• Dashboard houses alarms double after upgrade - how to remove a?

  After our upgrade to 6.6.1 we found that we have now 2 instances of the "Alarms" Dashboard under the 'houses' list in the left pane of the vFog. I can't find a way to remove one of them because we need one. Anyone know how?

  Could you please try as below:

  Click on the dashboard of the alarms 1-> open the right action-> Sub panel general tab see if you s it y an option "make this my homepage.

  If so, click on "make this my homepage".

  See if the options of 2nd alarms disappears from the list.

  If you don't see the option 'Make my homepage' on the dashboard 1 alarms, try the 2nd dashboard alarms & follow the steps above.

  Later, you go to what is your current home page.

  Disconnect & reconnect (just to double check that replication has disappeared from the list of houses)

• Link results in two on a single dashboard analysis reports

  Hello

  I thought it would be easy but so far I've had no chance of finding a solution.  What I want to do is to create a dashboard with two different analysis reports (both with views of table).  When the user clicks a line on the first analysis, the data on the second analysis is updated to show only the data based on a common key-filter value.

  For example, if displayed A analysis of the sales by year and B analysis displayed by region, when the user clicks on a line of analysis, the results are updated on the B analysis to show only the data for the selected analysis year a.

  Basically, I want to have the same functionality as the events of master / detail that is available for different views within an analysis, but put it implemented on a dash between two separate analysis reports.

  I am applying 8.5.1.4 patch for OBIEE by following instructions from '8.5.1.4_README.htm' below:

  Ok. If it was a browser issue. Things were not visible correctly on Chrome (ver 37) and IE (version 11). I then tried on IE (version 9) and Firefox (ver 32) and it worked!

• Origin of the dashboard alarm

  Hi all

  I played with capacity of Foglight to monitor for specific events in the Windows event logs.  I have it working (I think!), but face a slight problem.

  I copied the OOTB EventLog rule and renamed it as the name Windows event log.  The OOTB EventLog rule has been disabled and the rule of the name of the Windows event log is enabled and customized.  Fires the rule very well, but in the dashboard of the alarms, the origin is displayed as simply EventLog - whenever we copied and renamed the rules in the past, the origin is defined correctly for the name of the actual rule, that is the name of file system capacity.

  As you can see, in the dashboard of the rule management, alarms are all recorded against the OOTB EventLog rule disabled rather than the name Windows event log rule enabled.  Is it possible to change this original?  The reason why it is important, is that we have operators who monitor the dashboard of the alarms and they have a filter set to 'name' - in the State, they would not see this alarm and would not therefore not take appropriate action.

  Either incidentally, we also have LogFilter rule, which seems to be very similar to EventLog, and its origin is displayed correctly in the dashboard of the alarms.

• Dashboard of the alarms to expire

  Hi all

  Anyone had a similar experience? Our dashboard alarms even expires when the time range is set to the last 4 hours and the County of alarm value 100. I know we have a lot of alarms, but I don't mean to get all the alarms. It's bad Foglight reputation within our society, I don't like people to think that Foglight is slow.

  Then I looked at the definition of dashboard and found the question is an WCF application called something like alarms alarm/Histocal. When I tested this application, it also has expired. BTW, our timeout value is 60 sec which is fine, I don't want to wait more than 60 seconds to see my alarms.

  We are always on FMS 5.5.5, do not know if the dashboard of the alarms were improvements in newer versions. I just wanted to ask if they are facing the same question to the community.

  Because it aims to tell the people to do their troubleshooting in Foglight, I decided to make my own dash of the alarms based on the AlarmService API and a few days later, I got it to work and it has a filter too. Without using this request of WCF, my dashboard of alarms is very fast, it takes seconds.

  Quest will improve the performance of these dashboards? I remember that I had to modify the dashboard failure because there was too much delay.

  Yes, the performance of the dashboard alarms has been significantly improved in the FMS 5.5.8. You will see the best dashboard performance and many new features and improved when you upgrade to version 5.6.

• Auto-refresh an analysis in the dashboard

  I use OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0. I have indicated in my dashboard analysis (I'm not showing the link refresh to this analysis in the dashboard). The database is loaded automatically every 5 minutes and BI server cache is disabled. Therefore, I have to automatically refresh the analysis (not the dashboard) every 5 minutes, so that the analysis can show the latest data.
  
  How can I call the link of the updating of the analysis (even if I'm not show in the dashboard) every 5 minutes? Is it possible to create a JavaScript script that call this link Refresh every 5 minutes? Or y at - it alternative to achieve this requirement?

  The under use of the code in the text object by selecting the HTML when you use pls uncomment or take-out / / to see the results. To test this situation, I tried using the time for each interval of 5 seconds.

• HowTo generate by ESX report alarms?

  I use vFoglight v6.1 pro to monitor my VMware Lab Manager environment.

  It is needless to mention that I get tons of alerts several types.

  As part of my effort to reduce the amount of alerts vFoglight, I disabled a lot of alerts under Administration--> rules Admin &--> manage rules.

  I left only referring to my ESX memory alerts | swap | CPU which gives me more visibility of the State of my environment.

  The thing is I'm having a problem generating a statistical report that will give me specific information on how alertsI have on each of my ESX hosts by type.

  I need an easy way to show more of memory or cpu required and prove the increase of resources actually solved the problem.

  This must be done through vfoglight level reporting.

  I'll be happy to get assistance to each and every one of you, if you know the inner workings of the vfoglights.

  Here are a few steps you can try:

  Navigate to the home alarms

  In the upper right corner of the dashboard alarms, set the time interval, you are interested. For example "7 d" for 7 days.

  To the right of the table of alarms in half the dashboard lower alarms, click on "filter alarm.

  In the field "Origin" on the popup filter, type in "VMW ESX" (this will filter the alarms for ESX most of alarms)

  The results of all ESX alarms for the last 7 days will be displayed, use the error Instances see the breakdown of the alarms tab how by host, but also the history of the health of these hosts in the selected time interval

  Use the Customizer button to export the alarms to Excel, and select export (it's the last option when you click the customizer, screenshot see attached)

  You can open the dashboard of alarms (table) and then export (click the customizer right) messages to a file.

  I am facing a problem of weblogic server in my previous installation of OBIEE11G is why I install fresh copy to the new server. I make a backup of my project(Dashboard+Analysis) and put it in the folder E:\Project now I want to open this project of E:\ By car, but in the responses, it only shows MY ACCOUNT & SHARED FOLDERS. How can I change the path or if it is not possible then when I paste this folder appear in the answers.

  You must place your objects in the path of the web catalog.

  Or you can also point the web catalog to another folder.

  You can check where your current web catalog is in Enterprise Manager in "Deployment" > "Repository" and there you have the path "BI-catalogue presentation.

  Be aware that you may have problems with permissions on your copied objects as you're not really supposed to make copies of the file system of the web catalog, but ideally, use the catalog to archive and Unarchive Manager tool, but nothing that cannot be fixed when this happens...

  What other dashboard widgets do not exist outside of the Pan, the line/bar/stacked graphs etc that all seem to be the standard custom builtins?

  I'm looking for speed counters, cards chart with 2 vertical shafts, ability to change the color or the width of a line when traffic varries, a spectrogram chart, stacked or graphic combination vertical bar with a line chart superimposed, etc.

  Probably just haven't downloaded the right module.

  IM evaluate vFoglight vs Veeam One in our VMware environment, and I have a few questions I can't fix.

  -J' I need to display all data warehouses with an option for a provisioning (how well stocked and how is used/free). I couldn't find this option.

  3.) Yes, there are many roles that can be defined. You can link these roles Auditors AD. Under the houses, go to Administration, user and security management...

  I get a few empty alerts a unknown rule in my console and it's really hard to check each any every rule as much of his time. Could someone help me if there is no work around where we can write a query in the database and look for the rulename, or something like that.

• Cannot create any component OBIEE

  I have a problem with my installation of 11g OBIEE (Red Hat machine, Enterprise mode Setup), as I am not able to create any report, dashboard, analysis, etc. I'm doing that with the weblogic user, who is supposed to be the default admin user - it is included inside the directors and BIAdministrators. The RPD last I downloaded was the sample sales Lites, out-of-the-box one.

  Actually I don't see the button 'New', then 'Analysis', 'Dashboard', 'Report', etc., but when you click on them, they do nothing.

  Any idea on the problem? It is quite annoying because I can't create any component with the tool.

• Problem faced in OBIEE 11 g

  Hi all
  I have an exclusive requirement of the customer. I try to explain it in simple terms. Suppose that I have a dashboard with a prompt of dashboard ( multiple selection box ). The prompt values are guess "bag", "umbrella", "pen", "pencil" and "shoe". Now, a user ( LDAP user ) named Robert connects for the first time and selects 'bag' & 'pencil' in the prompt checkbox in the dashboard page, and opinions the filtered report.
  
  Now need that whenever Robert second connection has from time, in the dashboard page he will see the filtered report that he put in a first time (i.e. he sees the report where 'bag' & 'pencil' is already checked in the fast section of Scorecard ). Is this possible with OBIEE 11 g? Anyone tried something like this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Yes, you can configure the guests of dashboard according to your need and save them as customizations. Thus, whenever a user wants to run the reports with this filter criterion, we simply operate this customization.
