Dell Openmanage 7.4 64-bit on Poweredge 6850 with 2012 Windows Datacenter Server does not recognize the storage controllers
I installed the package Dell OMSA 7.4 (OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-WINX64-7.4.0-866_A00) on my Poweredge 6850 with Windows Server 2012 - Datacenter. Everything works fine, except for the storage controller. The OMSA displays the message: no storage controller found. Can you help me?
That is a difficult question because OMSA stopped supporting older systems of the gen 8 back to 6.x what OMSA 6.5 works with 8 Gen but most customers will find the more stable 5.5 with 8 gen systems. Now, the other problem is that Sever 2012 is not listed as an operating system supported for Dell 8th gen systems either. Obviously, it works, since you have it installed, but you may encounter compatibility problems. Particularly like this this is not a systems management configuration that will work well.
Windows 2008 R2 work OMSA 6.5.

If it just happened all of a sudden, you can restore the registry files of the system in working order by following option n ° 1 on this page. If this does not work, you can be reasonably sure that the configuration of the system is not the problem and start looking into other possibilities as a broken drive or a bad connection inside the cable.
Windows 7 64 bit does not recognize the external hard drive. I have an old 250 GB Western Digital external hard drive. Neither of my windows 7 machines recognize it. It does not show in the device, Manager of the computer Manager or Explorer. Any help would be appreciated. THX Mike

Try following the steps under "Windows 7 or Windows Vista" in the MS KB article:
These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.
Create a System Restore Point beforehand and restart the computer later.
My computer has not worked since I stopped him during an automatic update. Which I have been kicking myself since then, but the last time that he updated, he beat the computer and I panicked.
Anyway, it won't run certain programs, including iTunes and a large part of MS Office, and no matter how many times I try to reinstall, they still do not work, saying: "side by side configuration is incorrect."
What I want is to restore it to factory settings - all my data is secured and sustained upward. But when I put in my recovery disks (and they are the highest boot priority in the BIOS) the system takes care of the hard drive as usual. When I remove the ability to boot from the hard drive, my system no reserves at all, telling me to restart or insert a suitable disc. And when I boot from the disk and try to run it manually, by clicking ETFSBOOT, it tells me that "the version of this file is not this version of the file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x 86 (32 bit) or an x 64 (64-bit) version of the program. »
I have double and triple checked this - my system is 64-bit. My records are 64-bit. As far as I know, the computer got garbled during the automatic update and now part of it think it's 32-bit (some programs are divided into sections 32-bit and 64-bit). All I want to do is to reinstall windows, but I don't know what to do because it does not recognize my discs! Any suggestions, internet?
Thank you very much.
In addition, if it is relevant, I'm Windows Vista on an ASUS K50IJ laptop. I do not have the windows install disc because the computer was shipped with windows installed, but I have the recovery disc ASUS (which have been used to restore my computer in the past).
Since you are unable to open programs like iTunes or Office, you can try to perform the system restore and check if it helps.
Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
To run the system restore, you can consult the following link:
About the factory restore the question, you need to contact ASUS support for additional help on ASUS recovery disks.

Contact Dell for hardware support.
Anyone else have this same problem? I got my 11 Pro last night (from Dell direct) coming, I tried several SD cards, and none of them does not seem to work. It does not recognize that anything has been inserted into the slot. Very frustrating.
Out of curiosity, have you tried different formatting on SD cards to see if it helped the recognition (eg. exFAT, NTFS)?
I installed zimbra desktop on a fresh windows 7 64 bit. and I chose zimbra desktop to the default e-mail client. m$ internet explore open zimbra desktop when I click on a mailto link. but in firefox I can only choose 'thunderbird', 'yahoo mail' and 'google mail' as the mail clients by default when I click on a mailto link.
I tried this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/984225 but it does not solve my problem.
I have windows 7 64-bit, firefox 29.0.1 and zimbra desktop 7.2.5 installed.
Thanks for your reply. with Process Monitor , I was able to debug the problem and find a solution.
Zimbra Desktop does not have key of registry HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Shell/Associations/UrlAssociations/mailto/UserChoice but firefox only reads the key.
so to summarize what I did, here a list:
- Remove mimeTypes.rdf as described here
- Delete HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Shell/Associations/UrlAssociations/mailto and all of its subkeys or change HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Shell/Associations/UrlAssociations/mailto/UserChoice/Progid to "ZimbraDesktop.Url.mailto".
- of the ZimbraDesktop made ZimbraDesktop as default mail client

I just bought an i-Touch used on Ebay. I have two computers: Dell 8300 and Toshiba Satellite. Both run Win. I downloaded the latest versions of i-Tunes for both systems. Obviously, there must be a missing driver from Dell. Help me Obi Wan.

I am unable to get my laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit to recognize my 2 TB Seagate external drive. Seagate tech suggests that I need a chipset driver-whatever that is. I reformatted the drive on my desktop to make three partitions: one for my office, one for my laptop and a spare part for what I might need to. Then, I downloaded DiscWizard on Seagate website. It works on my desktop, but not my laptop. My laptop is a Vostro 3550 about three years, and I've never had other USB connection problems. I tried all three USB ports and none works. My office is older, about 6 years old.
The error message is the following
