Delete unwanted emails

I use Outlook Express. I can't delete an unwanted email without opening as soon as I put my pointer on it. Also when I close an open e-mail, immediately below email opens, if it has been previously opened or not. This is a real problem because I can not remove the unwanted and offensive emails, nor I can block them before opening.

  • Can I automatically delete unwanted emails from thunderbird?

    There is a current thread.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/blocking-sender

On previous versions, I understand, that there is an option "DELETE for POP3.

I want to delete the emails entirely, not just let them sit in the trash.

    I use Version 31.5.0

Or maybe, if not possible to re - route their return to sender, and can perhaps make them refrain.

    Nope

your safe... I think version to delete just surprises them, just as the shift is done to remove.

Or maybe, if not possible to re - route their return to sender, and can perhaps make them refrain.

Nope bad idea. Most of the sender addresses are people like you and me. So it would create a worse mess than we already have. Unsuspecting individuals would be spammed by sending you your recycled spam folder.

  • How can I delete unwanted emails address?

I no longer use the Charter and want to get rid of accounts email Charter in my T-bird mail - the email of the Charter is grey and says default - how can I get rid of an e-mail account, I no longer use? I removed it in this file:

    C:\Users\jantallent\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\fc9zhx97.default\ImapMail\imap.charter.net

hoping he would address Charter out of my Office T-bird list, but it's still there.

    Jan

I just read a doc T-bird that says even though the email address has been removed successfully, it will be always IN the list of email addresses in the menu for them

Where did you read that? It is quite wrong, IMHO. Indeed, users have been known to 'clear' an account and then express alarm that she and all her messages and folders disappeared. I don't quite know why they are surprised. What one would expect to happen?

What I would say is that remove Thunderbird account does not delete the underlying message store, the contents of a deleted or deleted account can often be extracted.

When you have removed C:\Users\jantallent\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\fc9zhx97.default\ImapMail\imap.charter.net you simply deleted from the message store. This does not remove the account. Indeed, in an account IMAP-connected, that you just deleted will probably be restored when Thunderbird then synchronized with the server.

How do you propose to save, then no doubt, restore these messages? I think you really need to understand more about the profile before doing irreparable damage.

Access your webmail site, sign in to your account, see if these emails are still there. If so, remove them.

If you are the only user, clear the option that says "leave a copy of messages on the server.
Assuming you are using Windows Mail...
Open Windows mail > tools > accounts > your account > properties > advanced. Uncheck 'keep a copy of messages on the server' > OK for the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • hundreds of unwanted emails went to the Inbox

When I look in the mailbox for spam, I have hundreds of old spam came to my Inbox. So, I have to go through all those emails and delete them. So I have a few rules to configure to have emails going to spam. The rules work OK. The problem is that many of these emails sometimes get moved above. Very annoying to have to laboriously deal with hundreds of old unwanted emails. I'm under El Capitan and 9.3 of Mail. How can I stop this from happening?

A way to have the rule to remove the email instead of putting it in junk mail.

What does not work (final deletion; addresses not back when Thunderbird is opened later): 1) right-click and delete; (2.) to write a new email... address list comes on the right pane on the left... click and remove the address e-mail. (3.) what has been suggested in discussion forums about this EXACT, SPECIFIC... with THUNDERBIRD problem. I'm running the 24.4.0 release version. Once more, how do I permanently delete unwanted messages treats (in an address book, "AutoComplete cache", etc.--pick you). Thank you.

  • Even though I have my Windows Mail spam set to the highest level, I continue to receive unwanted emails. For some reason any Windows Mail does not block them. How can I fix it?

I have my blocker spam Windows Mail, the highest value which means I should only receive emails from my contacts.  Despite this, I continue to receive unwanted emails.  This has been so since I've upgraded to Windows 7.  I even went now install a machine program washing 'spam' which was a disaster as well.  I get about 4-5 spam emails a day - usually when I start the morning.

How can I solve this problem?

What Windows Mail in Vista or Windows Live Mail in Win7? If it is a POP3 account, you can filter your messages by using message rules. This is for Outlook Express, but it works the same either of the programs.

Start with the only rule of AddressBook and you receive a message that you want people not in your address book (E-mail from companies, bills, your ISP, etc), you can add them to the rule.

    Box 1 - Where the From line contains people {check it out}

Box 2 - Check: delete it & stop processing more rules if you want messages not in the address book to go to deleted items, or you can create a spam folder and direct them here.

You can choose to delete the server, but be careful because you never have messages downloaded to any folder, if you choose this option.

Box 3 - Click on the blue words contains people

Click on the first address to select it. Scroll to the end and hold down the SHIFT key while you click the last address. This will highlight all. Right-click on it and click on from the menu that appears.

Now, click Options and choose: Message * contains no of * the people below in the top of the page Options area, then choose: Message corresponds to one of the people below in the background Options box.

OK your way out of the new rule.

Now, only the addresses that you entered will be uploaded to your Inbox. You won't see other emails.

Remember, if you add a person to your address book, you must add to the rule. It will not automatically be added.

Be sure to see these links for more options.

  • I use a shared email address Cox (with my husband) on my devices.  When I delete an email it is removed too much of its aircraft.   Help?

I use a shared on my Mac Mail Cox email address.  When I delete an email from my device, it deletes my joint so devices.  You have a solution, in addition to the creation of separate emails?

You're both using the same account. No matter what each of you don't will be reflected on all your devices. To stop this see:

Using more an iDevice on the same computer

This mainly applies to couples who add another device and don't want their electronic mail, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To start reading: How to use several iPhone, iPad or iPod devices with one computer. You must create a login separate Apple and password for anyone who will use the new iDevice. See Apple - my Apple ID and frequently asked questions about the Apple ID. The easiest way is to do it on the computer using iTunes: iTunes - how to set up an Apple ID iTunes.

On the computer, create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This is the user account always uses this person. He or she will no longer use the other user account. This way the person will have a separate iTunes library. Note When finished, do not 'share' apps under a single Apple ID. Each of you must buy your own applications under your own Apple ID. When you decide to divide like this you will have to buy new applications they want to use.

First, transfer the new devices to a new account as well as all your data.  Save pictures of flow picture you want to keep for your camera (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap Albums icon at the bottom. Now press the album My Photo Stream; Press Select; tap the photo you want to select. tap the share (box with the face up arrow) in the lower left corner icon; in the film, and then click Save.

If you synchronize notes with iCloud, you want to keep, you must open each of your notes and email it to yourself. Later, you can copy and paste the text into the new notes created in your new account.

Tap Settings > iCloud > remove account (removes it only from this device, not iCloud; the person who maintains the current account is not affected) provide the password to disable find my phone and choose to keep on my iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with another Apple ID to create your new account. Choose merge to download your data.

Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and remove data from the other person to your account.

The above was created by the user randers4. Changes were made to improve the readability and the syntax.
