I'm looking to clear the information in the drop-down location. I have data erase history and attempted to suppress the information directly, but I still find the websites listed.

I'm looking to remove some items from the address bar (which shows a history of used files and folders) in windows Explorer (not internet explorer) on Vista. All the forums, I've looked at show how using regedit using the keys ending with "typedURLs' 'typedpaths' 'runMRU' and"WordWheelQuery"- for windows OS OTHER THAN Vista. How this is done under vista with these keys do not exist on my computer?

WordWheelQuery is specific to Windows 7 and is historic for typing in the search
boxes. Vista does not keep a story.

RunMRU is valid since Windows 95. This is the story to start - all the
    Run programs - accessories.

TypedPath is specific to Windows 7 and is where it stores what you type in the
    address bar.

TypedURLs is Internet Explorer 4 for Windows Vista.

  • Accidentally deleted address bar/back-front/bookmarks/tools/help/bar area. Help!

I accidentally deleted my address bar/file/history/tools/etc line, the top of my screen - I did it all by removing the extra toolbars - I don't know where or how to get it back. I did a system restore, but that did not bring him back. I don't know what to do! I had no idea who could be deleted! I have little technical knowledge and did everything I can think of to find it or bring it back.

In Firefox 3.6 and later Windows, you can hide the "menu bar" by "view > toolbars" or through the context menu on a toolbar.

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily.

Go on "view > toolbars" or right-click the 'menu bar', or press Alt + V T to select the toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to switch from the State).

  • Remove IE address bar entries

How can I delete an individual entry in the address bar history?

It's a little red x to the right of the entry that is displayed when you select the entry.  Highlight and click on him and he removes the entry.  I know there are in IE8, but I'm not 100% certain of IE7.

If it does not exist in IE7 and you do not want to upgrade, then go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/11/11/edit-internet-explorer-typed-urls-in-address-bar-dropdown-list/ where you can download a software that will do what you want to do (well as far as easily since you will need to open a separate program).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Firefox does not delete browsing history in the address bar

No matter what you with Firefox in clearing the browser history by going to the history-> delete history, recent and all delete or reset FF by accessing information from troubleshooting, Firefox does not browsing history. The Web site you have traveled still appear in the address bar.

Several people have already complained about this (see thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/939028) and the response from the staff of Firefox is that it is be a malware. That's not true, I've seen versions of Firefox in own computers Windows and Mac with Firefox, do the same thing, or rather not do what it is supposed to do: clean browsing history.

How dangerous is that. Where your privacy? Firefox must find a way to fix this glitch. Something tells me they do it on purpose because it has not been fixed after him complains.

address bar has the little arrow that displays a list of various web sites when I click on it. I don't know where they come from or how to remove, have you tried various. This isn't the menu background. It seems no rhyme or reason to what is on this list, some recent, but older or don't remember even being on the site. Some are sensitive that I don't want not preserved, such as the Web-site of the Bank.

  • I want to delete search suggestions in the drop down menu in the address bar. I don't have swagbucks - is there another solution?

I want to keep my bookmarks/history in the address bar, but delete the search suggestions that appear. These suggestions have barely started to appear last week, and they are boring and useless! Previous solutions have said that this is related to the swagbucks, but I have this installed (and don't know what it is). How can I remove the search suggestions, but keep my history and bookmarks?

Make sure that you use the address bar and not the search bar.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

  • I want to delete search suggestions in the drop down menu in the address bar.

I used to be able to type a letter or two from the site that I wanted to go to and just press enter and Firefox automatically I would have it if it was the first thing on the list. However, now it is more complicated because the search suggestions appear as well as elements in my story. Is there a way to delete these suggests research?

I had the same problem. If you have not installed, the toolbar for swagbucks what you need to do is to click on the arrow to the right of the swagbucks icon and go to the "toolbar options". Under Advanced settings, there will be an option that says 'enable search suggestions in the address bar '. Make sure it is not selected, and your problem should be solved.
