Dalvik cache

Then it updates earlier made clear the dalvik cache in the start menu of recovery to take an incredibly long time. I know that this has been discussed at some point, but no real explanation was ever given. Does anyone know if the Moto X 1st generation suffers from it as well? I was just curious to know if this could be one of the reasons that Motorola decided to not upgrade the Droid Maxx. Did someone never found a fix for the delay to the clearing the dalvik cache? I had many features of many factory and never saw it take so long to clear the cache, it is usually done in a few seconds. I would like to hear of a Motorola technician who understands what has caused the phone to start taking so long to clear the cache after the update. Thank you.

Just to be clear, although it is confusing, the cache partition isn't Dalvik cache. Dalvik cache is stored in the/data partition. The cache partition stores things like log files, temporary files for system applications and system update files, until they are implemented.

I know not why this happens, but my guess is that, rather than a simple format of the cache partition, Motorola began to crawl the system files to remove file by file - perhaps, they are sure wiped or something. I'm not sure.

If I remember correctly, the Turbo on KitKat and Lollipop had the same behavior, but the Turbo 2 on Lollipop is now an instant wipe. See here for reference on the Turbo in 7-10 minutes to erase the cache partition: http://androidforums.com/threads/droid-turbo-reference-and-tips.879102/#post-6797620

The 2013 Moto X also had the same behavior when it has been updated to 4.4.4 (see https://forums.motorola.com/posts/db89ab1a65) and it has been updated to the lollipop, so I would say that this has nothing to do with this decision. It's probably more that Motorola just doesn't have the resources to work on the update and would rather spend on M updates for new phones (unlocked 2014 Moto X, Moto models G, Turbo, Turbo 2, Maxx 2, so updates to security for the platforms that are already on the M.)

  • Feature Wifi and Blueetooth lost Lenovo Tab2 A7 - 10F (Indian model) running Lollipop 5.0

I am a user of Lenovo Tab2 A7 - 10F of the India. Bought this three weeks back. It came with Kitkat, updated to lollipop without any problem. Bloatware rooted and deleted some. Subsequently removed 3 launcher and pushed Apex Launcher system. After completing all the changes I need, I cleaned the dalvik cache and restarted the system. My goal was to remove the root access which I already brought changes that I held. However, I forgot to open Kinguser and revoke access root. Instead, I went and cleaned dalvik cache and reset the tablet. Tablet starts fine, launched with Apex fine pitcher, but he lost two features namely; WiFi and Bluetooth. When I try to turn on those two, it fails to turn on. The toggle switch itself back immediately. I tried to reset the Tablet using default recovery (he is in Chinese, for some strange reason) but it produces the same result, the Wifi and bluetooth turn on again.

Anyone faced similar problems? Anyone has any ideas how to fix this? If not, I guess that the option is to reinstall the lollipop or Kitkat again. If Yes, can someone send me the links where I can download an Indian version of default good untweaked ROM (Kitkat or lollipop). Also I would like to know how to install it. It would be better if there is an option to update the pacifier using default recovery itself, so that I can drop the ROM in the SD card and update. Also my recovery being in Chinese, it would greatly help if someone help me to identify the lines click to update by placed SD ROM

Moderatorss can close this thread. I managed to flash the tablet with Kitkat and stick with it. Not too well rooted. So, the problem is resolved.

Anyone has a solution to this problem other than on factory reset or repair of software? I know for a fact clear the Dalvik cache could solve the problem, but I'm not rooted at this time because the process is very complex and cause the functionality and the loss of functionality.

He is not stuck, but it has at each start. After the boot animation (the one with the white background and the grey lines through the screen), it will show for awhile before going to the lock screen.

The worst thing is that I don't know even what is the origin of the problem this time, because I'm not rooted and adb logcat does not give useful results.

EDIT: Did a repair of software, reinstalled all my apps, and the problem persists. It might be one of my apps, or possibly caused by the deactivation of the stock apps. Whatever it is, I gave up. I have to live with the dialog box.

EDIT: oddly enough after another reboot with the clean install it disappeared.

  • caching of server log entry

Can someone please explain the difference between "stored on the Internet" and "imported"?

I have activated additional recording and it says:

"Since the beginning of server: 1.61 TB returned to clients, 165,28 GB stored from the Internet, 0 bytes from peers, 116.3 MB abandoned; GB any 43.93. »

My best guess is maybe imported refers to iOS clients backups?

    Thank you!

'Imported' means data user uploaded through your server to cache to iCloud.

  • Caching server - you can remove individual files?

Hello, I'm running a server from caching on a Mac Mini 10.11.6.

Today, the iTunes 12.5.1 update came out, but none of my systems are able to install the update of the caching server. Download package, so they fail. I think that the download must be corrupted. I turned off the server and then update of iTunes on one of the clients, and it worked. So I think that the copy on the server is bad.

Is it possible to find and remove the correct file in the packages cached so that it will download a new copy? Or do I have to reset the entire cache?

    Hi W.Loring,

    Try these two suggestions:

    -Run under sudo:

/Applications/server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serveradmin caching settings: LogClientIdentity = true

    /Applications/server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serveradmin stop caching

    /Applications/server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/sbin/serveradmin start caching

    - then check service log hiding in.app for clues

-Check: Configure OS X Server Advanced Cache Settings and set LogLevel, restart the cache service and check the alternative log file for clues.  Remember that performance will decrease with this context.

    hope this helps, dwbrecovery

  • Apple caching server in a Windows domain?

    Hello

We seek to add caching to the Apple services to our WIndows domain. It seems that we need a DNS server to do? Does anyone know the DNS settings, which can be placed on our servers DNS Windows to Apple devices point to the caching server?

    Thank you

If your PC can access the internet using your DC as DNS server (which is the usual case in an Active Directory environment) then you will should not do something else. But a man of what DNS it is, is not the same as another. Anther thing that you should be aware, that's if your environment uses a proxy. In which case you may need to this twist a bit then as caching and access is not limited somehow.

  • Apple devices like iPads don't leave caches in the system? Yes or no.  If yes how system caches can be deleted?

Apple devices like iPads don't leave caches in the system? Yes or no.  If yes how system caches can be deleted?

    Yes.

IOS or system caches are called "Documents & Data" or D & D for short and 'others '. They can be seen by plugging your iOS device on iTunes - on the Summary tab down there will be bar display accurately. They cannot be deleted. The only way to reset is to do a system restore. A restore will reduce the size of D & D and others, but they will start to grow again. However, applications have caches that can be deleted. Safari for example > you can delete all Cookies and data. For other applications, it depends on the application.

The system restore. First save your device via iTunes. Also import your photos on your computer and copy all the data if possible. Reconstruction of the support first test and test. If this does not help, you may need to restore as a new and reconfigure from scratch as the backup may be damaged. It is important to have your photos and your saved data separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a restoration:

  • is there sensitive data in ~/.cache/thunderbird?

    Hello

I'm using Linux. I'm already linked to ~/.thunderbird encryption (which is actually a symbolic link to an encrypted .thunderbird folder). Are there records more 'sensitive' and cache used by thunderbird? I have read all the questions that I found here, but the best suggestion was to encrypt the entire disk and do not use encryption application. Thunderbird has an internal mechanism to encrypt all the data? (I am currently using encfs)

    Thnx in advance
    Spyros

Are there records more 'sensitive' and cache used by thunderbird?

Thunderbird uses the cache the same way as Firefox - for caching of web content.
If there is something "sensitive" with her, it depends on your threat model.

I have read all the questions that I found here, but the best suggestion was to encrypt the entire disk and do not use encryption application.

Encrypt me the entire drive would be more sensible than the encryption of the selective files for certain applications.

Thunderbird has an internal mechanism to encrypt all the data?

Thunderbird allows you to encrypt messages, either by using S/MIME or PGP. It is not encrypt the profile itself.
