Delete the Linux partition and now cannot start PC

Hiya,

I had partitioned my HD to a disk of windows xp and linux by car. I deleted the Linnux partition using the application for the removal of a partition in windows. I cannot start my computer now. When I turn on my PC, I get the screen toshiba with all the small icons and then what follows:

Intel Boot Agent GE v1.2.45
Copyright (C) 1997-2007. Intel Corporation

PXE - E61 Media test failure. check the cable
PXE - M0F: exit Intel Boot agent.
error: no such partition.
grub rescue >

I do not have my recovery as I am overseas at the moment. What can I do? I use a friends pc to write this. The sick PC is a laptop.

I'm not very computer chip - so if you are kind enough to answer for me, please speak slowly and use easy words ;-)

Hello

You can download the Setup from the Microsoft page of WIindows disk:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310994/

Then you could install the Microsoft recovery console that helps you use the commands * Fixmbr and Fixboot * to fix the Boot Manager:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307654/

I think this should help other rational use the Live like BartPe or WinPE disc to boot up the laptop.

  • VMs that partially copied in the new store and now cannot start!

Hi - my team had implemented an ESXi host 4.1 VShere with the VM files kept locally on disks to hosts.

A SIN has been implemented and a storage area available to the host.

A member of the team began to move virtual machines from the local drive Hosts in the NAS storage area, but the bombed process and VMs attempt to start using files on the NAS, even if the files are still on the local storage (unfortunately this included also the VCentre server).

Can someone advise a way to solve this problem!

    Thank you

    Hello
It would be the behavior expected if all the VMDK using absolute paths in the description of vmdk.

easiy, you can check: connection via winscp and upload the VMDK with flat.vmdk or delta.vmdk extension.
Then open them in a texteditor and find absolute path entries

  • I deleted the Flash plugin and now I can't install it again

Hello, I deleted the Flash plugin, and now I can't install it again. I reinstalled Firefox (deleted all the folder Program files and Application data folder), but it did not help.

Flash is not in the folder files Firefox or Firefox Applications programs. This and many other Plugins (not Extensions) are "installed" / pointed to by the Windows registry and the real files are in other locations on your hard drive.

Have you tried to uninstall all THE Adobe Flash from your system and start over?

    1. This will remove all THE Flash of your system - Firefox, IE, all other browsers

    2. Once the removal has completed, follow the previous instructions (see installation or update Adobe Flash above) to download and SAVE programs install on your drive hard for both IE and other browsers (including Firefox)

My only suggestion would be to try some of the suggestions on the Adobe site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html

  • Format HARD drive, delete the recovery partition and recover with disc

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite C660D-17F and want to format my HDD, remove the recovery partition and recover the preinstalled Windows 7 and other software. I don't want to keep my own data, which are all stored already, I just want to be sure I can safely restore preinstalled stuff. I have a few questions that I need help to clear up before I go ahead.

Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition? If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?

I found [this post | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/items/faq/71] which explains the recovery process. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that? It will restore the OS and the software for the backup of dvd drive? Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?

    Added SIDENOTE:
I actually prefer to be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I'm after. Or is there a way?

Sorry, I know that was a long post, but I want to be sure of what will happen BEFORE I'll and spoil things! :) If you got this far, thanks for reading. :)

    Hello

I will try to offer help. ;)
    > Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition?
Yes. Saved on recovery discs recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools and some additional software.
    > If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?
Preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator make recovery disc that includes the recovery image only. It has nothing to do with your personal data.
    > I found this post that explains the process of recovery. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that?
After that, you should use recovery disks created for the recovery image installation.
    > Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?
When you use the recovery disc for your laptop recovery image installation will have factory settings which include the recovery saved on the HARD disk image. To be honest I do not understand why you do not want to have this recovery image on the HARD drive. This allows the installation of recovery using recovery of HARD drive option. But of course you can delete it later for more free space on your HARD drive. Installation image that you can always use created for recovery discs-recovery DVDs.
    > I'd really rather be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I don't want after
    Fix.

Why Illustrator does not accept the 'F1' key as a shortcut? I deleted the default keyboard to "clipping mask/do" command and now I can't use the "F1" key All other command options are used for other shortcuts. Should I delete the Illustrator preferences and start again? If so, how do I?

  • Bootcamp partition extended, now cannot start Windows

Hi all, hope you can help. Running Windows 7 on Bootcamp partition. OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 on the other side.

Needed to make Windows larger partition to install away from port, although comments, not sure that all this pain is worth it. That's what's happened so far:

    1. I enlarged the Bootcamp using disk utility partition

2 restart the computer and now the Alt key, I could not see the usual option to start the Windows partition.

3 then I read that I had to go to the preferences system and make my boot drive Bootcamp, I did.

4 but on reboot, I get the error message "no boot device - insert the diskette and press any".

    5. isn't a step 5. The hope that you could help me find one.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

How to enlarge a Boot Camp partition is either:

    a. assistant Boot Camp use to remove Windows and refer the reader to a single partition. Then reinstall Windows using Boot Camp Assistant by specifying the size of Boot Camp, that you need for now.

    b. use CampTune, a third-party application, to resize one already set up to the Boot Camp partition.

  • I removed a program and now cannot start windows xp.

I removed Smart Draw and chose to make a personalized move. I deleted ALL the files listed. Now, I can't boot the PC. I am running XP Home Edition.

I get the options to start in Safe Mode, etc. No matter which of the 5 options I select, it seems starting to start but then comes to the screen with the 5 options. This loop continues just to themselves.

I don't know why remove a graphics program this causes, but you can try a repair installation.

    I've got Yosemite.
I wanted to increase the size of my bootcamp windows partition, so I searched for a way online, and I found this video:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=zhkdOLXT6Eg

I followed all the steps in the video, but after you have started and to complete the process of the Minitool partition Wizard I got this screen:

This is what looks like my disk utility:

    https://i.gyazo.com/ee9967fc7ac9a2d1ad9afc5cde2f3529.PNG

It seems that free space is always there

Is there a way to fix this?

MiniTool is not recommended because it causes problems and can lead to data loss.

OS X Terminal please after the release of the following OS X Terminal commands. Enter your password when you are prompted by the command 'sudo '.

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

Do not change the partitioning information any more, otherwise, you will lose your Windows data permanently.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

I'm afraid that, as the recovery partitions are parties and if no recovery media is created, the only way to return to the factory default condition is by buying/getting recovery (DVD or USB pen drive) media. You can get the HP recovery media (website or by contacting HP support - these are the recommended means) or by buying some stores online.

  • I deleted the service partition and everything!

    Hello

I deleted the partition of service happily with partition manager and rebooted and then nothing is coming!

I don't have any CD or DVD. Probably, it was on my disks! How the hell do I?

I can buy CDs or should I take on a service center? BTW, I'm in Australia.

    Thanks for your help

Ah the service partition, you need a CD of vista, you? any where? any type of CD of Vista, it is not serious, offers their options of Vista (ultimate, business, base) in one of their CD's then you just need one and do a repair install then launch fix, and it should work.

try to get a cd of vista of the family or a friend if you do not.
