Delegation of network file

Hello

I would like to know that, whenever we are accessing a computer in a network by using a command ' \\computer name\c$-filename ".
And when we delete a particular file system, then where he I'll moved, if in recycle bin then what is the exact location of the file deleted in the system.

When a file is deleted on a network share, it is immediately removed from the drive (this is the equivalent to a Shift-Delete on a local file).  It is not "moved" in a dumpster as is the case with local drives.  If such a file is deleted, and you need to recover, then you are at the mercy of an 'undelete' program and a lot of luck.

JW

I can make pictures to my library of photos and pictures of charge very well. I've set the library to serve the library system:

But, by selecting the option of using iCloud library gives me this error message "iCloud library is not available if the system library is located on a network file server.":

I have the ability to connect this external hard drive to an iMac which is used as a server, I just prefer not, but if it's the only option I want.

So in short, can I use this configuration? If so, why the error message and how to cope.

    Thanks in advance to all.

That's right - the library needs (for iCLoud, use of the library and for the safe operation) to be on a local wired connection - may not be on a network connection

  • network file host etc.

I would like to know how to configure a host on a network file

Sharing the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host file is for me a permission problem. I edited the permissions does not.

create a shortcut of the file sharing host and it bypasses security but when editing it on a network is a no NO major the only thing you are editing is your own host file without even knowing.

The scenario why I want to manually edit on a network

I edited a number of host files that facebook is no longer available on the network, but must be available for a single person (on request)

by sharing the host file from a pc on the network gives me access to add or remove 127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com for the host file.

What should I do to configure my windows firewall to allow network discovery and file sharing of printers and media streaming and sharing?

    Hi stephanie,.

Thanks for joining us out on Microsoft Community Forums.

Looks like the Windows firewall prevents the discovery network, files and printers, sharing, public sharing of files and streaming media. We will analyze and identify the cause of the problem.

You have a third-party antivirus installed on the computer program?

    Method 1:

    To turn on network discovery

    1. Open advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click Network and sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click on change settings for sharing advanced.
    2. click on the chevron to expand the current network profile.
    3. click turn on network discovery and then click on save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide
    confirmation.

The article below explains all about the network discovery:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/enable-or-disable-network-discovery

If any of these responses not solve the issue, let us then run the sfc scan and check if any file system is corrupt. I also recommend to perform a clean boot in order to find the root cause of the problem.

    Method 2:

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • Domestic network file share is slow

    Hello

I'm having a problem with a slow flow on my LAN, my main office and another office in a nearby room, which is used as a digital recorder. Both are fine Internet download about 2.0Mbps + effective flow. But the copy of the files between them (which should be a lot faster!), I'm moving 400 to 500 Kbps. Since one is used as a digital video recorder, it is a problem, try to copy large video files, or stream videos in HD quality on my network who stutters. It's frustrating getting the best quality watch Netflix, than from another computer in my own home.

Both have compatible 802.11n wireless NIC; one is a card PCI Rosewill RNX-N300, and the other is a TP-LINK WN951N PCI - E card. I use the Atheros drivers on the machine of TP-LINK; on the other hand, it seems that Atheros does not support the Rosewill cards very well, so it is the driver of stock. Even on the TP-LINK machine; using the factory instead of Atheros driver, doesn't seem to help. My router is configured for WPA2 802.11n 'Mode of Performance '. I also tried Compatibility Mode and everything else I can think.

I realize that the Atheros drivers are not supported here, but I don't think it's relevant, as the factory, or native Windows 7 generic NIC drivers appear to have the same problems. I tried to minimize interference with cards, which usually get 3-4 of 5 bars. WAN speed being much faster, I doubt that's the issue. Wired ethernet is out of the question for me, but pretty much the same speed powerline adapters, seems no better/worse. LAN ping times are 1-2 ms.

Is there something I'm missing here? Both machines are running Windows 7 Pro x 64. I wonder if there is a key "reg" to the packet size or anything else that might help. I would chalk up to the nature of wireless cards, if it wasn't for much better WAN speeds. I believe that it is a problem of operating system settings; all other devices on the network, continue to get faster internet blazing ascent/descent speeds, even though the slow file copies/streaming are underway.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • VMware Fusion keeps resetting my network file

I'm trying to set up a Windows Server VM and allow access to external computers through RDP/DRC. To enable port forwarding, I added the following text to the end of my "/ Library/Preferences/VMWare Fusion/network" file (addresses changed because I'm paranoid that way):

    [incomingtcp]

    # Port forwarding for incoming RDP requests

    3389 = 172.16.252.10:3389

    [incomingudp]

    # Port forwarding for incoming RDP requests

    3389 = 172.16.252.10:3389

The problem is that every time I restart VMWare Fusion, my network file returns to its previous state, and my updated the file is stored in networking.bak.0.

    Am I missing something here?

If it helps: I'm under VMWaare Fusion 7.1.2. Network of my VM is set to NAT (alias "share with my MAC"). My virtual computer is configured with a static IP, the same, I added in the network file. I tested DRC between host and the VM and it works fine, I just need to enable access by other computers on the same network.

Thanks in advance to anyone reading and/or responding to this.

I know it's lame to answer my own question, but I just realized what was wrong. Apparently, I got some wrong information about the Internet, and I should have added the text in the file nat.conf instead of the network file.

  • RMAN to the ASM and network file system

    Hi all

    I use Oracle RAC 11 g R2 + ASM.
I am new to RMAN, but I am trying to build daily tasks to do below:

    1. backup of my database to the FRA located on ASM diskgroup + FRA.
    2. at the same time I want to save my database for Network File System (NFS) to be taken by system administrators to an archive location that I can't access. Since according to my knowledge can't copy files to ASM for outside... so for this I'm planing to use the command format of the NFS mount point.
    3. on daily basis in the NFS file will be taken by a work (that I am not responsible for) to the Archive, and then it will be purged from this location.
    4. I am planing to have my windows of 15 days retention strategy.
    5. on every day, I am planing to cross check my backup and then delete the expired so that taken from NFS in the journal of the archives is deleted.

The RMAN I am planing to run it on a daily basis are:
backup incremental level 0 cumulative device type disk tag 'FULL_DB_INCR_LV0' database; -- this will be to the default location (+FRA)
backup incremental level 0 cumulative device type disk tag 'FULL_DB_INCR_LV0' database format 'NFS/oracle/backup%U';--another copy to be taken to the archive location
    crosscheck backupset;
delete expired backupset; -- this will delete the backups taken to the Archive location
    Now my questions:

1 what good solutions? take account of the fact that I need backup on the file system of the operating system so that the jobs of system administrators take the backup of their archives.
    2. If a backup is needed, I use CATALOGUE START WITH to recover and then recover.
    3. because my retention period is 15 days, and the backup in NFS files will be deleted on a daily basis, so this retention will apply for backups in ASM, is this a problem?

    Hello

Easy way is to use the tag. Find the number of backupset is a difficult task.

Create a template for your tag with a date.

How to use the Substitution Variables of orders RMAN [427229.1 ID]

How to use the tag name of RMAN with different attributes or variables. [580283.1 ID]

You can check which backup doesn't have a copy on NFS using the query below:

  • Simple network file sharing XP Home Edition

I have windows XP Home Edition 2007 Service pak 3. I can't share files on the network. In the network > tools > there is no file simple file sharing check box

"Simple file sharing" is applied (always enabled) for Windows XP Home editions.  Only XP Pro editions can disable Simple file sharing.  This does not mean that you can not share files.  Generally, you share folders simply by doing a right click on a folder and selecting:
Properties-> sharing (tab)-> share this folder.

You must also have the file sharing and printer installed and active on your computer.  More about here:

    Hi Captive,

    Method 1:

I suggest you to check if temporarily uninstall the antivirus software on the computer Windows XP allows you to connect properly.

But don't forget to install the software after troubleshooting is done such that your computer will be at risk.

    Method 2:
You can also check the settings of firewall on the windows XP computer. You can check if the ports are opened correctly for the network to connect. See the help link - below
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/283673

    Method 3:
If the problem persists, you can even perform the clean boot on the Windows XP computer and check if you can identify the application that is causing problems in the clean boot state. To perform the clean boot follow step 1, mentioned in the article, below, and then try again checking in this state of boot -

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

If the issue is resolved check what non-Microsoft service or program is at the origin of the problem. referring to article and following the other steps.
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.

    c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps.

  • Sharing problem between laptop XP Pro and XP Home PC network file

I have a PC with XP Home SP3 which I want to be able to access from my work XP Pro laptop. I used to be able to do this, however, in recent years, I had to replace my disk file or reload due to errors or mechanical failure. Whenever I had to do this, it seems that my ability to access shared folders on the PC has decreased. I used to be able to access all files on the PC, even the C drive. More recently, I could no longer access the shared C drive, but could still access a folder. However, after the disk file was last modified, I can now only have access to the shared printer.

More details - I can see all shared folders on the PC, but I can't open an any of them. I can ping the two systems together, by IP and hostname. My guest account is enabled. I tried to start the PC in safe mode and changing the permissions of the group. I tried disabling my firewall windows on the PC. None of these changes the errors I get. I am an administrator on both systems. NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on both systems. I had a 3rd party firewall (McAfee), installed as a trial, but the trial has failed and I uninstalled it. I have an XP Pro PC to work that I can access via this same laptop from work.

Errors are 1130 system error - not enough server storage is available to process this command, or '\\computername\resource is not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource.

Any ideas? I'm pulling my hair out here...

I wouldn't say that we set the other problem. If I net use x: \\computername\resource, I still get the "not enough server storage message" and it doesn't seem to matter what I increase the IRPStackSize value to.  I ran the command net user as well, also without any change.

    Any other ideas?
