«Deletion of...» Windows is currently working with a file... »

I have Windows XP Professional; has attempted to remove photos from my camera memory chip and nothing happened.  I have closed my photo files, removed my photo chip and later tried to shut down my computer.  I get a message

«Deletion of...» Windows is currently working with a file.  Wait for Windows to finish, or close it before you quit Windows. »

I tried to re - insert the picture disc, copy photos, look at the pictures, etc.  Still, I get the same message and can't locate anywhere to cancel the deletion process, so I shut down my computer.  Any suggestions?

Sorry, I should have mentioned, I tried and there was nothing at the end of task display on.  The box is empty.

Maybe restart your computer will be the fix.
