Defender, configfree has stopped working.

Hello

I'm an ole f t, new to computers.i know that I have to take some classes, but... in the meantime, I have a toshiba satellite L355 with vista home premium. I have ccleaner, spybot, and mse. I tried to turn on defender, that came with it, but no luck. also, in the last 3 weeks or so, after that I connect to on(in?), I get a box telling me that my configfree has stopped working? any help to a brainiac on these 2 issues would be appreciated.

thanx,--frankieneale

Since you installed Microsoft Security Essentials this is the reason why the Defender will not work. MSE has its own anti-spyware component and will disable the Defender by design. Microsoft® Security MVP, 2004-2010

It is not easy to help you because you use external third party material. I put t think ConfigFree is tested as intensely with all sorts of external devices.
Why this may be just speculation. Still is it that ConfigFree is not necessary to run then I recommend to leave ConfigFree before starting to use your modem. How to fix? Good question. What you can do about it? Not much. Perhaps to find new version ConfigFree and reinstall in the hope, it will be OK. In my view, no more than that.

I use ConfigFree constantly with LAN and WLAN networks, and there is no problem at all.

I m not very well why the Utility of Toshiba ConfigFree has stopped working, but I can tell you how you can solve this problem.
I think simple installation ConfigFree could solve this annoying problem.

    How the product?
First download easy all the utility driver page ConfigFree Toshiba UE
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
Please pay attention to the version. There is a ConfigFree utility for 32-bit system and 64-bit.

After the ConfigFree utility has been downloaded, uninstall the previous software installed.
In Control Panel-> programs & features, you should find the ConfigFree
After the tool has been uninstalled, restart the laptop
Then unizip the package downloaded and start the installation.
    Reboot once more.

  • Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working. Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.

Original title: Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working.

I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed, after the time of my last updated 31/7, my windows update has stopped working, and no so Windows defender and firewall.  Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.  Update Windows to 7.31 was an update of the Defender, however, windows update will not give me the option to uninstall this update because the Defender has completely disappeared from the prompt that allows you to choose which puts up-to-date to uninstall. Is it possible to manually remove somewhere else?

I ran SFC/scannow and I WAB32res.dll has been altered, so I copied the file on my windows 7 CD for 64 Professional (from program files/common files) and copied and replace my program.files/common files one.  I restarted the SFC and the same error occurred.  I had 5 errors like this:

2012-08-03 19:15:59, 000002fb CSI Info [SR] cannot repair the military record [l:24 {12}] "wab32res.dll" Microsoft-Windows-WAB-Core, Version 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 = (9), the Culture neutral, VersionScope is 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, type neutral, TypeName neutral, neutral to the public key in the store, hash mismatch. "

I also ran Microsoft Safety Scanner Scanner, he finds 16 errors and fixed them (I saved the names), but even after I reset the computer my Windows Update/Defender/firewall STILL does not work!

Anyone have any ideas? Especially how to fix 'wab32res.dll"maybe that I recorded it in the wrong place?

I noticed there is one in each 'program folder' folder (program files x 86 and regular for 64 bit).  Is also wab32res.dll somewhere in system32?

I have Vista I know makes a difference in what I do.

It looks like something very funky happening with your Internet Explorer program.  It looks much like malware to me, but if you ran several scans with different products, then that may not be the case.  You can try several above - but you probably won't find anything (but you might--sometimes a virus is very sneaky and that one or two anti-malware programs are able to deal with them).

Since it seems to be a problem with Internet Explorer, I suggest that repost you your question (with a link to this topic so that they will know what's already been tried) to the Forum of Internet Explorer http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads where people who specialize in issues of IE will be happy to help you with your problem.

  • manages scheduled tasks has stopped working and was closed

Lately I get this error message often when I start using my Vista PC (Vista Business SP2) in the morning: "manages scheduled tasks has stopped working and was closed".

And this morning the automatic update of Windows Defender definitions also could not install (so I would be dnld and installed).  Set to automatic update referred to 'unknown error' (8 and 57, I think).

FYI, sfc/scannow reported no integrity violoations with system files.  I also reconfigured my PC there is to make sure that it is clean, fresh and perfectly up-to-date before reinstalling all my apps, and it's been updated for about 2 months then.

How this application problem "manages scheduled tasks" can be fixed?  If you don't know, where can I get an answer?  Neither Google nor Bing seem to show any reference to the exact phrase "" manages scheduled tasks has stopped working stopped working '. "

Update 7/22: I'm starting to suspect a problem of interactions between turn off Vista and [printer] HP Digital Imaging Monitor.  I tried to disable it via msconfig, a couple of days and have not seen the mistakes regularly ever since, but the jury is still pending for another week or two.   I'll report after awhile.

It is too early to point a finger because we know that all of them have well worked normally in the past and they seem equally at risk of corruption.  For example, I have no these errors when you use the same software HP on my Win7 PC and I don't have these errors for a few months after that the reconstruction of my Vista laptop, so I'm suspecting some piece of software has become corrupted (something in Vista), or something the tracking software program, some windows or component or registry setting software execution to one who relies on the HP printer.

    ERROR WINRSCMDE

I got this error message "winrscmde has stopped working and was closed".

Program WINDOWS SECURITY ESSENTIALS download, which found the horse of TROJAN ALUERON in my system. Also, he explains that he keeps duplicating itself and the only way to get rid of it is to download WINDOWS DEFENDER on a CD/DVD or the key to a processor that has the same operating system as the infected CPU offline. I want to know if this Trojan horse attaches to the BIOS? Please tell me the other options...

    Thank you

  • Microsoft Explorer has stopped working

I have Vista premium 64 bit which worked well for 8 months.  Now, I'm getting Microsoft Explorer has stopped working suite by Microsoft Explorer restarts.  In this case problably 10 to 15 times a day when I try to perform a task that requires exploring.   In addition, IE explore has the same problem (I was using IE7 32 bit until he leaves then I installed IE8 - worked for 3 days of work, then he started too fault, I tried the 32-bit versions and 64-bit - same problem).  Firefox works fine!  I tried to do a restore, but crashes with a blue screen of death each time.  I have a Dell 430 quad-processor with 8 GB of ram.  Any suggestions that I have not already tried another that reformat and reinstall the OS?

    Hello

IE and Explorer are closely related, so things that affect one affect both.

Try these and it can also be a good idea to update your main drivers later. The General corruption can also play a
role in this issue. And even the TCP/IP stack might need to be refreshed.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

If no joy there's something blocking perhaps.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

    not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).

    Maybe need of these:

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.
