friend who isn't technically able.  Recovery HP to factory using a complete factory resets using all DVD 5, created during the initial setup of the machine.  Have since upgraded to Windows 10, but that the upgrade can be done again after a reset complete.  Am page preparation of Factory Image Recovery and I have the lines of reformatting and copying the files audited.  Progress goes to 12% with 18 minutes from the end and process freezes (several attempts and still freezes 12%). After a long wait, an error message appears indicating that the target drive is not connected.  Tempted to use a DVD player external as suggested in a tech forum, but it did not work as the system cannot read from the external drive. Is there a solution to this problem, which does not require disassembly of the machine to take the external drive as suggested in another tech forum?  Or is it a clean image DVD set which can provide HP that won't cause this problem.

    Hello

The machine originally shipped with Windows 8.1 64 bit (home).

If you wish to order a replacement set of media recovery for Windows 8.1, you can make from then on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-15-G000-notebook-PC-series/6545564/model/6761879/softwareitem/819421-001/STEP1

Another solution, if you intend to upgrade the laptop for Windows 10 once again, would be just to perform a new installation of 10 - as the machine has been previously upgraded to 10, a hardware profile (digital rights) will have been saved by the activation servers.

As long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you just create your own installation media and perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • VISA RS232 read gel-> LV stuck on "reset vi"-> VISA resource inaccessi

I have a simple vi (attached) that reads from a serial port (in fact, a USB to Serial converter) in a timed loop (in case you're wondering why the vi is written the way it is, the instrument that I'm reading sends status messages every 20 ms, but I want only to read an every 2 econds or more) (, so I can safely ignore the rest).

The vi starts fine, but after a number of randmom reads as follows (can be dozens, hundreds or even thousands), it freezes, and nor the button 'stop' programmed in the vi or "leave" button can be terminated. However, LabView is always sensitive to this point, and I can close the VI, which translates into a message "reset VI: [name of vi]" being displayied by LV indefinitely. The only alternative is to force close LV using the Task Manager. Unfortunately, when I then try to access the resource VISA help LV or NI MAX, I get an error message:

    Error opening resource:
    ASRL3::INSTR

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0072) the resource is valid, but the VISA cannot currently access.

The only way to access the resource again is to restart the system completely (even to disconnect and reconnect the adapter USB seems to have no effect).

I found a number of similar positions in the forums, but none contained a solution. I tried to implement some suggestions which is there found (like turning off the power on the USB controller and inserting a delay between subsequent read operations) unsuccessfully (although since I inserted the delay, the problem seems to appear after a longer time).

I also captured a trace of the VISA communication, that I join you. You can see at line 138 that the read operation has not returned. This is the point where the vi freezes. The following messages are the result of me close the vi, force closure LV and then try to access the resource again.

    Any idea?

    Thank you

    Giacomo

    Hi Giacomociani,

You can be a problem is the uncertainty in bytes contained in the read buffer when you decide to read. If the buffer is empty, it can always expect the playback function, resulting in your "hanging" program. Something you can try is a business structure that reads only if a certain number of bytes is in the buffer. That give it a try and see if you still experience the problem.

  • Disc of separation during the reset of the system

I recently bought a new laptop and put my old laptop (Windows 8.1) to my younger sister. Because I had a bunch of files and programs, it will not need, I try to do a complete system reset via the PC settings. I got to the point where I started to re - install Windows, but continues to run in an error.

"Windows cannot be installed on disk 0 partition # ' I click on"View details"and it gives me the message"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is a MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows cannot be installed on GPT disks. »

I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. Can someone guide me through the process?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.

I found another solution, I'll put it here for future reference in case someone else has a similar problem.

I restarted the computer and press F11 to take me to the recovery of the System Manager. Who has accompanied me through the process of compensation to all the old files from the hard drive. He then reinstalled Windows 8.1 from a USB key that I created earlier. Again, the drive in question of partitioning is came. On this site, I found an easy solution that worked perfectly:

To the windows partition screen installation press SHIFT + F10 to open the command line interface. Type the following command:

    DiskPart

    DISKPART > select disk 0
    DISKPART > clean
    DISKPART > convert a GPT
    DISKPART > exit

    X:\System32>exit

That you will bring back to the windows setup partition screen, and then click Refresh and then click Next.

I did, and it deleted all partitions and allowed me to reinstall Windows. It worked perfectly.

  • Mail vs Outlook: Original Message is included as an attachment w / HTML Sig

    Hey all,.

I am looking for help to identify a problem that is either related to Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook (or both), in which colleagues using Outlook appear to not receive the original message of my response as an attachment HTML emails (see attached photo for reference).

Mail users are able to view the complete message (my response with the original post below); However, in the last two weeks or so, Outlook users are beginning to be confused (especially when they do not bother to look at the attachment). I had a single tap me on the shoulder to give me some advice of e-mail etiquette.

I think that this could be linked to the HTML signature I created, you will notice that my signature is also not included in my reply (but is instead included in the HTML attachment).

I place the signature about six months ago, and everything was fine, so I don't know what is different now.
