  • Can I actually delete messages rather than having that they are sent to the Recycle Bin?

I want to know how I can delete messages rather than the envoys in a junk folder or recycle bin and then delete them from there. I have several filters set up and send them to separate subfolders. But of course, when I look at these and remove them, they go in the trash. Then I can actually delete them so that they're gone, that's what I think delete would do in the first place. Is it possible to do so, to delete messages without moving them to the trash and then remove them from there? It is important that I don't miss any messages, I still sometimes do, but I'll have 50 posts or more per day that are trash. Most of them pass through my filters, but if I do not have a daily interview with a bunch of garbage I'd meet a real nightmare.

Make sure that you have subscribed to see gmails trash folder.

Deleted messages should go to [Gmail] /Corbeille.
This will remove labels and store in AllMail until the trash is empty.

  • Just as you can right click on 'trash' to delete messages, thunderbird will add the right click on "sent" to delete sent messages?

Without opening the box to 'Trash' letters, you can right click on 'trash' and empty all the messages at once. When you right click on "sent" there is no option to empty all messages 'sent' at the same time. Thunderbird will add a button "empty sent" in the near future, or we will have to continue highlighting all deleted messages? Thank you

I do not understand the case of use to be 'empty' available in other folders. I can't imagine why I would want a shortcut to "remove all" to the "sent" folder. These messages are part of a conversation; Why would you delete them en masse? Trash, OTOH, contains things that you have already decided that you don't want.

In any case, point to a message in the "sent" folder (or any folder you want), do ctrl + a on the keyboard, then remove it button will zap all of the selected files.

  • Slow to delete message Thunderbird

I am a user of Windows 7. Deleting messages used to be a very quick process little matter whether long or short, he had all the parts attached to, or built in links, or whatever. Now, sometimes fast, but most of the time that I have to wait more than 5 or 6 seconds before the end removal of the place in the trash. I've recently updated to version 31.3.0 which seems that it might have something to do with this version of my wife of Thunderbird 24.6.0 on his Windows 7 machine that receives the same messages with no problem. Y at - it a setting or fix for this or should I try and find the old version and reinstall?

This sounds like anti-problem virus. The worst offender is McAfee, but none are completely except for questions. What antivirus do you use?

  • How can I make Thunderbird store a value over a week of deleted messages?

I want to keep all my deleted messages. Under "account settings > settings > Message storage server," I unchecked "emptying the trash at the exit." But only a week value of deleted messages are kept. The missing messages are not under "Archives". I use an IMAP via Inmotion.comserver.

personally, I doubt inmotions assertions that their imap server is not configured to delete mail from the deleted folder after a week, after all the people who use Outlook appear in forums with exactly the same problem of inmotion.

This is an experiment. Instead of delete archives (press instead of delete.) and see if the mail disappears from archive after a week. My bet not.

  • Delete messages from Gmail, but keep in Apple Mail?

    Hi all.

I use Apple Mail to download my Gmail via IMAP (Apple Mail 9.3, OSX 10.11.5).

The problem is that my Gmail account is complete. To free up space in Gmail, I want to delete messages from Gmail, but keep them locally in Apple Mail. How can I do? I guess it's the server settings, but I don't know if I need to tinker with the Apple Mail, Gmail server settings, or both.

I tried to delete the messages in Gmail, but Apple Mail sync with Gmail and delete them locally, too.

    Thank you!

Activate the sidebar of accounts, so you can see the hierarchy of depot.

You should see a section here which says on my Mac. Click to show it, then right click to add box to the letters it. Call it something like old Gmail 2008-2014. Now you can select your old Gmails mainly Gmail Inbox and sent boxes and drag them to this mailbox on my Mac (folder). If you move hundreds or thousands of emails, here could be a delay before they appear in the new location, so don't panic.

Note: Many users choose simply to archive old emails, but do in Gmail, still continues to them on the server, if you're not reduce used storage space.

I checked my settings and nothing says to download in a deleted messages folder. and besides, what is a deleted message? When I delete an email it goes into the trash, not the deleted messages. you have a phone?

It looks like deleted an IMAP folder (Trash is a Thunderbird convention).

I'm guessing that your mail is to be downloaded to a phone or other device and deleted on the server. The account you have with deleted folder is an IMAP account and synchronize deleted mail because it is where to put the other device.
