  I know exactly what you mean, it took some time before MAJ strives to limit the width/height ratio (remember pleading for this). MAJ collaborates with rotation to limit at certain angles, but not when dragging an object on the stage.

  This is the reason why I almost always use the keyboard if I want to move an object. It is very long I blogged about moving and resizing objects with shortcut keys:

  If you are on version 9.0.1, network utility (if it's still useful) can easily be replaced by the new rulers and guides. As the CTRL key in combination with arrows moves an object selected on a distance equal to the size of the grid (default = 16px), you can change this size and choose another distance. SHIFT key in combination with arrows always moves more than 10 px.

  An alternative workaround in CP9.0.1 could use the new guides with their characteristic alignment.
