Deletion of a previous backup

Hello

Today, I replaced my old iPhone with a new iPhone.  The two are the exact same phone, an iPhone 6 + iOS 9.3, the latest version of the software running.  When I implemented the new phone, I used the backup from my old phone to restore all of my apps, photos, etc.  It worked well.  Now, however, the backup to iCloud gives me problems.  Ideally, I want a backup stored in iCloud, and I want this backup to my new iPhone.  However, I can't back up and save my backup on my new phone.  Whenever I click 'Back Up Now', the bar does not move and the phone will not backup.  Also, I am trying to remove the old backup, because it is no use for me and is just too much room.  Any suggestions?

You can add another drive to accept backups Time Machine... assuming it is correctly formatted for Mac to Mac OS extended (journaled), but things are not exactly "continue."

You have not indicated if you intend to add the player to the USB port on the Time Capsule, or connect directly to your computer using USB or FireWire connections. Or the other method works, with the option to connect directly to the computer being the faster connection.

Once the disc is added, you would go in Time Machine preferences (click the "clock" at the top of the screen on your Mac) to add the disk for Time Machine backups and delete the old Time Capsule disk, since backups will go is no longer this destination.

Since you have a new drive, Time Machine will do a new full backup of your Mac and then go forward with incremental backups.

  • Delete previous backups

After a number of backups from my external drive of 232G is essentially complete.  Can I safely delete the previous backups to make room for the new?

If they are all backups, Yes. If they are incremental backups,
    None.

I got this yesterday after the 3.6.4 problem upgrade. I'm not sure if I saw all the things you did, but I have def lost all bookmarks and the back button. I fixed it by:
    1. go to the Firefox profile directory, which for me is here but 1st bit will be different for you as mine work specific:

    C:\Documents and Settings\U049177\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\soez0lvk.default
    2 delete places.sqlite and places.sqlite - journal

    3. start Firefox (you should have the back button now works but not Favorites, he recreated to these 2 files)

    4. in the menu, bookmarks and then organize bookmarks, then button import and backup, then restore, then select a day to restore from. You should now have your backups Firefoxes bookmarks.

    Hope this works for you

  • Think that rescue and recovery - Vantage won't erase the previous backups

I use the current version of the tool think Vantage

Need to make more space for backups, so I had to delete the previous backups.

It goes into deleting previous backup mode with the red dots transiting via the command prompt.

But it does not stop... I think I need to reintall the tool, what do you think?

    Thank you

It seems to work, as usual, I was just excited.

  • I back up files regularly, what happens to the previous backups

build up my previous backups? If if I can delete them and how

    Moved from feedback
    Unknown Windows version

It depends on how you save them; you will need to provide more details.

Normally the backups will replace files with the same name unless you take steps to prevent this.

If you want to remove files to locate and press the delete key.

  • Bookmark restoring crashes Firefox so need to export the previous backup and import to restore

Attempt to synchronize my home and my work of bookmarks.

Started at home, but they are ones I want to overwrite; I want that work to master all. When I realized that I couldn't choose which computer was the dominant set, I stopped and waited until I was at work.

Today at work, I started again. Now the game on my work machine has been replaced by those of the House that I didn't.

When I followed the "restoration of the backup procedure" the browser hangs and I have to force quit Firefox.

If I can export a previous backup, maybe I can import it and replace what is currently in place, unless you can suggest a way to keep Firefox hanging out every time.

    Thank you

  • Time Capsule shows no previous backup

-Time Machine wants to do a backup complete of any HD on MBP; shows some previous backups, but shows used the Time Capsule disk storage:

In Time Machine preferences, I have two 2 options for a backup drive, both called 'Data' but showing different icons:

    and

I am pretty confused at this point and don't know what to do.  I searched a lot of things, but can not find someone with this issue says .

    Any help would be appreciated!

You have massively changed the network.

So it is little surprise that TM has lost connection. TB is no longer in the same place.

-Time Machine wants to do a backup complete of any HD on MBP; shows some previous backups, but shows used the Time Capsule disk storage:

That's okay... because of the new configuration TM cannot detect the old backup, until she starts again. Apple never indicate anywhere... but TM can never find older backups on a network when they moved the place. It is a fact of how works the beastie TM.

What you need to do, is to be very brave. Feeling brave?

Select the data... the dancing men would probably be best. (Which means a network of road... wireless icon means a disk on the wireless... and will most likely also work... After all, it's the same thing).

And TM will say that it will start a new backup in 120 sec (I never understood the timed fuse 2 min. time to clear the building?)

When TM begins... She will discover that the old backup is always there... Check for fingerprints... I own it... Check it against your current hard drive... If all extracted TM will then make an incremental backup... You are reconnected to your backups... woo hoo!

In case of failure... you will have a new backup and an old... It's also very well... wait a few weeks or a month or two... and then you can remove the old backup of the TC. Or store it on a USB key if the atmosphere is for old things.

Apple documentation for most things is now seriously lacking. All the technical aspects are hidden from the great unwashed.

  • How to recover the data since the previous backup for iPhone?

Data restored from iTunes for iPhone; need to go further to get a previous restoration.

You can only do if you have a previous backup.

You are given a choice. If is not available, then you don't have a previous backup to restore from.

  • Last update, iOS 9.2, eliminated the function "search" in the email, I used massively.  Tried to restore to a previous backup, 15/2, and 'research' does not return, always shows iOS 9.2 in my settings.  How do I return search function?

The last update, iOS for iPad mini 4, 12.7 9.2 GB of capacity, has eliminated the search function in the email, I used very strongly.  Tried to restore to a previous backup, 15/2, and 'research' don't come back and always shows iOS 9.2 in my settings.  Yesterday, a new useful feature appeared, an entry 'return to mail' at the top left of the screen (Safari, at least), which now also seems to be missing. Siri, I don't want to bother with earlier, continues to display everytime I try to go back to the home page of apps/programs, is driving me crazy.  Except for limited iPad usage (mail, Safari for the links from emails, play music, some reading books mainly) mainly am only moderately competent Windows PC user, so am frustrated at best. Any ideas on how to restore or add this feature to return search (and get Siri shut up!)?

You can disable Siri in settings/general if you want to completely disable the function.  I suppose that you use the Home button to return to the home screen.  If you press the button too long, Siri is enabled.  Too long is not very long, so you must quickly press and release the Home button.

    Good day.

  • How to restore a previous backup on a new install of XP Pro and HARD disk?

I have experienced HARD drive failure last week and has spent a lot of time trying to retrieve the data. I have a previous backup on an external drive, but when I try to restore the files to a new HARD disk with a new installation of XP Pro - files copy them all, but none of the programs or features network work?

I was going to just to reinstall everything from scratch and just use the recovered data and log files after all the programs I use for my business back... Is there an easier way? Why Windows does not support a backup feature when it does not replicate the system on a new HARD drive correctly or I do something wrong? I can access is no longer the disc HARD death after that I got everything I could out of it (2 x backup and a copy of all important files) before it just completely fried.

I bought a new HARD drive and installed XP then tried restoring the system to a new HARD disk and all the files are there, but not where they all should be (My Documents is empty and aka 'Of Joe Documents' are stored in a separate folder elsewhere in the new HARD drive) and none of my programs work properly - my antivirus software (CA Security Suite 2009) is , but continues to tell me that none of this is installed. Microsoft Office does not work - tells me that it's just a trial - and Outlook will not retrieve my emails, Outlook looks like not even the same. None of my networks will work with other office machines, but somehow, I have access to the internet through the network...!

I have to format the new HARD drive in the same directory that the backup was of? (he's currently: / instead of C: / for some reason any) And the name of the account PC should be accurate? (he is currently Documents of Pete Peter's Documents instead).

I feel blurred by microsoft because I myself prepared for something as it happens and now my company is still paralyzed because the backup does not restore the functionality of my system. Please tell me if I did something wrong and I don't have to buy all my software licenses again after reinstalling ALL my software that has already been restored from a backup. I spent the last few days to Google search without result.
