  I also suggest an Inplace upgrade which will help you to repair your operating system. You will need a CD/DVD of the XP operating system.

  I get the following message appears when you try to REMOVE a program using the Add / REMOVE PROGRAMS. "Year error occurred while launching the Setup program" "library not registered".

  This is caused when you try to uninstall several older programs

  Perhaps a dll (dynamic link library) must be re-entered.

  Open a run window (Windows Logo key + R), type REGSVR32 APPWIZ. CPL (capitals are for clarity only, but note the space) and press ENTER.

  And then type REGSVR32 MSHTML. DLL and press ENTER.
