D630 on Windows 7?

I know that Windows 7 is a 64 bit OS. I don't know if the D630 is 100% 64-bit.

Should I leave my D630 on WinXP or upgrade to Windows 7?

Where can I get support if I update to Windows 7?

Windows 7 x 64 works fine on DELL D630.

Not all drivers are compatible, however. For example, my DVD R/W will burn is no longer a car. Who uses DVD more, though?

I installed Windows 7 x 64 years on a 500 GB drive.

Nowadays, it is running Windows 10 x 64, and it seems to be faster and more stable than Windows 7. What was very good!

I tried to use the serial number, [ADMIN NOTE: Service tag deleted by the privacy policy], in order to obtain the correct driver from the quick set button, but the pilot was offered, R182249, would not load.  The Dell site also does not list Windows 7 in the drop down menu to the operating system.  R182249 is listed as pilot QuickSet for Vista 32 or 64 bit.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

R182249 is for Vista 64 bit only; It will not work on 32 bit OS.

R180762 should load on Windows 7 32 bit, it worked fine for me on a D820.

  • Dell Latitude d630 and Windows 7

Does anyone know why Dell does not support Win7 on a Dell Latitude d630?

This machine was built with Windows Vista 32 - bit o/s on 24 November 2008. The date of the original invoice was on May 22, 2009. Win7 was not released until October 2009. The guy I bought it from had installed Win7 and I don't have the disks of backup or restore with it. It works fine except it doesn't have enough RAM, (which is not a big deal). The problems occurred when I tried to update the drivers and found that there is no driver for this model with Win7. When I called Dell, they said that they do not support Win7 on this laptop.

So I was just curious to know if anyone knew why? I won't lose money, upgrading the RAM if Win7 is going to be a problem.

Although W7x86 lists 1 GB as the minimum, I found 2GB for the sweet spot minimum.

More RAM is always a good investment, and even if you decide not to run W7 on this PC (I hope that your friend bought the license outright to pass on to you), more RAM will be beneficial to XP, Ubuntu or another OS, you decide to run on it.  However, more RAM is unable to completely cure your slow, because this might be a result (partially or totally) infections by malware, software problems, corruption of the file system or a bad hard drive... a reinstall to your specifications may be in order.

You can also try searching the forums (or Internet) to get an idea of real world experiences.  I think that there should be no problem... I managed a few s D830 (similar systems - a step towards the top, but even age/line) at work who has installed and have run W7 flawless.

    Hello

    ·         Since when you are facing this problem?

    ·         Did you change your computer before this problem?

I suggest you to check first if the DVD Rom is detected in the Explorer or not.

If this isn't the case, then I suggest you to run the fixit of the article below and check if that helps.

    How to crash the system?

What is a blue screen crash?

If so, it can help to look at the files minidump against accidents with a debugger.

Can you zip the minidump in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder files and (provide link) available via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

The following link has information about the use of Windows Live SkyDrive:

If you have problems to compress the minidump files copy the minidump files to another location such as a folder on the desktop

In addition, you do not necessarily have compress the minidump files, you can download one at a time.

  • MY CURSOR GOES CRAZY! __

I have this problem in all my laptops - Toshiba (windows 7) (Vista before the upgrade), Dell latitude D620 and D630 (Windows XP PRO) - when I'm typing in Hot mail or using Microsoft Word or Open Office.org. I don't think that this problem is specific to any hardware (mouse or other), but more probably to Microsoft software, that I could not identify.
Most often, the cursor will jump to a place in the paragraph or sentence that I just finished typing, or sometimes he climbs to somewhere in the window/screen laptop that I couldn't find.  This was NOT before a few or several years. It began to happen, maybe for the last 3-5 years in Windows XP. Also, it happens in my Toshiba laptop, as well in windows before vista and now windows 7, when I'm with hot mail or Microsoft word. It also occurs in my Dell Latitude D620 and D630, with windows XP PRO using hot mail or open Office.org.

SO, I'M SURE THAT IT IS A MICROSOFT PROBLEM, SO THEY SHOULD SOMETHING ON THIS SUBJECT. All of the above examples just happened while I'm typing this comment. It of just frustrating and slows down the work that you do!

  • Possible to use Lan and Wifi laptop computer with VMWare?

I have a laptop Dell D630 running Windows 7 as the host operating system.  Normally if you use wifi and you plug a cable lan wifi disconnects because the laptop uses the connection with higher bandwidth.

Is it possible to have the laptop direct is the entrance the guest operating system on lan and wifi running for the host operating system?  In this scenario, the guest operating system could have total control on the lan input and it would not need to be accessible by the host operating system.

    Thank you!

I have no problem to use Ethernet and WiFi adapters at the same time on any of my notebooks including Dell.

If you want to isolate virtual machines to be filled to the Ethernet adapter on the host computer and do not have the host use simultaneously then proceed as follows:

In the value the target adapter VMnet0 virtual network Editor.

Then on the dialog box properties of the adapter to the target on the host computer uncheck everything except VMware Bridge Protocol.

Now with the guest on Bridged they connect to the physical LAN while the host will be able to use the WiFi adapter to communicate with the physical LAN.

We have several Dell D630 laptop computers who have experience of many BSOD per day.  The machines work fine when they are not attached to a network.  However, once they plugin for the network, start the BSOD.  All PCs are under Windows XP SP3.  We have updated the driver for the CARD on a few PCs and no change.  We have applied all MS updates and there is no change.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

    1. how many laptops are connected to the network?
    2. what version of Windows XP is installed on the computers?
    3. do you get an error message when the blue screen appears?

Verify that if the problem exists in Mode safe mode with networking, if the computer works as expected in mode safe mode with networking, and then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.

    a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP

The utility of desktop/laptop must be installed first and then the Pilots of the Chipset or the other drivers will NOT be installed.

How do I install the drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell systems

Because the operating system has been reinstalled you thought to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag (DO NOT SHOW the SERVICE tag here or your post will be deleted, as it contains your personal information) and install these drivers in this order.

Tip then download the drivers, make a folder for each pilot and name it with the device belongs with to make it easier to install in the proper order.

  • Windows 7 drivers for Latitude D630

I just installed Windows 7 with SP1 64 bit on my Latitude D630 (with integrated graphics card Intel, nVidia not).  The system is in place fine and all devices are recognized, although the refresh of the display seems a bit funny sometimes.

I usually install a chipset driver right after OS install, but see that Dell has no download of Windows 7 for this laptop.  Should I use the driver for chipset from the Intel site or stick with what Windows 7 is installed?

Same question applies to video, Ethernet, WiFi, pilots etc...

    Thank you!

The wireless is turned on?  If there is not a physical switch, try the shortcut to toggle (fn - Fxx).

  • New Windows 7 install on D630

    Hello

Have a few questions I hope you people can help me with that.

Recently taken over a Latitude D630 Dell had no HD - was going to install Win Vista Business (COA) with Digital River .iso & actually burned on a DVD as well as the file .iso image (serious on CD) for the specific drivers on this laptop's service tag.

Well, I now have a Windows 7 Home Premium OEM disc.  I wasn't sure if this machine would go Win 7 but it loaded perfectly & we are up & running on windows drivers generic.  Here's the info from the machine:

    Processor, T7300, 2.0, 4 MB, Core Merom, E1 and 2 GB of RAM installed.  BIOS = A13

OK now I'm back to the clean installation of Win 7 in which case the pilots & have a few concerns:

-first tried to let Dell analyse the system & see if she would suggest drivers.  Was told that it was not able to do.

    (1) I see a score =Note for several new systems enter a series number led a set wrong and/or incomplete of the drivers in the system. Does this mean that I can't use the created driver CD to install Vista & go through the list of drivers 65 years or so for D630 (no service tag) & decide which are valid?

Edit: find a number of driver downloads list D630 service non-specific tag that apply to this machine.  So the #1 question is answered.

    (2) in the service tag-specific triggers only A17 BIOS is listed.  In all of the D630 drivers there is also the A18 BIOS?   I only install A17 or jump right to A18?  A18 seems very important & docks the next question on the video driver.

A18 = Intel GM965 graphics video BIOS version 1588, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135 M Video BIOS version 60.86.68.00.16

Edit: Wonder if I should install the chipset driver before anything else.

    (3) obtain a flag to a video card driver.  Found a thread that indicated the driver Intel R180864 must be installed in Windows Vista compatibility mode.  This driver does appear in all files for Latitude D630, does not appear in the specific drivers for this service tag.  It would be the Quadro NVS 135 M.  Then only install the nVidia Quadro in compatibility mode?

    (4) Bluetooth (if applicable) - under the network. For systems with only Windows Vista drivers available: Latitude systems use R231570.  Guess that's fairly simple.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    First question 32 or 64-bit Windows 7?

Reference Dell system software must be installed before the chipset R260746 (64-bit) or R260745 (32 bit). I guess that 64-bit because of the drivers that you have mentioned so far.

The A18 to the BIOs update does not A17 and should be valid for all systems D630. Be careful when you install the update to the BIOs, a failed BIOs update can brick system, but this happens only on a very rare occasion.

You should try to enter your serial number in the original configuration of the system to see what it came with. www.Dell.com > support > configuration of the system (on the left)

From there, you can be able to know what the card wireless and what video card you have. The only other drivers are those for mobile broadband.

    You should have:

    1. Dell System Software (1) R260746 (64-bit) or R260745 (32 bit)

    2. Intel Chipset (1) R153997 (64 or 32-bit)

    3. nVidea or Intel Video (1) R224649 (64-bit), R224635 (32 bit) or R180864 (64 bit), R224635 (32 bit)

    4 SATA (4) R154201 (64-bit), R154200 (32 bit), R154164 (32 and 64 bit), R154198 (32 and 64 bit), R167146 (32 and 64 bit)

    5. modem Conexant, Application and utility under Comms (3) R150157 (64-bit driver), R150152 (32-bit driver) R147123 (64 and 32 bit app) R148605 (64 and 32-bit utility)

    6 Broadcom Ethernet (1) R151326 (64 bit) R151327 (32 bit)

    7 Dell Wireless or Intel Wireless 2 options (1) R295615 (64 or 32-bit) or R239284 (64 bit), R239283 (32 bit)

    8. audio (1) R171788 (64 or 32-bit)

    9 Dell Quickset (1) R182249 (64-bit) or R180762 (32 bit)

    10 Bluetooth (1) R231570

    11 security, UPEK and O2Micro (2) R182329 (64 or 32-bit), R167686 (64-bit), R173506 (32 bit)

    12 Touchpad (1) R165805 (64-bit) and R165804 (32 bit)

  • Windows 7 OEM from Dell on dell latitude d630

Hey all, just have a problem, I would like to solve.

I got my dell latitude d630 my parents last week and installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on it with a dell OEM drive, however, it is not marked as authentic. Why is this?

Use a disc of windows 7 32-bit? I noticed that my great, active vista drive but it was 32-bit

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

You need a license key for 7 Ultimate - if this is what is indicated on the label of the system product key (in the battery compartment), you're ready.  If this isn't the case, you will need to purchase a license key.
