Have you enabled "back flash bios" in the bios?

    Hello

It seems that the CPU of my L450 is blocked to 0.77 GHz speed when it is running on battery power and no matter how heavy the load, the CPU speed does not fit on the rise, unless I plug in the AC power cord.

This makes the laptop a bit useless on the battery when you do something time CPU.

This seems to be the unusual question, based on the quick searchand possibly related to the BIOS. I would try to downgrade from 1.16-> 1.15 or 1.12, but I always get the error "Failed to secure authentication of Flash", after you run the flash program and rebooted (when flashing the BIOS should start).

I turned off in the BIOS the option 'Prevention of RollBack Secure' settings, so I guess that's not the question for not having to downshift.

Does anyone else have this problem (with the speed of the CPU limitation or decommissioning of the BIOS)?

I tried to change options in plan powers the window, like 'The Maximum processor state', 'Intel CCMP energy efficiency Settings. "

I am running Windows 10, if any relevant information.

    OK, think about it.

The fix was to disconnect the battery and the power cord for one minute. After that, the CPU is scaling its speed again normally.

Good thing that this laptop model has a removable battery, I guess...

I'd like to, I would have thought this before going through the demotion to 8.1 Windows, since the I suspected it could be a bug with Windows 10 or some of its pilots.

I think that this problem was caused by my recent update BIOS of 1.12 to 1.16, but it's really just a guess.

  • Can I downgrade the BIOS on my X201i?

Does anyone know if it's possible/desirable to "update" sound BIOS to an older version? In other words, are there additional problems involved with decommissioning of the BIOS as the most common risks with the BIOS updates?

What I plan to do is downgraded to the version released late June 2013, because there supposedly solves the problem of battery drain. No Lenovo apparently cares to answer one of my questions of how it is possible that I have a newer version of the BIOS that is currently posted as the newest one (I have installed since Oct-2012 of 1.40 - 1, 20; the most recent version, the new post-Jun-2013 is 1.40 - 1.15), or what to do about it. So I plan to go ahead and reinstall (by crushing) my current BIOS with one posted on the web site: 1.40 to 1.15. (I have very serious problems with heat like terrible battery upgrade to Pro Win8 dump station).

I'm no expert BIOS, so I'm not aware of the risks or potential problems of decommissioning of its BIOS. Perhaps there is nothing for her and amounts to the same thing as any BIOS update/install. In the affirmative, please let me know. I'm in complete lack of reliable expertise.

    Thank you!

I guess I'm for a clean install then.

Funny TVSU suggested I have install the BIOS recently posted yesterday (finally!). I did, without any problem, and it has certainly supported the heating problem. I always battery only about two hours of time, however, down from almost 5 hours before the passage of Win7Pro to Win8Pro...

Good day and welcome to the community.

If you do not see listed here earlier versions: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/100-series/100-15iby?beta=false or in the BIOS download page: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/100-series/100-15iby/downloads/DS10280... so it is not accessible to the public.

    Hope this helps to clarify.

  • 14-b017cl Sleekbook: update the BIOS after decommissioning of win7

    Hello

I need to do an upgrade of the BIOS on my 14-b017cl Sleekbook.

The laptop is demoted to win7, win8 was installed originally.

Is it safe to run the update in win7?

The available updates are officially for win8 only (see: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-116297-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en... )

    Thanks for the help!

I've not tested it personally, but if it is not compatible, it will tell you at the outset. So, I don't see any harm in trying the update.

  • Decommissioning of the E530 bios?

    Hi guys,.

just updated the bios on my E530 and now my fan running constantly, which is noisy and took about an hour of my battery life - sucks completely.

So is it possible to downgrade my bios for an older version? Looked around and could not find any info.

    Thanks for your help...

Allright, I thought about it, so I'll post my solution, if someone needs to do the same thing.

First go into bios-> Security-> disable rollback course prevention. Save and restart.

Then simply download the bios version you want (like 2.52 http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/h0uj12ww.exe) and flash away.

Maybe activate prevention restoration course once again, don't really know if it's necessary.

It worked for me, 2.54 at 2.52, but use at your own risk

  • HP ENVY m6-n113dx Notebook PC: update the BIOS F.22A and keyboard

    Hello

I was hoping that over time someone would have posted something with a similar problem, I have, but its been a while so I guess I would ask and I hope an answer and I hope I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

Awhile back, I upgraded my laptop BIOS (HP ENVY Notebook PC m6-n113dx) from F.21A to F.22A, who apperently offers improved performance of the internal keyboard. After the update, nothing seemed very different. However when I play a game and press a key on the keyboard, the charater would sometimes get stuck on this action of the key as if she was held down. Usually, I just press the button again to stop this action, although this has become an embarrassment.

I've been reading the forums and found a lot of options for apperently decommissioning of your BIOS to earlier versions, but I would like to know where I can find a how to or may downgrade my BIOS of F.22A to F.21A, especially for my laptop.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello @BCC119922,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I understand that you have a problem with the keyboard and wanted to help you!

This is possible, and you can find the drivers for your product here:

Drivers - HP ENVY m6-n113dx Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

Select your operating system and then find the BIOS category.  In this drop-down list, you will see the BIOS update for F.22.  You should be able to choose the previous versionsto the right Details.  This will allow you to access and download version F.21 A.

Please let me know if this information helps you solve the problem by marking this message as 'accept as Solution' , this will help others easily find the information they seek.  In addition, by clicking on the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thank you!

  • XPS8700 and the BIOS or UEFI

    I have an old XPS8700 of 9 months with BIOS A08 = Win8.1 running.

Everything seemed fine until I tried to access BIOS/UEFI.

Boot, I see the Dell logo, but it is not an invitation to press F2 for the BIOS.  If I press F2 (or F12) nothing happens and the boot process continues at the login screen.

Windows, PC settings, retrieval/update, UEFI/BIOS, the computer boots in the first page of the BIOS American Megatrends screen (and looks exactly as I expected) but the computer does not respond to keyboard or mouse.  The clock ticks upward, as expected, but there is no response to all keys (and I've tried them all) or with the mouse.  Decommissioning is the only option.

This could affect all project or rather future upgrade... or to solve any problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions?  I'm reasonably IT read and write, but beat me to it!

It is difficult because of Fast Boot to enter the BIOS with Win 8. Way the easiest is to go for the power settings in the charms bar and click on reboot while holding down the SHIFT key. This bypasses quick start so that there is more time for press F2 during the boot.

  • Update the BIOS

    Hello

can someone tell me the Bios updates for my machine?

I need one that is more aggressive on material resources. The appropriate drivers for the GPU would be nice as well. Reading from data bases of Geekbench, this machine is never more than a pretty paperweight to research.

    Thanks for reading

    Details in the following way:

    Motherboard: Apple Inc. Mac-B809C3757DA9BB8D iMac17, 1

    BIOS: Apple Inc. IM171.88Z.0105.B08.1604111319

    Memory: 32768 Mo 1867 MHz DDR3

    Processor: Intel Core i7 - 6700K @ 4.00 GHz

    GPU: AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4096 MB

    macpraxis,

You confuse a Mac to a Windows window. Mac do not have a bios but they have firmware, if there is any necessary updates to your machine, they are available in the software updates which is located in the Mac App Store. If nothing comes, while your system is up to date and should be left alone.

If you encounter any problem, perhaps to let us know what it is would open the way for getting help.

  • How Flash the BIOS if you cannot start Windows

    Hello

I have a BIOS virus which prevents ANY version of any operating system Windows to boot at all.

(Linux will start and run fine)

So, to solve this problem, I need re-flashing the BIOS.

Problem is... HP offers only the BIOS as an executable Windows utility.

Can someone help me figure out a way to Flash the BIOS WITHOUT Windows?

    THX

Now, in response to this topic, I discovered a solution...

    HPBIOSFILE.exe - writeromfile /-writehexfile /-writehdrfile

I hope this helps some of you.

    To use this...

    (1) download the executable file (.exe) for BIOS update for your motherboard

    (2) a copy of the program flashing of Award Bios BACK (Google it, easy to find)

    (3) obtain a downloadable copy of the BACK 6.22 (of Microsoft) and create files to start this one.  (possibly another computer to do this).

    (4) start your computer affected in BACK 6.22

    (a) copy the files in a directory

"(b) using the bold line above... type the name of your BIOS instead of the HPBIOSFILE.exe file ' and run the command.

You will find yourself with a ROM file, a BIN file and a header file.

You can now re-Flash your BIOS on your HP computer outside of a Windows environment.

    ENJOY!

  • Jet 7 Tablet 5709: HP Jet 7 touch screen does not work in Windows even if it works in the BIOS menu advanced starup

Less than two months ago, I upgraded my HP Jet Windows 7 to 10. Over time some questions popped up (random apps that could not be opened, etc.) so I decided to do a full reset, deleting the files from the user. Once the 'install' process is complete he brought me to the initial configuration for Windows 10 screen, asking me my keyboard and language preference. He would not accept any contact entry. I rebooted it and he went to the advanced configuration where I could use the touch screen to do a complete reset. That has not changed anything. I found the info on the HP website and did a reset of the BIOS. That has not changed anything. I got an OTG cable, but was not able to get a keyboard work. I did, however, get a mouse works and has managed to create a new user and login. However, the touchscreen does not work in Windows. I was able to get into the settings and looked at the Device Manager settings. There was only a mouse driver listed under Human Interface. I also noticed a number of question marks in the subtopic of the processor drivers.

I was able to use the OTG cable to try to re - install Windows 10 from a USB key. When a similar initial settings (language, keyboard) screen broke, I couldn't use the touchscreen. Later, I created a USB with Windows 8.1 thinking he might have a better chance. The same problem. He does not touch inputs. And with a key USB installed via the OTG cable, I can't launch a mouse at the same time.

It is strange that I have not the problem in the BIOS or advanced startup options. It seems that there is a corruption somewhere, but how do I fix?

    Hello Moronihah,

You did a clean install (delete all files and programs) the 2nd time you reinstalled Windows 10?

That's what you need to do first.

Then, you have to go to the HP website and install the drivers on your USB.

Above all, you need to include the Goodix Touch Controller Driver and pilot, allowing Malta G-Sensor.

    HP Software and Driver Downloads

You're using a hub 4 ports with your OTG cable? Which will allow you to use the mouse, the keyboard and the entire USB drive.

I have a Hp Pavilion a1620n with a motherboard ASUS P5LP - THE using Phoenix Technologies Bios VER.3.16 and running Windows 7. I want to upgrade the processor and said that I have to upgrade the Bios before upgrading the processor. I have been researching but can't find any info on how to do it for this particular machine. There is no on-board Bios Flash program and I can't seem to find any information. Any ideas?

    AZ_scuba_dude, welcome to the forum.

There is no update software/BIOS for Win7 for the computer.  It is unlikely that there will be a developed.  However, there is a BIOS update for XP.  You will need to do a system restore to the original configuration that includes XP.  Once this operation is complete, you can update the BIOS to version: 3.19.  You can do the update using the executable file (sp35100.exe). Although she did not mention anything about what makes the upgrade of the processor.  Here are the Specifications of the motherboard of the computer.  In the processor upgrade information section, it lists the updates that supports HP.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.
