  I have a situation where I have two lines on the DBA_FEATURE_USAGE_STATISTICS table for the advanced security feature.  Is it normal or always use normally should be followed on a single line?

  Your request seems incomplete.

  There is a "VERSION" column in dba_feature_usage_statistics.

  When I ask this point of view, I'm on 11.20.3 after upgrading 11.2.0.1

  I see both 11.2.0.1 and 11.2.0.3 for several components.

  So I think that your request should be changed.

  Please note that you must also ALWAYS include your four-digit version number.

  Yes. It does display in EM. Given that some of these views are also used for other things internally, it does not remove them. You get NO points of view.

  It seems you found somone activated of sets and the setting of advisers.  as others have said, theyre part of the D & T and theyre always there but only, you become eligible for a permit after that you use.   This will tell you the first time they have been used if at all, the key here for you field be FIRST_USAGE_DATE that must be completed only if detected_usages > 0

  You are not, but Oracle is, since you are using RAC.  Oracle relies on execution in parallel against the gv$ views so even if you can't use it in SE way common Oracle can when it comes to query against one of the points of view gv$.  That's why DBA_FEATURE_USAGE_STATISTICS reports that you see.

  I think that simply verify that the customers license agreement is usually a steer better. It's the Enterprise edition, they will be installed by default, if you do not use them. Oracle has a series of similar scripts to GDR that determine which has been used or not used in case they are a site audit. It is quite easy with older versions for some to inadvertently use AWR etc.

  If it's a customer site I guess someone will have a beef about what is and what is not used (what previous DBA or developers had access to the). The client would know that their license is or be able to know of their Oracle customer support rep? I think in 10G, these reports were not unreliable (ready to use) so it would be quite convenient to query and see if snapshots are populated.

• Why my database showing a used advanced compression?

  Did some checking with the Oracle supplied scripts option_usage.sql & used_options_details.sql shows a couple of our databases using the advanced compression option.

  At first I thought maybe it was an option that someone forgot to uncheck during installation, but I see that this is not a configurable option during installation.

  I asked a salesman if it has been used or needed in the database and the answer was no - none of their table creation scripts had specified compression and the database was not intended to use databases.

  However, when I run the supplied oracle advanced compression scripts above, it shows that the database uses.  When I query the table of dba_feature_usage_statistics there is no list of advanced compression, but the bunch compression (which I assume is the advanced compression) appears as being used a few dozen times, but not in a year or more, here's what show the columns detected_usages, first_usage_date, last_usage_date and currently_used :

  Since none of the tables to use, I guess that these uses must have been given pump or something like that.

  Correct - See the bug mentioned above - it's show seeded EM tables such as those using compression, not one of your custom application tables.

  You break even your EE Oracle license, if you do not have a valid diagnostic + Tuning package for it. You can reproduce this very easily, as described by Kerry Osborne here: requirements for licenses for SQL profiles

  Do not trust with value = TRUE in the parameter $ v as meaning that you can use a feature - you might not be allowed - but if it's WRONG you certainly cannot.

  You can query dba_registry so large components are installed in the database and you can query dba_feature_usage_statistics to see if specific features have been used.

  Modern Oracle comes with a lot of extra features enabled in the default database (AWR for example). What was purchased, what was installed and are often different from what has been used and the only way to really know what was purchased shall review a copy of your CSI.

  You can query dba_registry so large components are installed in the database and you can query dba_feature_usage_statistics to see if specific features have been used.
