Date system invalid in Armada E500 - bad RTC battery?

After you unplug the AC adapter and remove the main battery to an Armada E500 laptop to replace a damaged LCD screen, I rebooted the computer and received a message from Windows XP, saying the date system and the time were not valid. I tried to set the date and time, turn off the computer, remove the adapter and the main battery for a few minutes, and then start the computer again and once more the date system and the time were not valid. Is this normal? If this isn't the case, it means more or less unequivocally that the RTC battery is bad? Or y at - it a good way to test if the problem is a faulty battery of the CCF, short all just buy a new one and see if it solves the problem?

Yes... the battery is bad... and you can test it and see if the viltage is in spec... but replace it with the sounds of it...

because the battery is usually only good for appox 5 years... they can go any longer... and this laptop is on the mark of 5 years

as you know

    Hi Liam

Hmmm... I think it s not a Council but the battery of the CCF.
Take a look in the user manual. There you should find something that exactly the message is displayed if the battery RTC (BIOS) is not charged.

The RTC battery, you must connect the power adapter and should run the laptop for about 24 hours.
After that the main battery has been charged, then the RTC battery starts to load.

It will take a little longer.

  • Battery SP 6100 Bad RTC / check sum

For a few months now my 6100 SP disables sometimes automatically with a click hard...
I don't see any relation to the ongoing process. It happened a few times when I brought the machine from one place to the other, but even when he was still on the table.

After the system restarts (had to remove and reconnect the Li battery and AC adapter first) the following message appears:
    * bad RTC battery *.
    * bad checksum (cmos) *.

I already know that there could be a problem of RTC battery
Now, I have the following questions

    (1) is closing thing caused by the RTC battery or this message, the result of the bad is stopped?

    (2) if it is the RTC battery can it be changed easily (by myself)?

    (3) if it is not the battery what can be the problem?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

If a BIOS checksum error message persists, this may indicate that the RTC (CMOS) battery must be replaced. The CMOS battery can be replaced by the authorized service partner.

I put t know how old is your device, but it will be bad idea to change it alone because of the sensitivity of the construction of the laptop. In any case, I searched if somewhere you can order one. If you want to check it

  • Issue of Pro 6100 satellite about the RTC battery

    I know it's a huge topic which will be discussed on, and my Toshiba is screwed. I even did a lot of research and found it disappointing that my Toshiba may not be repairable, but I have a question;

When I boot my Toshiba, it looks good, and I can run normal programs (I get the error of bad RTC battery), but for some reason, the Toshiba randomly freezes and I have to stop it after 5 to 20 minutes to use me.

I tried to leave it on, as some other forum topics proposed to charge the bettery RTC and it went okay, then 20 minutes later, it froze and I had to reboot.

Sometimes it is not still turn just after that I have forcefully arrested, so I have to wait from hours to days so he can go back on. But it's useless cause it hangs again.

Any input on it's great and I'll take advice for this problem. I want the RTC battery but it keeps freezing on me, if I want to find a way to prevent this. Thank you!

PS: ASP Toshiba Theres two locations in my city (Markham, Ontario, Canada), so if all else fails, I'll take the laptop with my father at one of these places.

    Hello

If you want to reload the RTC battery you don t need boot up the laptop.
You can simply connect the AC adapter to the laptop and allow it to charge for a piece of 8 to 12 hours.

The freezing issue for me sounds like an overheating problem. This can happen because of the dust and debris inside the laptop. In such cases, cooling modules may not work correctly.
In case you I recommend first charging the RTC battery (don t need to turn on the device), then to clean the fans (you can use carefully vacuuming).
If the laptop freezes then you could try to reinstall the operating system.

If all of these tips n help so you should ask the ASP for the verification of the laptop.

  • RTC battery swap

Hi, have a bad rtc battery! tried to reload, however, does not always cmos! can I change myself and it's the same type of battery in a computer at home

    Thank you

    Hi Martin,

Unfortunately, you don't say what model of laptop you have. However, the RTC battery will only apply to you laptop and will be mounted on your motherboard for a dismantling of the laptop will be necessary in order to access it.

If you Google for a suitable battery you will find several batteries of RTC advertising providers, so if you decide to replace yourself make sure that you get a suitable to your laptop model.

I assume that your cell phone is now out of its warranty because you will invalidate your coverage if your there yourself.

    Good luck

I have a HP Pavilion DV3560EV and the last two days cannot keep time and date.

This part number is only for my laptop model or others too?

Because I found that the same reference number for HP Mini 2133.

    Is this the same battery?

    Hello

The type of battery you need is almost certainly the one shown on the page linked below-these are available from any good store retailer or electric computer.  Just to check, compare the number with the RTC battery already in your laptop.

The RTC battery replacement procedure is detailed starting Page 77 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 often randomly turns off and bad RTC error

Hi, I recently bought a sp6100 and it worked fine at first but now it goes out often random and comes with BAD RTC ERROR at startup. As a musician who uses the pc, it is very painful and I lost much of my work. Anyhelp would be great. Conrad

    HI Conrad,.

Power loss random is usually a symptom of overheating and can usually be cured by cleaning all dust and lint that built into the CPU radiator. A vacuum cleaner is a useful ally in so doing. Just put the hose against the grids of aspiration air for a few seconds.

The RTC error refers to the adjustment of the real time clock which is normally held by a small battery, usually mounted on the motherboard of your laptop. It is used to maintain the settings of the BIOS (including date/time) and is completely separate from your main laptop battery. Modification of the RTC (or CMOS) battery will involve some disassembly, so is best left to an authorized Service partner.

  • Date system frequently replaces 3014 and accordingly, that nothing works until I change the date.

I turned off my computer after each use.  Quite frequently, the date system at boot is 3014, not in 2014 and therefore, nothing works until I have change the date.  How can I fix all the time?

Original title: Date System.  Windows 7 Home Premium

It's a Dell.  I've never opened a computer, but I just opened my old one. The only thing that looks like a battery is round, about 3/4 in. in diameter, said Panasonic 3V +.  Then a stupid question: is the battery you think?

    Thanks Ken.

Yes, it's the battery. This is very probably a CR 2032 and can be purchased almost anywhere, even at the grocery store in the United States.

It keeps the clock of computers running, among other things, while the computer is turned off.

    Hello

    ·         When exactly do you get this error message?

    ·         What program do you use?

You can get this error in Visual Studio after installing correctly data dude GDR 1 or 2 GDR, when you try to work with the guy (create the new data type, for example).

Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version = 3.5.1.0, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = 89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the specified file.

Guy data GDR 1 and 2 require installation of Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 SP1 .

This requirement is NOT documented in the download page of RDA,
And when you install the GDR without it, the installation is successful, but the guy raises this error when you try to use it.
