DAQ traditional support in LabVIEW 2010?

Hello

Was this looking for some time and I have to admit, I'm quite confused. I'm trying to run a program written in LV 7.1 traditional use DAQ vi of the LV 2010. I think that what I need are traditional DAQ hardware drivers, but I can't find the right drivers. In addition, I'm not sure if I'll run into compatibility issues. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it a lot!

Old machine:

PCI-6040E

LV 7.1

Win XP

New Machine:

PXI-6251

LV 2010

Win 7

Thank you

A search for ' windows 7' traditional DAQ would have found this post. The link to the beta driver is now broken. I don't know if the beta driver is still available but its time path to upgrade to DAQmx. Version 7.1 has support for DAQmx. Why the old driver was used then?

  • DAQ traditional Windows 7 (x 64)

I changed to Windows 7 (x 64) of Windows XP, with a new PC (need more memory). I am programming for a PXI with LabVIEW Real - Time 2009 SP1 system. There is a map of temperature traditional DAQ running inside the PXI chassis. I read somewhere that traditional DAQ is not longer supported by NEITHER. In fact, the installer to update driver 7.5 Beta displays an error message on Windows 7 (x 64).

I don't want to run Trad. Acquisition of data under Windows but on LabVIEW 2009 real-time. I have it takes rather to programming on my Windows host. Is there no alternative to the use of Windows XP?

I think that it is not possible to use an in general for a NI 4351 DAQmx driver.

For example, in the file Readme of NOR-DAQmx 8.0.1, I found the following information:

Devices limited to NOR-DAQ traditional (old)

NOR-DAQmx does not support the following devices. The following devices are supported only in NOR-DAQ traditional (old):

    ....

    Dataloggers for NI 4350/4351

  • 4351 NI NI DAQ traditional for Vista deploy on RT

    We meet the following problem.

We have several RT platforms with the advice of NOR-4351.

We have developed the software on LV8.2 with XP operating system and now we are again moving PC (laptop almost) with Vista and LV8.6.

We found that the traditional NI-DAQ support is not released the LV for Vista OS (unless the MAX reports that Tradidional NOR-DAQ 7.4.4)

How can we solve this problem?

Taking into account the fact that the software is deployed on the controller of the RT (PharLap)...

    Sincerely

    Hi Luigi,

Have you looked into NOR-DAQ traditional (old) for the beta of Windows Vista?

Another possibility: If you only install devices NI 4351 on the controller of RT and not the Windows PC, you may be able to deploy your application to the controller of the RT of a virtual machine (Virtual PC, VMware, VirtualBox, etc) that are running Windows XP and OR-DAQ traditional (old). (None of these virtual machine solutions supported PCI/PXI devices, but they can run LabVIEW).

  • The PSC-2000 is programmable with LabVIEW 2010 SP1 / Real Time 10.0.1?

As the support NOR documents indicate, you need LV version 8.5.1 or earlier to program the cFP-20xx devices family.  Version 8.5.1 of LabVIEW does not work under Win7.  You will need Windows Vista or something earlier like XP.

While it is for 2011, I doubt that they decided to remove 64-bit compatibility as they went forward as 64-bit has become more rather than less demand.  In this document, notes LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit does not support 64 bit versions of MATLAB application software."

The extent of the compatiblitly for 32 - bit, I'd take a peek at: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D174674A91E5536286257428005C2426

The OP's question was SIT support 64 - bit version of LabVIEW and 64-bit version of the MATLAB/Simulink itself, not the operating system software.

Document in your second link is on a completely different topic to have API for LabVIEW and MATLAB/Simulink/RTW (well, mostly Simulink & RTW). Here is the relevant link for the 32-bit compatibility: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/049295038FF0EE2A86257A06006B2DAD is no SIT 64-bit.

Other underlying issues is that Pharlap does not have a 64-bit version. Finally, simulations are better performed on some RTOS (embedded PXI) for a deterministic execution rather than PC operating systems.

  • PCIe-653 x with DAQ traditional

    Hello

We want to update some of our network using a PCIe-6536. Is it possible to run this card with traditional NIDAQ?

Does anyone have experience with the PCIe-653 x with DAQ traditional. Or is it only possible to run this card with DAQmx?

    Greetings

    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,.

PCIe cards not are usually not supported by the old traditional DAQ driver.

In any case, you should consider updating your application to DAQmx as TRANS. data acquisition support is quite limited (see also the official statement of OR below)

    "Caveat ".  NOR-traditional DAQ
(Legacy) is an older driver with the obsolete application programming
    interfaces
(API) for the development of acquisition data, instrumentation and control
requests for former of National Instruments DAQ devices. You must use
NOR-DAQ traditional (old) that in some circumstances. Refer to the
File Readme of NOR-DAQ for a glimpse of the two API NOR-DAQ, the
    benefits of
NOR-DAQmx and more information about when to use NOR-traditional DAQ
    (Legacy)
including a complete list of devices supported, operating systems,
    application
versions of the software and the language versions. You can install the most recent
    version of
    NOR-DAQmx software, available at ni.com/downloads.

  • MAX does not recognize NOR-DAQ traditional (old) devices * HELP

I have a card PCIe-6259.  I want to use blocks of input-output in my program .vi (read Port DIO-DIO Port writing reading Digital Line), so I installed the version of NOR-DAQ traditional (old) devices 7.4.4.   But when I got to MAX (measures & Automation) and look on the left side under devices and Interfaces, I do not see the Tradional-NOR-DAQ tab; I see only the devices NOR-DAQ-mx, PXI, series and parallel system.

Then when I go to run my program I get the error: error-10401 took place in a DIO Port Config Possible reason (s): NOR-DAQ LV: the specified device is not a product of National Instruments, the driver does not support the device (for example, the pilot exited until the device has been supported), or the device has not been configured using the Explorer Measurement & Automation.

So, how do MAX to recognize that I have installed NOR-DAQ traditional (old) 7.4.4?

Thanks for the reply!  I realized this too after going through the files for example... but thanks for the confirmation.

  • Is the combo box drop-down "Targets" in LabVIEW 2010?

    Guy of OR,.

In LabVIEW 2010, I installed the touch screen module but 'Touch Panel corresponding project' does not appear in the list of "Targets" of the "Getting Started" initial LV window. The Add/Remove dialog box confirms that the module is installed... Is - can be changed?

    Thanks in advance

I think that the Touch Panel project should be added to the drop target when you install the Touch Panel Module.  As this isn't the case, I think it's a bug.  Thanks for pointing out that, and I will file a request for corrective measures to get changed for the next editions of LabVIEW.

  • Labview 2010 8.1 Windows executables

    Greetings,

My development computer is a Windows 8.1 with LabView 2010 Professional machine. I created a project and published an executable with success. Obviously this works on my development system.

However, I have another machine Windows 8.1 (new installation, nothing about this). First, I installed the runtime Labview 2013 because (a) I thought that it would be compatible for older versions, and (b) it says it supports the Windows 8 operating system. Unfortunately when I tried to run the executable it gives me the following error:

Could not locate the LabVIEW runtime engine.

.. .requires a 2010 version (or compatible) Labview engine of execution. Contact the seller to [name of program] to correct this problem.

Okay, so I uninstalled the runtime of 2013 and restarted. Then I installed 2010 thought that is what it takes.

Gives me the exact same error as above.

I saw similar problems of windows 8, but nothing I could find about it.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

Why install the runtime 2013 when you have an application of 2010? You must also install the appropriate number of bits of the runtime.

Why not simply create an installer?

  • NI4350 (PCMCIA) and NI DAQ (traditional)

I'm trying to get a NI4350 to work with VC ++. I downloaded and installed NI435X252, which is supposed to be specific to this device. When I use the Group MAX, the device appears and test panel shows that temperatures are read, if the equipment is operational. There is no other product OR installed on this machine.

The problem is that when I use the functions in nidaq32.lib, I always get the response status-10403 (if the device number points to the device) or-10401 (if the device number is incorrect), so NIDAQ works. -10403 means that the specified device does not support the requested action. I get this for ALL functions that I tried to call, including AI_Read(), AI_VRead(), AI_Check(), DAQ_Rate(), SCAN_Setup(), Timeout_Config(), DAQ_DB_Config(), DAQ_Start(), when running the examples provided.

Is there a specific startup sequence that is needed? I have not found something like this documented.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi aditus2,

Installation is not without is a known issue with NOR-435 x 2.5.2, however the 2.5.1 version doesn't have this problem. It is the link below:

    NOR-435 x 2.5.1 - Windows XP/2000

During installation, select the media of Visual Basic and LabWindows/CVI. This will install a few examples that you can model your application around. Also to more completely answer your first question, driver OR-DAQ only supports devices 435 x with LabVIEW knowledge base by following the link:

  • Conversion of a VI that uses OR-DAQ traditional to NOR-DAQmx

    Hello

I'm trying to convert a VI that uses OR-DAQ traditional to NOR-DAQmx.  I'm almost there, but when I run my new rear version number 'read' and 'scan' are not the same.

In the original version the "number read" always came back as 1 and "scan" backlog is always returned as 0.

In the new version, "number readings" and "rear scan" could come back with any value.  It's sure to shake my recording of measures and VI the interaction with the rest of the program.

I have attached a light version of the VI for the old OR-DAQ traditional and new OR-DAQmx that illustrate this problem.  The two VI is written in LabVIEW 2011 SP1.  I would be willing to upgrade to SP1 2013 LabVIEW if it would help solve the problem.

I would be grateful for any guidance.

    Thank you in advance.

I think I did.  Use-1 to erase everything in the buffer when the program is waiting for the countdown to the end and then just ask for 1000 measurements when the countdown reaches 0.  Do not need the Scan back or number reading.  Also don't need to add the measure in table 1 at a time because I get them all at once.

I enclose a copy of my solution for all those who might need to do something similar in the future.

  • Need help to convert DAQ traditional subvis DAQmx configuration

I need to convert these screws (of NOR-traditional DAQ) to be used with a new data acquisition card that supports only NI-DAQmx.

    Please help me in this...

Can I use the same traditional NI DAQ VIs with the NI PCI-6221?  If so, how? This device can be configured for NI DAQ traditional?

NOR has several resources to help move tradtional DAQ DAQmx. A good place to start is the getting started page. There is a tutorial on how to transition. There is also the compatibility screws which replace certain traditional DAQ functions with wrappers around functions DAQmx. The DAQ example you posted is pretty trivial and really shouldn't take a lot of time to convert once you get a basic understanding of the DAQmx.
