Defective media control buttons

The button Mute, CD / DVD button, Play/Pause button, stop button, back button and next button ceased to control the windows media player and continue to be light after stopping down my PC. Turning off lighting to help the HWSetup/Toshiba Toshiba do not turn off the button illumination.

How can I fix it?

I don't know if this will help, but try to reinstall only the value-added package.

I read a few posts about this, saying that I need to download the driver control...
Well, I spent hours last night looking for him. :\
Anyone got the direct link to it?

    Hallo Kitsune

Try reinstalling the value-added package. You can download it from the Toshiba support page. If you have laptop model please visit http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

    Hallo Glead

S manuals are described that this button is not for 2 functions, but only for one. For the MUTE to turn the lights. I have too many Satellite A300 and this button is how to turn off the LEDs only.
Take a look at this symbol, and you will see that it is not pregnant but symbol of light.

Compare with symbol on the ESC key and you will see that this is not the same.

  • Satellite U400-217 - does not of media control buttons

    Hey all,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite U400-217, which is one year old.

For some reason any lately the light on the media controls button doesn't seem to work - where he usually lit up the touchpad line and writing of Satellite. Other media control buttons seem to work well. If I hit the light button, it turns on for a second to tell me his touchdown then disappears and nothing happens.
    What could be the problem?

I have searched several sites looking for a response, but can't seem to find it, I even looked for the driver, but could not find this not even on the Toshiba site - I have no idea of what is still called the driver. I also tried turning the phone off, remove the battery, put the battery back in and connect to the charger. With no luck. Help would be very appreciated: I hope someone can give me information to operate! Thank you in advance,

In any case, I I'm happy to hear that you could solve your problem, but to be honest, the forum already contains 100 threads on this problem and the solution is always reinstall package of added value.

  • Media control buttons are Unresponsive on my Satellite A305D

    Hello everyone.

Recently, I got my laptop A305D-S6848 Satellite of windows Vista to XP SP3. Everything works correctly and all pieces of hardware report that the proper drivers are installed in the Device Manager in Windows (no "yellow bang" or something like that). However, I noticed that none of my buttons to control media along the top of my keyboard do nothing more (with the exception of the button mute still works). I searched through the forums to find a solution to the problem (and I found a few relevant threads with answered questions) but unfortunately, none of the solutions have worked for me. Is there something that miss me in order to get functions of these buttons (drivers, software, etc..)?

Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I don't know how it works in the United States, but these buttons works well if Toshiba controls is preinstalled. This tool is responsible for the functionality and settings of these multimedia keys.

A few minutes ago I ve checked United States support page and I didn't found something here that can help. Of course, Toshiba U.S. doesn t offer together BFOR drivers, tools and utilities Windows XP Home edition this model of laptop.
Just listed upgrade is interesting - Toshiba Software updates for Windows Vista/XP (v4.3 r2; 2007-11-09; 4 M). I don't really know what it is.

  • Satellite A110 - after Vista upgrade media control button does not

    Hello, could someone help me?

I upgraded my laptop Satellite A110 to Vista. Media button control does not work after upgrade to vista.

    Help, please...

    Hi guys

You consider right. You must install the Vista Toshiba value added package.

    I found this TSB Toshiba

TOSHIBA value added V1.0.25 for VISTA contains 3 different version. What is right for my cell phone? http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7801XK0005R01.htm

You must check your key for laptop specifications and then use the right file and drivers.

Maybe this could be some help how to determine the amount of buttons on the right:

  • Qosmio G40: Vista Ultimate - control buttons do not work properly

    Hello friends,

I have a Qosmio G40 for a few months and everything works well until now.
The problem is related to the front control panel.

If I use Windows Media Player, PLAY/STOP/PAUSE/FORWARD/BACKWARD buttons work well, but if I try to use the other buttons like REC (in any case) or turning on LEDS or DOLBY, the button makes the usual sound, but nothing happens, does not open any program that is supposed to open.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening. I tried to look for any software configuration of these buttons but can't seem to find.

My system is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

    Hello

The European driver Toshiba page provides the AV controller Manager
This tool allows you to customize and TOSHIBA AV Control button preset settings.

Maybe you should install this tool and it should check again.

In addition, it would be advisable to reinstall the VAP

    Check it out!

  • Qosmio G35 - 600 - card reader and control buttons do not work

    Hello

So I recently installed windows XP on my Toshiba Qosmio G35-600 and I found all the drivers except two. If someone out there could help me find this would be great.

    (1) the first driver, I can't find is for the control of Toshiba above my keyboard buttons (I think that's what they are called). Quosmios have 12 buttons on the top above the F keys and currently only my power button, the brightness keys, up and down and the keys sound dolby work. The key analog TV, the Media Center button, play, stop, previous, next, check-in and s-video, the buttons do nothing more. It would be cool if I had again a s-video on the ability, but above all I want is the previous play and next buttons to work.

    (2) the second problem I have is with my built in SD card reader. A few times I thought I found the right driver, but after installing the SD card was not appearing in my computer.

A pre-emptive thank you for the help,

    Xamboni

    Hello

On the U.S. Toshiba download page, you can find drivers Windows XP Home (link given by Luc). I think you're missing Toshiba controls for Windows XP (don't forget the common modules is installed first) and Texas Instruments PCIxx21 FlashMedia driver for the card reader.

Is a device in the Device Manager listed as unknown?

  • Satellite A200 - Toshiba Controll buttons stopped working

    Hello

I used controls Button from Toshiba (play/pause, stop, previous/next buttons) with Winamp and was perfect (but the FN + f2, f5, f6, f7, f8 and f9 were not working, but I didn't mind) on my satellite A200.

But two days ago I updated the BIOS to the latest version and the FN command started working, but the play, stop and b/f buttons don't work no more (tried with Media Player too).

I reinstalled the drivers of control and is the same thing.

You have an idea how I could fix this?

  • Satellite L350-10 b - can I use Toshiba with MediaMonkey control buttons

I can do the media on my Toshiba L350-10 b control buttons work with MediaMonkey?
I don't use WMP... I found the application programmer Gennady Rakhvalov RemoteX, but the Mute button does not work here.

So is it possible to use the buttons with MediaMonkey?

Generally, the Toshiba control buttons are configured for Windows Media Player and you can't configure it with an another player software if these player software does not support the necessary options.

I use WinAmp with my Toshiba control buttons, but this feature has been activated it WinAmp itself.

AFAIK utility Toshiba controls must be preinstalled if you have correct functionality. Check this box on your device.

  • Cannot run youtube videos in Firefox. Cannot use the play, pause, volume, or one of the control buttons.

None of the control buttons work, it's as if the video window pretty darn part of the scope.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    Thank you.
