  I assume you actually mean that you have a printer HP Photosmart 8250?

  One thing probably listed in these forums is to replace the printer inherited by a support by the manufacturer of equipment under an operating system, that you have chosen to run... That failed?  * smile *.

  Honestly - reviews and other for this printer back in 2004 I can say - it means that this printer is old enough (although more recent you).  I'm shocked they kept alive that long, really.  Looking at the Vista drivers and others, later are of March 2007, over 5 years.

  I think you you would save a lot of time and invest in a newer printer that is designed to work with modern operating systems, :-) grief

  I upgraded Vista to Windows 7 laptop, three days ago. Previously, running Vista, I printed on my LAN (based on a Netgear DG834G v.2) on an OKI C5250n printer. But I can't make my computer Windows 7 see the printer. An another XP computer prints normally.
  The Working Group is called MSHOME and my new Windows 7 is apparently set to share on the same workgroup.
  If I try to 'add printer' I get a warning that I can't do "due to restrictions on this computer" and I need to see my system administrator - that is me and I don't have what it can refer to!

  I succeeded in printing by connecting directly via the USB port, but has not recently by a spoolsv.exe problem (which I asked a separate question).

  Please can you suggest my next steps.

  The printer is configured to use the same port it was Vista, namely the TCP/IP port.

  You are prompted to do so by your indication of a faulty print driver, I have installed the latest on the OKI web site but the printer fails to operate on the network. Next step is OKI technical services I guess.

  Just bought a Samsung R480 today and discovered that my existing printer is not compatible with it. The Setup disk only works with Windows XP and Vista. Samsung R480 running Windows 7 at the moment.  I was also considering changing my desktop computer for Windows 7 as well.

  So my question is, is it possible to request an another HP installation cd that is compatible with Windows 7? Or I have to buy a new printer that is compatible with Windows 7?

  The FN key disables and active BT and the WLan by turning airplane mode on or off. If you want to enable the BT or Wlan, you need to go into settings to win 8 PC-> Wireless-> BT switch

  If you have installed Windows 8 and it is a Dell computer, have you installed the drivers in the correct order, Dell System Software (if applicable) and the first chipset drivers? How to download and install drivers in the correct order If it is not first a Dell computer, chipset drivers?

  If I'm not mistaken, it is an older printer and was made before Vista. Usually using the Vista drivers, if applicable can work. I also use the drivers XP 64-bit on some models.

  Download the drivers XP 64 - bit for the Dell 810 printer and follow the steps and install them on the drivers in XP SP3 compatibility mode.

  Run print jobs remove, restart your computer, disconnect the printer, run the patch (cleaning of printer utility), restart your computer. Make sure that the printer has been removed, install the drivers for XP 64 bit in XP SP3 compatibility mode. You should get invited to connect to the printer.

  Have you you get prompt enough to allow the printer after your anti-virus program? Enable the printer after Microsoft Essentials/Windows Defender

  8.1 Windows comes with Internet Explorer 11. I hope that the original version is up and running. Windows Update comes from Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 and 8, and it has caused problems of print spooler. We found that removing IE11 and going back to IE 10 or an earlier version has solved this problem. Something you can't do with Windows 8. Unless there was an update to Internet Explorer is the last month or two that you can remove, issues of print spooler will perform until Microsoft releases an update.

  Hoping that the speed of my pc programs didn't mess up your computer too, you can try the instructions below.

  First run, delete print jobs to eliminate any print job stuck in the queue.

  Unplug the printer.

  Download and run the patch (cleaning printer utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

  Restart your computer. Make sure that the printer is deleted. Deleting Manual printer driver

  Download the 32-bit drivers for Vista for Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64 bit Vista. Install the Vista drivers in Vista compatibility mode, you will get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at the moment (power on).

  Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see when you print from Excel to your HP Deskjet 2540 printing comes empty or with very weak lines. You have a lot of ink, and you have no problem printing from other programs. You tried to uninstall and reinstall the software without success.

  I would like to first you attempt to change the quality setting, you can have currently set to normal, we will try to print in optimized mode and see if that helps:

  1. go to your Start Menu

  2. go to your devices and printers

  3. right click on your DJ 2540 and navigate to Printing Preferences

  4. click on the paper/quality tab

  5. Select the best mode

  6. click on apply

  Now try printing from Excel, you still get blank pages? Please let me know the results if you are still running into errors let me the following information:

  1. What is your current operating system, Windows or Mac and what version?

  2. What is the connected USB printer or wireless?

  3. are there any exceptional computer upgrades that have not been installed?

  I understand that you are no longer able to print with the P1006 on Win8.1.

  Did you first uninstall the P1006?

  If not uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.

  The two drivers are the same, if you look at the version on the Web site and should continue to work with the Win8.1.
