x 8 connection distance MXI causes conflicts with my on my Dell Precision T3600 PCI slot
Hi all
The easiest to say is that I am migrating from a x 4 MXI explicit connection to an x 8 MXI express connection and when I do I get an error on the motherboard which is unable to load the single PCI slot.
Error in WIn7 64 bit Device Manager reports a yellow exclamation point
Device "Intel (r) 82801 PCI Bridge - 244 properties"
The error listed in the device status box: "this device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) »
Unfortunately, I need this slot machine to run a card calendar to conjucton with PXI hardware. There is no anomaly when I used the x 4 connections with virtually the same loadout except for one Exchange a PXI-5122 (x 4 config) to SMU 5122 (x 8 config).
If I leave the MXI PCIe card in but do not connect to chassis PCI slot SMU (and the fine card appear.)
If I remove the PCI card into the slot, the error still occurs.
I swapped the x 8 card and NVidia graphics card without success (the 16 x only two slots).
I photographed the reader and removed the H310 Dell PERC RAID card and charged the RAID array RAID integrated Intel C600 and still no change.
I have updated BIOS to A07 to latest A08.
I updated the Intel Chipset at the latest on the Dell Web site.
I guess that I just wonder at this point if someone is able to run a x 8 MXI express at SMU with a Dell Precision T3600, T5600 or a T7600 chassis.

NI MAX report is attached as a text file.
After much work by NI Applications Engineer Kyle K, this problem has been resolved.
I'll post the solution to this PC dependent problem here, just in case it will help others in a similar situation.
It seems that Dell sometimes uses one default BIOS quite restrictive on the number of PCI bus in these (and other). By allowing several PCI bus, you will be able to list all the devices in the sacrifice of some memory available for OS 32 bit running on 4 GB of RAM. No problem for me because I'm under 64 bit OS.
Congratulations to Kyle even if he has not posted here yet for him give real congratulations.

Lack of Dell Optiplex 790, PCI Simple Communications controller driver
Performed a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro on my Dell OptiPlex 790. Everything went well and all device drivers have been installed except one, the Intel AMT - GROUND device. The vendor id is 8086 and the device id is 1C3D. Can help you with this question?
Thank you.
-Jim
It seems that it is the Intel Series driver LAN. Your computer was never tested by Dell for Windows 10, which means there is no new driver created by Intel, etc., that can work. You can google Intel AMT/GROUND and see if Intel has a driver for your chipset that can work. It looks like Dell stopped supporting your computer for Windows 8.0

Nothing to do with the DIR - 655 and Dell Wireless 1505 PCI Mini Card router
Hello, I'm struggeling with my new Latitude D830 and the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini Card. It won't connect wireless to my D - Link DIR-655 router.
I am now running Vista, but I had the same problem on the same computer with Windows XP.
I have set up my network with WPA2 only and mode mixed ng. I have 3 other computers on the network who have no problems.
When I try to connect, I see the network at full power and I am prompted for the password. He responds with "Windows is unable to connect to..." ». When you try to diagnose it, he tells mark that "Windows has no recevice any response from the wireless router. In the event log, I found "status of the Association: Fail code reason for 0 x 00038002 0x00000002".
Can anyone help?

Card PCI-E graphic for Dell Optiplex 755 SFF
Hi all
I have an Optiplex 755 SFF 275W PSU and PCI-E video slim with. Graphics on this series are awful - video DVD playback cannot without jerking. I spent a few hours trolling on the web trying to determine which video card will work in the 755. The general consensus of the 'guaranteed' card is the Radeon HD 2400 PRO. So, I managed to follow a fact (after trying a 5570 & it not even leave the PC start), had shipped here and installed. To see that it does not too leave the PC startup. So typical of Dell to make the PC which are incredibly limited. What is the point of having a PC capable of running Win 7 (will have 8 GB of DDR2 RAM, has currently of 2 GB and currently has a Dual E6550 - core 2.3 Ghz CPU) when he cannot take a card even modestly spec'd? This is the last time that I buy Dell.
Anyway, having spent the mug shot (ah, much better, thank you)-why the this junky 755 will only take the so-called "guaranteed" HD 2400 PRO? When I try to start it up, it not this stupid pre-start high ramp / down fans, then turns off, try again, then turns off, then on the 3rd go fans just go hard on & stay like that for as long as I care to leave. If I take the HD 2400 PRO on & put this stupid DVI adapter card in the PCI-E slot, it's all good.
No changes have been made to the 755 - it's just a standard stock machine. If for some bizarre reason, all others using the HD 2400 PRO with the 755 SFF tell bald-faced lies (that is, they are not really using a HD 2400 PRO at all), what are the other maps? I see that the motherboard has "25W" appear next to the slot PCI - E - but the HD 2400 PRO is rated at 25 w max.
Buy the 755 was supposed to be an inexpensive way to make a living desktop PC. I don't want to lose more money on cards that don't work. And the HD 2400 PRO was relatively expensive for such an old map, obsolete (crazy NZD$ 42 - when a 5570 is only NZD$ 65).
Any help / constructive suggestions appreciated.

Form factor of the graphics cards that work with the Dell Optiplex 760 desktop computer?
Hello
So I recently got this Dell OptiPlex 760 desktop form factor that I really like and I would get a video card for it.
It's the desktop form factor. The second largest next to the mini tower. There a 240W (or 250?) food I don't want to change. I would like a GPU that works with a supply of 240 w.
I wish it were less than 60 dollars. I do some light games (Minecraft) and want to join a substantial amount of FPS with this game. Suggestions of the card?
I'll give you more information.
It fits into all THE MODELS except the USFF because USFF has no slots. You will need to remove the flange size and use the version of low profile.
cs_setInnerHtml ('video_9366bb5b-9fda-4cca-bfea-c4ec470df1e3', ");
Maximum power allowed is 25W on low profile units.
It is also why they Print 25W max on the 16 X video slot.

SMU-PCIe8371 works not properly
Hello
I use a card SMU-8370 MXIe to control an SMU-1065 chassis from a workstation R5400 Dell using a PCIe-8371. The Dell is running Windows 7 and I have the platform up-to-date services MAX and PXI installed (supplied with 2010 DS2 quarterly update discs). However, when I opened MAX any of my PXI or devices appear (I have a PXI-5922 with more to come). The SMU devices are working (I have an SMU-5442 right now). I don't know why the PXI devices wouldn't work but attached is a screenshot of my device manager. I do not get one "this device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12). If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. "error for several PCI-PCI bridge as well as the SMBus drivers.
I read some of the various articles in the knowledge base related to errors of MXIe controller like this, but they seemed overwhelmed and fully apply to my situation. Anyone has any advice on how to fix this?
Thank you
Tim
Hi Robert,.
I actually could finally solve this problem by reversing the PCIe slots in the Dell R5400. I don't check the rev on the PCIe-8371 since it does not need now.
Original configuration Slot PCI (code error 12 in device for some devices Manager)
Expansion slot 1, PCIe x 8 v1.0a: PCIe-8371, MXIe PCIe adapter
2, PCI - x expansion slot: vacuum
Expansion slot 3 PCIe x 16 v1.0a: graphics NVIDIA Quadro 295
4, PCIe x 16 v1.0a expansion slot: Intel X 520 - DA2, Dual Port 10GbE adapter
New Configuration of PCI Slot (all devices recognized successfully in Manager devices, but also MAX)
Expansion slot 1, PCIe x 8 v1.0a: Intel X 520 - DA2, Dual Port 10GbE adapter
2, PCI - x expansion slot: vacuum
Expansion slot 3 PCIe x 16 v1.0a: graphics NVIDIA Quadro 295
4, PCIe x 16 v1.0a expansion slot: PCIe-8371, MXIe PCIe adapter
At first I was hesitant to put the 10GbE adapter in the x 8 slot since it's PCIe v1.0a. After doing the calculations, I'd still have the bandwidth full 10GbE on this niche (I use only 1 port 10GbE adapter). I guess I should have tried that earlier when it was first proposed.
Kind regards
Tim

EMC Ex3 - 40f, Qlogic ISP 2432 and RHEL 4 x86_64
I have a blade of 1855 w / daughter CF card. The OS is RHEL AS 4 update 5 x86_64. I recently installed this OS and have it connected to an EMC3 40f, which presents this host w / 100GB RAID5 LUN. First of all, I did this: (orders in "BOLD", released in BLUE)
1. register with RHN
2 up2date rpm-build redhat-config-RPM
3. up2date - get-source kernel
4. rpm-ivh /var/spool/up2date/kernel*.src.rpm
5. cd/usr/src/redhat/SPECS
6 rpmbuild - bp - target = x86_64 kernel - 2.6.spec
7. cp-a /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.9/linux-2.6.9/usr/src
8. ln-s /usr/src/linux-2.6.9 usr
The steps above were made so that these steps should compile without any problem
9 tar - xvf qla2xxx - v8.01.00 - 3dkms.tar.gz
10. rpm-ivh dkms - 2.0.5 - 1.noarch.rpm
11 rpm - ivh qla2xxx - v8.01.00 - 3dkms.noarch.rpm
Step 11 will produce the following:
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:qla2xxx ########################################### [100%]Create a symbolic link /var/lib/dkms/qla2xxx/v8.01.00/source->
/usr/src/qla2xxx-V8.01.00DKMS: Add Completed.
Construction of module to the kernel running has been ignored since the
for this kernel kernel sources does not appear to be installed.Hmm... I thought that I just added the CBC core following steps 1 through 8. These steps are listed here: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_85_5109.shtm
I also installed the EMCPower. Linux - 5.0.0 - 157.rhel.x86_64.rpm under the default location. It has now SANsurferCLI and SANsurfer (gui).
When I rebooted the machine, I see dmesg:

Adding disks to update 2 ESX 3.5 Server
Hello
I added 2 extra disks(300GB) to our server ESX 3.5 Update 2 (use local storage on the server), but the ESX Server is not picking up these extra drives like all, I did re-scanner but does not collect these discs. The server we have is a Dell PowerEdge2950. Could some please advise correct how to add additional disks to the ESX Server.
Thank you
vmguy
You will most likely find the documentation for the specific RAID controller, use the DELL web page. Usually, it's as easy to enter in BIOS RAID controllers, while the host starts, creating a RAID set of new unused disks and configuration of a logical volume (DELL so-called virtual disks in their documentation) on the RAID.

The good hardware specification to run ESXi
I have plan to run about 2 DCs and 4 servers on a single VMWare ESXi 3.5 or 4 Exchange and use the local storage and not SAN for our software development department.
What would be a good spec for the material of their performance? I know that it depends on how it will be used, number of users, etc, but I'm looking for a more general recommendation based on your experiences.
The processor type, the number of processors and amount of memory.
I looked at DELL PE 2950 with the following specifications:
-2 x Quad Core Intel Xeon X 5355 2x4MB Cache, 2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB
-16 GB of memory
-2 x SAS HD 10 K rpm 200 (use as Raid1)
And if there is a big difference in performance running Exchange 03/07 on a VMWare ESXi vs physical?
This DELL poweredge2950 will be fine.
I just came across this whitepaper http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere_perf_exchange-storage-protocols.pdf
It is perhaps of no use to you

Dell Optiplex PC 390: the driver for the PCI device is not installed
In "Devices and printers" my desktop unit shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation point.
When I click on "help" I get the message "PCI device driver is not installed. When I try 'apply this correction', nothing happens, it retains only the search.
I've read to go to "Control Panel > Device Manager" and click on the part of the problem, then click on "Details > hardware ID" and I get the following:
PCI\VEN_1FD4 & DEV_1999 & SUBSYS_01011FD4 & REV_00
PCI\VEN_1FD4 & DEV_1999 & SUBSYS_01011FD4
PCI\VEN_1FD4 & DEV_1999 & CC_070800
PCI\VEN_1FD4 & DEV_1999 & CC_0708
I don't know where to take from here. Can anyone help?
Thank you
Kathy
Hi, Kathy:
Here is the link for the driver you need...

Hello
I have a chassis PXI-1050, conencted to a Dell OptiPlex 9020 via a PXI-8360 and a PCI-8361 (identified as 199392B - 01L). It is Windows 7 64-bit. I can't start Windows very well, but MAX can't see all my PXI hardware. The Device Manager has also 2 inputs "PCI standard PCI to PCI bridge" with exclamation points.
I placed an old FireWire PCI card in the same dwelling and recognized PC. Thus, the slot went very well.
I transferred the PCI-8361 to an old PC that contains older drivers, and he acknowledged all my PXI hardware. For example, PXI gear works fine.
What could be the problem? Here's a screenshot of my software OR installed. I think I installed all the drivers I need. I checked NI Update Service; There is no update of Critcal, and only updates and Service Packs listed are 2013 LabVIEW and TestStand 2013.
JKSH,
I look in that little bit more and think that I now know enough to be dangerous.
The BIOS allows the PCI Express native control mode in Windows. PCIe natively do not like some of the architecture when you use the PCI card version, so it disables the bridges on the PXI card. I can tell that your OS is PCIe natively because it lists one of the ports as "PCI standard PCI Express to PCI/PCI-X bridge" Device Manager like you posted.
I found that you can disable PCIe native mode, if you want to try it (but in general using the card PCIe is a better option). Here are the steps:
-Open the start menu and type "cmd" in the search box; Right click on "cmd.exe" and run as administrator.
-In the command window, type "bcdedit/set pciexpress forcedisable.
-Reboot.
I don't think it would break anything (it doesn't have on a system I've tried). If you want to reverse the trend, the command is ' bcdedit/set pciexpress by default'
