  If you want to turn off the Fn key and if your model of Lenovo ThinkPad is E420, E430 follow the steps below to turn off the Fn key:
   
  1. press Windows + X key together on the key board button.
  2. Select Control Panel
  3. right click on keyboard and open the properties of the keyboard
  4. click on the tab "Thinkpad F1 - F12 Keys"
  5. now select legacy option

  6. click on apply and Ok.

  Sticky keys are enabled on the computer and that is why you are getting the beep when you try to type something using the keyboard. You must disable sticky keys.

  To activate deactivate StickyKeys, follow these steps:

  1. click on start and then click Control Panel. 2. click on 'Ease of access' and then click 'accessibility '. 3. under "Explore all settings" click on "Make the keyboard easier to use". 4. under "make it easier to type", uncheck "Turn on Sticky Keys" and click Save.
