Delete connections when other computers connect to WRT 110

OK, so I saw this earlier question, but there was no resolution, so I'll try again with my problem.

I have a 110 WRT router and my DSL modem is an Actiontec M1000. My main computer is plugged into the router and I have 2 laptops that connect regularly. The two laptops running Vista and laptop 1 series Vista Home Premium 32 and 2 Latop runs Vista Home Premium 64.  When 1 laptop connects wireless everything is fine and the connection is great.  Yet, when 2 laptop connects while 1 laptop is connected, then all connections turn out same cable one in my computer.  Then I have to do a repair of connection for repair.  Also, when this happens I plug my computer directly into the DSL Modem and it connects fine.  Becomes pretty bad and I checked all my settings for the router and the Modem and everything seems ok.

If someone has any information or if you need additional information upon request.  I have no idea why he did this.

Thank you!

OK so I have good news and bad news... ok only good news! It worked and we all can now connect without loss of connection!  Thank you so much! This was very helpful!

Since this morning, the other computers ('other' meaning other than mine, where "mine" is the one that has the connection to the router wireless connected to the internet) in my house does not "see" the family network.  In other words, only my computer has access to the internet.

How to restore the network family when other computers are not 'see '?

Looks like you are saying that your computer is connected to the wireless router, while other computers cannot.

This is the router that "hosts" network, then maybe the wireless feature has been disabled somehow.

Try restarting the router (unplug it for 30 seconds) and see if that helps.

I hope that the problem will be solved.

  • When I try to connect to the wireless router, it asks you the password I put it and he then asked again and will not accept the password. all other computers (without windows 7) connect correctly.

My new computer has windows 7 when I try to connect it to my router it ask the password, then he asks the network password I put in the same password and it does not accept it. I spent ove an hour on the phone with a very helpful and confused expert to the Virgin. He tells me that the password only I need to communicate with the router is the main. We tried a lot of things all very technical and finally he gave up. Other computers with vista on connect very well with no problems at all.

The network is fine and all the settings are fine. Occasionally, it connects via a home network but then it stops. When I try to communicate with the printer wireless signal stops and starts.

I don't hold much hope of a response that experts were left very confused by this first abandoned after 45 minutes and the second lastered over an hour are totally flumaxed and blame windows 7

  • I can not connect computer vista laptop to my network home, but I can connect to other networks. Other computers can connect to my home network very well. This can be corrected?

My laptop runs Vista and I've not had problems connecting to my home network wireless until a week ago or not.  Then, trying to connect, I see other available networks, but not my own.  When I try to connect manually, it says that the network already exists.  Other computers, macbooks, are able to connect to my home network without problem.  I am able to connect to a network on my laptop fine unsecured wireless.

I could 'solve' the problem or get reconnected with a restoration of the system to an earlier date, but it only lasts a day or two.  I searched for another fix and tried many things, including to reset the router, remove my network, and then reinstall, etc, but can't seem to get this to work as if it were - automatic connection as the first network.

    Hello Willard,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

    1. what happens when you try to connect to other computers? you receive an error message or code?
2 update you installed before the show?

  • Win7 computer cannot connect to other computers Win7 network "\\computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource ".

I have a Windows 7 (box A) system that cannot connect to files shared on another computer in Windows 7 (box B).

    • On the 'network card' and 'See the network computers and devices', I can see box B of area A.
    • I can ping Box B of area A.
    • I can connect on MEDIA sharing on box B of area A.
    • Area C (another system of Windows 7) I can connect to the B area and am presented with a box of authentication to connect to the shares (i.e., box B works as it should).

But the box has double clicking on box B or using \\computername or \\IP_Address the dialog box run, I get the error:

    ----

\\computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network is not present or not started.

    ----

I know that the system is available, because the area C can access... But something's not on the box... It cannot connect to zone B or C. Box

I have disabled the firewall on both systems without result.

I reinstalled the network adapter and Client for Microsoft Networks is installed on the box.

Yet somehow box's not connection to other computers on the network.

Any thoughts on what I should check would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for the help.

OK... so I was able to track down and get it fixed...

I found another symptom (that would be a good way to check and see if you experience the same problem).

In the network and sharing Center, I clicked on "Change advanced sharing settings" in the left column. I found that the radio button under "File and printer sharing" was put on the OFF position.  I started and saved the changes, but when I returned in these settings, it is once again in the off position.

It turned out that the workstation service is set to disabled (which also caused the computer browser service for not being able to boot). I activated the workstation service, started, and set it to automatic.  Then did the same for the computer browser service.

Both of these services running, the "File and printer sharing" it will remain actually on IT, and I am able to connect to other devices on the network in the way I had to.

I can't mark this message as the solution (perhaps because I posted it?) so if someone he will quote as their response to the post office, I'll be able to mark as answer.

  • connect other computers to the internet through an ad hoc network of a connection__ broadband windows 7

I have a HP netbook with a Windows 7-based broadband connection.  I created a residential group of this netbook so other computers running Windows XP can connect to it and use the connection Strip.  I have inconsistent results.  Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

My question how do I set up a gateway to the internet from the netbook to other computers can access the internet.

Do I need to set up a network of residential group for this place?  Is there some settings of internet connection of the netbook I need to change (for now that I disabled the firewall, so it does not interfere).

    Thank you

I do not use a router.  My netbook has a map broadband and a wi - fi card.  Simply, I connect to internet through my broadband card.  I tried other computers to be able to access the internet through that connection, that's why I've set up homegroup (maybe I would not do?)

Anyway, sometimes it works but is not for most.  I'm trying to keep it simple and not get a router, etc. since it is a situation that's going to happen from time to time.

    Thanks for responding!

    Paula

    As posted earlier...

To use your netbook as access wireless router/AP watch these GUI frontends to netsh commands that will do this for you. I do not think that you have ICS enabled to do so.

ICS, in my experience there is a very long time is flakey at best...

FWIW, there are routers broadband accepting adapters broadband videophone/USB/etc function for example. According to what broadband service, you have maybe one depending on your needs.

  • Why other computers cannot connect to the internet with my ad - hoc connection?

    Hi all! Here's my situation.
My friends router is dead and we are in the smack dab Middle no where with no transport and we want the internet.
We have only an Ethernet however.

    Here's my situation.
I want to create an ad - hoc network and share the internet connection using ICS. The problem is, when I secure my ad hoc network with WEP or WPA cannot connect to the network. The network is visible on the computers of my friends (mac and PC) and they put the password nothing is done.

But here's the kicker, when I don't put no security on the network, everything works fine.

How do I create an ad hoc ICS with security network and have not really work?
    Thank you guys!

    Hello

Thanks for posting. If I understand correctly, you experience the problem with the connection of computers using the Ad - hoc network. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Before I continue, I would like to collect some personal information on the issue.

    1. what security software is installed on your computer?

    2. share your protected password put on or off?

The sharing tab is not available if you have only a WLAN card.

    Method 1:

Follow the link below and set the ad hoc network.

Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/set-up-a-computer-to-computer-ad-hoc-network

Set up a wireless network without router

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/adhoc.mspx

    Method 2:

After you follow the steps above to set up ICS on the host computer, make the following changes on other computers (but not on the host computer).

    (a) open Internet Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking network and Internet, and then clicking on Internet Options.

    (b) click on the connections tab, and then click never establish a connection.

    (c) click on LAN settings.

    (d) in the dialog box settings of the network Local (LAN), under automatic configuration, clear the check boxes automatically detect connection settings and use automatic configuration script .

    (e) under Proxy Server, clear the use a proxy server for your LAN check box, and then click on OK.

If the password protection sharing is disabled, I suggest to turn on you or so try if this can help fix the problem.

    Method 3:

Follow these steps and check if that helps.

    (a) click Start, type Control Panel in the search box, press ENTER.

    (b) click on network and sharing Center, click change advanced sharing settings in the left pane.

    (c) click on him to expand the network profile (type) that you want to turn sharing on or off for protected by Word.

    (d) select (dot), turn on password protected sharing.

Please do not type in capital letters because it's difficult to read and considered to be shouting.

Check with support from the manufacturer of your router to reset the SSID and password - most have
    excellent online help and forums.

    ---------------------

Better to use WPA/WPA2 security if they are available and you can hide the SSID that will help
help others to see the network (note on some routers more hide the SSID)
