DAQmx constantly firewire PCI card

Hi all

I have a map of acquisition data NI PCI-6221 here and use DAQmx and LabVIEW 8.6 to start some counter and tasks of the AO. Everything works very well. The problem is on the same PC, we use a firewire PCI to control the Aerotech motion stands. When the DAQmx tasks start Aerotech motion steps disabled! I guess there is a monitoring function on the update of the firewire card controllers and somehow NI DAQ travel that guard dog. We need to do some research more but thought I'd post today to see if someone has solved similar problems.

TIA

-Martin

Just an update-

Never really gone at the end of this problem of driver but worked around it by replacing the PCI DAQ card with a USB version.

Now all the work as expected with zero code changes.

  • need express pci card with firewire port laptop brand new

My wife has just bought a HP Pavilion model h8 - 1260t with Windows 7 64 bit.  She has a 30 "monitor film screen, which requires two USB ports, a DVI and Firewire 1394 port.  The new computer has no firewire port anywhere, but when it is opened, we see there are three slots PCIexpress available.  There are PCIe cards available 1394 (such as Rosewill PCIe model 3 Ports 1394 b RC-506E, as seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815166027), , but there seems to be a wide variety, and I don't know which to buy.

I am concerned about what transfer speed to get (I don't really know; is good enough 800Mbps?) and what power connector on the card (I want to be sure we have a power supply compatible plug) will take place, and I don't know the difference between 1394 and 1394b, or even if it makes a difference.  I can't just take the card out of the old computer because the firewire port is connected directly to the motherboard, and I think that the old computer is still pre-PCIexpress

The monitor is very good and quite expensive, so we really do not want to have to buy a new screen after spending so much on the computer.  I thought I had checked for compatibility with everything, but I guess I missed the requirement of firewire.  We spent almost all day today trying to get help in various stores, but nobody seems to be able to help.  We had to buy the computer online because there is no good nearby computer store, so I want to do ot I do not another mistake and end up buying two or three cards until I find myself on the whole correct.

Thanks a lot for any help

    Hello

If you cannot find a molex connector 4 unused and then look for a connector used 4 pins.  I would certainly find an adapter in Y for you.  The other option is to use an adapter SATA Y more than molex and tap into the hard drive power cable, or even use an unoccupied SATA power port.

  • How can I install a full-size pci card in a Slimline desktop environment

I got a s5623w computer Slimline of office for a gift.  A year later I wanted to install a pci card hardware to capture analog video and transfer it to digital to my computer.  Well, I've been very disappointed and found that the map is too long.  What type of equipment or upgrades can even installed in the slimline computers anyway?  Is there a way for the size to connect to this computer?  The material I want to install has taken to a VCR and a port IEEE 13694 (who was left out of this model, why I have no idea) is it possible to install it or did I just lose a lot of money.  Or is there a special place to purchase these short hardware PCI cards?

Please consider using a video capture device / USB like these for VCR (analogue) type signals. In regards to a Firewire/1394 card, consider the SYBA Low Profile PCI-Express 1394 b/A, StarTech PEX1394B3LPor SIIG FireWire 400 PCI Express x 1 rack w/LP

  • PCI cards with USB 3.0 or eSATA for a Mac Pro 2006 (1,1)

    Hello, Apple people!

I got my hands on a Mac Pro 2006 earlier from a friend. I used it as a BESTIAL Server (seriously, this thing is not so much as breaking a sweat even when I throw it the more difficult task.) I love this machine) since I got it, and I think I want to do the updates. My plan so far is to get multiple mounting OWC to pick up the second drive Bay currently vacant DVD and install two 120 GB Samsung 850 EVO drives in RAID 0, while using the real HARD disk bays for a RAID 10 array (nested RAID: two RAID 1 arrays brought together in a RAID 0 array) of four 2 TB red WD drives and use two 250 GB hard drives currently in the machine in an external case in a matrix RAID 1 for backup. I'm pretty happy on this issue.

My question concerns what interface to use for external drives of 250 GB. I can use:

    • USB 2.0 currently on the machine
    • FireWire 800 currently on the machine
    • a PCIe USB 3.0 card
    • a PCIe card with eSATA

That we will get the faster speeds? I know that, theoretically, eSATA would get faster speeds (6 Gbps eSATA vs 5 Gbit/s USB 3.0 vs 800 Mbps, Firewire 800 vs 480 Mbps USB 2.0), however I know also (maybe?) that the Mac Pro I have only has grooves in v PCIe 1.1, with a (supposed) 250 MB/s maximum data transfer rate. would this bottleneck a PCIe USB 3.0 or eSATA card not worth?

Note: don't worry all "Mac compatibility" with PCIe cards (or the table RAID scheme I mentioned). I am running Ubuntu Server (64 bit) on the machine, and given that the Linux kernel supports much more conductive than Mac OS X, I probably don't need to look at all the other drivers. This issue is specific to the hardware capabilities of the Mac Pro.

Probably the most simple installation, you can do is to install the eSATA extender cable adapter.

  • FireWire adapter card problem

install an adapter card 3 ports firewire pci to capture images vdeo in my sony dv camcorder. When you try to capture or import video in movie maker and sony vegas 8 it detects no connection, but it says in the device management page is connected. Any solution please?

Unfortunately it is all hardware problems - Yes, even when dealing with drivers from manufacturer of hardware (software) that allows the hardware to communicate with the operating system (OS) you have chosen to run.

I would check that the firewire card manufacturer, you chose to use supports the device you have (by model) in the operating system you have (Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit?) and that you have installed the latest driver, they have available - see their web page.

Ditto for your Sony camcorder.  Latest version of the Sony software.

I installed a Western Digital SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Express (PCIe) card. Then I discovered that my diet was already within its nominal capacity output when the computer was shipped. Now, whenever I have a USB device that is connected to the computer, it didn't matter if it is a USB 2.0 or 3.0, the chart shows a decline in the quality whenever I would like to start or restart the computer. If I start the computer without any device USB 95% of the time it would start the graphics in the way it was supposed to be. With the clarity of high definition. I know that I must remove the PCIe card, but my questions are:

    1. If I just uninstall the drivers and let the PCIe card in place if it will still support power?

2 should I replace the power supply, after you fix this problem?

    3. is there a way to test the power subsequently to ensure that it is correct?

    4. If the withdrawal of the PCIe card is the best method. What is the procedure to remove? Out the PCIe card and uninstall the drivers through the Device Manager? If so, in what order? Card PCIe controller driver, driver finally hub?

5 leaving the drivers installed and just released the PCIe card be a better idea? If ain't broke don't fix it...

    6. If I let the drivers installed, but get out the PCIe card drivers would say the power supply to power again?

    7. If I take the PCIe card that you call the part that I'd buy that connects to the hole in the back of the tower and what size would I get?

Thanks for your help! Even if you can only answer some of my questions, feel free to jump in.

Replacement of the power supply is a common practice. It's a question that is asked constantly. If your power supply is at the maximum, then replace it. It is not all that difficult to accomplish. Even a slight upgrade with a 85% effiecient PSU is a plus.

  • Add a Firewire expansion card to my Pavilion slimline 5210t

Can I add a Firewire expansion card to my HP Pavilion Slimline Desktop 5210t? Using Windows 7 64 bit. Any help you can provide about what to purchase or installation will be appreciated. I am trying to download movies from my Sony Handycam which uses the digital 8 mm band and has an output of firewire 4 pin.

    Hello:

It is the only card that I could find that would work with the low-profile chassis has your PC.

Please feel free to look around a few others.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16815124072

Your choices are limited due to the fact that your PC requires a flat mounting bracket to secure the card.

The motherboard on your PC supports the two PCI express or PCI cards (there are 2 PCIe x 1 slots and one PCI slot as shown in the illustration below (white parallel slits at the bottom of the motherboard).

  • DVI PCI Card/s for G3 minitour

I am a new Member of this forum and I hope that someone has the necessary answersI. I have a Power Macintosh G3 Beige minitour @ 333 MHz, and I'm on OS 8.5.1. There is a reason, I must stay with OS 8.5.1.

I am wanting to know if there is a Dual-DVI PCI card that will work in this machine, so I can run two monitors via DVI in order to get a higher resolution than is available with VGA. My understanding is that VGA tops out at 1280 x 1024 and I need just a little more.

If there is not an available Dual-DVI card that will work with my setup, how about two single DVI cards? If, by chance, there are two ways, that would be better and two monitors can also..., run off PCI cards without involving the port of regular monitor of the factory. If the port of the factory to be used, is there an adapter (or adapter cable) him/DVI.

I know it's several questions, but get them out of here, in my first post may save some back.

    Thanks for any help, Tom

    Hi & welcome!

In fact, VGA will give you more resolution than DVI.

    Radeon 7000

The 32 MB memory DDR (Double Data Rate) will also help, allowing your computer to display very high resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 at 60 Hz if your analog monitor supports. Resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 are supported using digital flat screen, depending on the individual abilities of your LCD monitor.

There are faster cards still better, but more rare and the fastest I had were Formac cards, can have a couple somewhere here.

  • Satellite A30 - 303 install wireless mini PCI card internal

    Hello
I am installing a PA3300U (Atheros) mini PCI WiFi internal card and have a basic question that I hope someone will be able to answer. There are two cables, white and black (under the cover of the wireless card on the case) which I suppose are for the internal antenna. The question is where do these attach to on the mini-PCI card (unfortunately I have no instructions for the card mounting)?
I'll be very grateful for any assistance with this.
    Best regards, Dave.

    Hello

I don't actually see one of the Atheros cards, but on other brands, there are two connectors that are marked with the HAND and to THE.
A white cable normally goes to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltage

  • Startup gets "Network cable unplugged" on (new) wireless mini-PCI card

Repost in the previous topic was locked, but has not been resolved. Original post below, please see previous post for more details

I recently installed a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and now have intermittent problems connecting my Tecra 9100. If the 9100 has been off for awhile (like overnight), when I restart I get always "Network cable unplugged" for the wireless connection. Reboot several times (anything from 3 upwards) I finally get connected to the router and everything then works fine for hours. Even a quick restart at this point (that is, once that the wireless adapter is connected) does not cause a problem, but as soon as I leave the stop of the machine during a time he fails again on restart.

There are no errors in the event log.

I am using wireless mini-PCI cards and have already updated to the latest version of the driver.

Any ideas gratefully received, for now every morning is a 20 to 30 minutes of rebooting frustration trying to get my connection work.

    (Running Win2K professional)

    Hello

I have the same problem if I stand for laptop and access point at the same time. If the access point is already in use, the connection is established shortly after. First the access point must establish a connection to the modem. Now the wireless connection is not available.

I guess after the second reboot, the connection between the AP and the modem is already finished and you can use the network wireless successfully.

    Good bye

  • Satellite 2450-101 Mini PCI card please

I have a Satellite 2450-101, which is longer under warranty. I upgraded the memory and noticed a mini-pci slot with two waiting for a card antenna cables. I need a g card (the 3300 looks like a good bet). The manual refers to a mini-pci slot and the CD from the laptop comes with Atheros drivers for the same... I am currently using a PCMCIA card but want to spend money with Toshiba to get a good onboard solution. I called Toshiba who say that he is not a slot in my laptop... Please please don't refer me to a partner because I've never actually talked to one yet. Honest answer please... can I mount a mini-pci card... is the 3300 OK, and how do I join the cables (if this is difficult, I won't)...
    Thank you

    Hello

I found information that your device is ready for the Mini PCI Wireless card. As you know on the wireless card there are two connectors that are marked of PRINCIPAL and auxiliary normally a white cable goes to the ESSENTIAL and a black to the auxiliary voltage

Sorry, but I can't tell you exactly what wireless card will be the best for you. In my opinion, you should contact partner in your country. I'm sure they can give you correct information, which is compatible with your device and how much it will cost.

    Good luck!

  • A30-151 Mini PCI card Possible?

Hello everyone, I have a Satellite A30 151, which says that the manual site and toshiba, is capable of receiving an internal wireless Mini PCI card, the site lists even more compatible models(PA3300U-1MPC). However, I rang Toshiba support they said initially the cell phone was not compatible, but seem to display of their minds and say that the site must be right. Has anyone installed one of these cards for an A30 151? I opened the slot of the wireless card, it has a slot, but no antenna wires that I could see, swich wireless is also absent. Hello

Toshiba Support gives you the right information. You can use Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (802. 11 b / g) PA3300U-1MPC.

Don worry on on/OFF switch. You can turn on/off in Control Panel > network connections.
