DAQ - mx Simulation devices

Hello. I just reinstall Labview 8.2 and I do not see simulation devices in Max MAX is 4.2. All I can see cable RTSI. I used to have simulation devices, but I also installed LAbview 2010 before eval. After the complete reinstalled I can't get it back. I tried several times. When I install new DAQmx (I think than 9.1), it installs simulation devices, but then I lose my vi.lib DAQ - mx directory (don't know why).

Based on the info from NI Labview 7.4 and above should have simulation devices. Any suggestions?

I use Win 7 64 bit.

Thank you

Thank you.  I think that we get no warning because 8.2 supported by Vista, and that's probably just enough good pass install Win7.

  • MAX does not recognize NOR-DAQ traditional (old) devices * HELP

I have a card PCIe-6259.  I want to use blocks of input-output in my program .vi (read Port DIO-DIO Port writing reading Digital Line), so I installed the version of NOR-DAQ traditional (old) devices 7.4.4.   But when I got to MAX (measures & Automation) and look on the left side under devices and Interfaces, I do not see the Tradional-NOR-DAQ tab; I see only the devices NOR-DAQ-mx, PXI, series and parallel system.

Then when I go to run my program I get the error: error-10401 took place in a DIO Port Config Possible reason (s): NOR-DAQ LV: the specified device is not a product of National Instruments, the driver does not support the device (for example, the pilot exited until the device has been supported), or the device has not been configured using the Explorer Measurement & Automation.

So, how do MAX to recognize that I have installed NOR-DAQ traditional (old) 7.4.4?

Thanks for the reply!  I realized this too after going through the files for example... but thanks for the confirmation.

  • Expires on simulated device timer

A timer for a simulated device is supposed to never expire according to http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3698 under theTiming and Trigering considerations relating to the use of simulated devices where it is written "Watchdog Timers never expire."

However, simulated X Series USB-6343, who does not have a hardware timer, indicates it is expired after a check of the property expired DAQmx immediately after the dog start a timer job of guard.  The example attached Chan-Watchdog dig write Timer.vi, amended to include the property expired DAQmx shows this behavior when the device is a simulated device.

Now run with DAQmx 9.4 with no time-out error.  Of course, a reboot was involved, and I don't remember with certainty if I rebooted since the time I first noticed this problem.  Maybe I should have done a reboot before testing with DAQmx 9.4 to ensure.

    Hi Chris,

Sorry, I thought that the System Configuration OR > LabWindows/CVI function appeared when you install OR-DAQmx (after selecting "Custom"), but it doesn't.

Here's what you need to do:

    • Configuration of system OR download: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2613/lang/en (or select from the Driver DVD NOR)
    • Select LabWindows/CVI:
    • nisyscfg.h must be installed in %ProgramFiles%\National Instruments\Shared\CVI\include.
    • nisyscfg.lib must be installed in %ProgramFiles%\National Instruments\Shared\CVI\ExtLib\msvc. Note that it need to link against user32.lib as well.

  • NI 6509 simulation device

    Hello

My question should be simple enough, but I have not found the answer.

I have a NOR-6509 card and it should be possible, according to the different tutorial nor helper I've read, to simulate the device using MAX, without being connected to my laptop. The thing that would be very useful to develop portable applications c# on my computer when traveling away from the office.

"Now with NOR-DAQmx 7.4 or higher, using simulated devices, you can develop, run, and troubleshoot data acquisition applications without going through the applicable material installed [...] A simulated NEITHER-DAQmx device is a replica of a device created by using the option OR-DAQmx Device simulated in the menu create new from MAX to a function or program without equipment. A device OR-DAQmx simulated behavior similar to a real device. Its driver is loaded, and use programs are fully verified... »

The fact is that I can't do work at the same time, my request - for example, the application of WriteDigPort.exe provided with examples of dotnet 2.0 - and a device of NOR-6509 simulated by a task generated to simulate an output port Dev1/port 0 for example. I have a conflict error.

I don't really see not how to simply check that my request goes to the value '1', for example, every bit of my virtual Dev1/port port 0 MAX and seeing the lights 'virtual '?

Ditto for reading: how e chech with a simultaed device that my request is properly read a port that I set to a specific value?

    Thanks much for the reply!

    Hello

You can read output simulated. The simulated device aims to offer the possibility to start the program without hardware; also with a simulation device, you can check if the syntax of your program is correct and check if the data you write meets the specifications for your motherboard.

  • No NOR-DAQmx eligible simulation device

    Hi all

I am developing an application for a PXI-6132, but I don't have the equipment yet, so I would like to start this with a simulated device, unfortunately when I'm at MAX, I see no device at all to choose, so I was wondering what I can do and I can't wait for material to arrive.

I don't want to spoil my installations OR so this is the reason why I ask through this support.

I have attached a few photos on this problem.

    Any ideas?

    I have:
    -LabVIEW 8.6

    NOR-DAQmx 8.7.2

Thank you very much in advance

    Gozto

The real is to solve it (I realize) comes to update MAX, I was working with the MAX which was included with LabVIEW 8.6, so I downloaded NIDAQ930f2.exe and it worked.

Now I am able to virtualize my devices.

I hope this might help someone with the same question/problem.

    Good day.

  • CQI RTD sample.vi with simulation device

    Hi all

I am student on samples DAQ in labview 2009, I have no DAQ hardware, but I faked 9188 NI and NI 9214 (thermocouple). I want to run 'acq RDT sample.vi' devices with these simulated, but when I run the program it displays error "possible reasons: device to which is attached the sensor doesn't have a source of available internal excitement." Select another device with a source of available internal excitation or provide external excitement. ». However, in the web, it is said that NEITHER 9188 and NI 9214 are available for real-time measurements. What is the problem with that?

What Jacob said, is that the 9214 is not designed to work with the RTD sensors.  An RTD is a resistance that changes the value with temperature.  A thermocouple produces a voltage proportional to the difference in temperature between the junctions.  A measurement system for thermocouples need measure the voltage and often compensates for cold junction temperature.  A measurement system for RTD must measure the resistance which is generally to provide a current, and then measure the voltage drop.  The 9214 is not a supply for RTD current circuit.

The specificatioons for the 9214, it seems that it will work with the real time operating system.

  • output voltage DAQ for external device control

    Hi all

I have been using LabView 8.5 to acquire data from an acquisition of data USB Multifunction (1608FS of MCC DAQ) module.  However, I now want to use this device even for controlling an optical shutter, but also to detect the position of the shutter sensor.  Is it possible using this device in LabView?

I had no problems on the side of the acquisition but I was not able to generate any output voltages can any body in this case help.

According to my quick google search, this device is listed as

  • USB-6341 not on the list of simulation devices

I want to create a USB-6341 siumulated, but this model is not in the list of available under devices simulated in MAX X series devices. I don't see in the devices of series X available for the simulation are PCIe devices. I have MAX 4.7, 9.1.5 DAQmx and LabVIEW 2010. I did this on other computers running older versions of the software and saw this device on the list, so there must be a software component that I have installed, but I can't understand what it is. Any suggestions?

Material of the series X USB were not released before DAQmx 9.2; you need at least this version in order to use a simulated.

  • NOR-DAQ traditional (old) devices of measurement and automation explore 4.7 with LabView2010 under Windows 7.

In measurement and Automation Explorer 4.7, with LabView2010 in Windows 7, peripheral OR-DAQ traditional (old) appears under devices and Interfaces and it allows me to create a chassis SCXI-1000, and she agrees "Reset for NOR-traditional DAQ.  However, it does not search the modules in the SCXI1000, and when I ask 'trial', he says 'Impossible to test the chassis at this time.'  The entrance of NOR-DAQmx devices for the SCXI-1000 chassis has no problem and detects the modules very well.  I need the Legacy DAQ to a popular former teaching tool that has no equivalent in NOR-DAQmx.

Unfortunately, NEITHER-DQA traditional (old) for Windows Vista and 7 functions of the only driver on Windows 7 32-bit, as seen on the page of the driver at the end of paragraph 1 Solution. I recommend you move your program to DAQmx.

  • Is it possible to add a simulated device NI DAQmx device or modular Instrument?

    Hello

I want to simulate SMU 8115 module without hardware. Is this possible? If so can I add the device in simulated NI DAQmx device or modular Instrument?

HM, these are several very basic questions...

The controller (8115) is a "full" computer other than housing, power and cooling. At least three components are the chassis, in your case the SMU-1062 q.

The controller can be managed by a Windows base OS (e.g. Windows 7) or in time real ("RT"). So what you have installed on the 8115?

In both cases, communication with this additional controller by an external, laptop or PC is best done by Ethernet. You can use different protocols over Ethernet as a TCP/IP protocol based on measurement or using shared Variables OR.

NEITHER DAQmx is a hardware device driver. The purpose of this is to use a National Instrument based measurement device in a computer. If you want to use a hardware OR your SMU system, it is very likely that you need to have installed on the controller of 8115 DAQmx. DAQmx is available for Windows, as well as regards to the RT

DAQmx in this case of use don't gives you direct access to the devices in the SMU over Ethernet chassis by * all * external computer. You write an application that will run on the DC 8115 interface (or 'relay) data to your external computer.

    hope this clears things up,

    Norbert

PS: You should ask your branch to send someone to you... I think a direct discussion with an employee OR should be beneficial to you. Normally, a sales representative is sufficient as a VRP NOR is quite technical.
