• Dell Server randomly abandons the connection to users.

  My Dell Server randomly abandons the connection to users in a building where the server does not find.  Different computers will sign the account and then randomly lose the connection to the server.  Thoughts?

• PowerEdge T310 - install second disc as raid1 with dell server administration software?

  Hi all

  Quick question - we have a PowerEdge T310 with a disk in it. We want to install a second drive and put them in raid1. Issues related to the:

  1. Can we use software from dell server administrator to do?
  2. This will delete the volume on the current drive.

  In a perfect scenario, we want to just install the second disk, set up in raid 1 and call it a day.

  If your drive is existing in a single drive RAID 0, so it CAN be converted on the fly to a 2 drive RAID 1.

  If your existing drive is a volume not RAID, she cannot be converted on the fly without loss of data.

  Hi, I was wondering if someone had met the total fiasco that is the recent Dell Server cashback promotion?

  More than a month, I bought a server Dell Poweredge T20 Ebuyer.Com

  This server is part of the DellTradeToSave £80 cashback promotion, so resembled a lot.

  After a wait of 30 days, I tried to submit my claim cashback. I have provided all the necessary information, although was unable to select the product, because the Poweredge T20 appears four times in the drop-down menu, with additional numbers that have nothing to do with the product. I took one on the list.

  Then I received an email from Dell, explaining that, although I had attached the receipt as requested, it was not enough because he didn't understand a number of VAT of Ebuyer (he did).

  They also requested a picture of the label of 'service' - this was not mentioned in the claims of the whole process. I duly interruption planned for my new server, disconnected, moved, photographed the tag and sent.

  I sent the receipt yet once and was briefed again once I had need of a different receipt, provided by Ebuyer.

  I contacted duly Ebuyer for another recipe that they provided.

  I sent this to 'DellTradeToSave', but this time, the DELL Representative decided that this reception "was not acceptable because ' it does not contain the logo of retailers!

  I contacted Ebuyer and they claim to have never heard of such a pantomime to request a deal of cashback from any other company.

  Indeed, my previous purchase of server (now several years ago) was a HP Proliant, who also had a cashback similar face which was covered in the next few days with absolutely no build-up.

  Everybody knows such an irritating and disastrous service trying to have the honor of DELL a cashback deal?

  Although it is only £80, it certainly leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

  I have dell servers.  I was told that there are agents that can be installed on the ESX for OpenManage Server.  But all I find is for ESXi 3.5 update 4.  Anyone know where to find the version that works with ESX 4?

  I was going to set up a cluster, using several desktop computers, when I came across the poweredge C6100 XS23-TY3.

  At first glance, this would be much cheaper with faster rendertimes (according to the scores of cinebench). But I don't know if all the hassle of catching a C6100 and running, worth it.

  While I'm a total newbie when it comes to cloud servers, I have several questions about the c6100.

  (1) when it comes to Windows OS, I guess I have to use Windows 2008 R2 or 2012? What is the best/most reliable option?

  (2) I guess I have to install Windows on each node?

  (3) and windows enough to make the C6100 upward and the race, or do I need other software as well?

  (4) as the C6100 has a sata controller, can I use an SSD instead of a SAS drive? And if so, is it also Plug'n play like in regular jobs or is it more than that?

  (5) if I have to install the software on each node, is possible at once, without access to each node separately? I am aware that there renderfarms, which consists of 3000 nodes or more. I can't imagine they have to the remote desktop of each node, in order to install a new plugin.

  (6) any known problems with the C6100?

  One of my clients has a T710 server which works OK as a server but there are problems with the USC and this feature is not usable, unless I fix it. Some time & effort has already been spent on it, but before we go any further, I just wanted to confirm that USC is essential to the normal operation of the server - as far as I can see, this is a useful feature that did not have many other servers. Obviously the client don't want to spend money on getting a fixed non-essential feature.

  The server runs FreeBSD, so the usual Dell Linux & Windows tools are not usable - iDRAC6 that enterprise normally works well that stuck at version 1.11 as the failure of the attempts to update via the interface web iDRAC.

If the iDRAC does not work then power systems and performance will be properly managed. It will take place at lower voltages and the speed of the fans higher to compensate. This will keep the system running at optimal performance.

  While the CDC is not necessary, looks that you are experiencing problems with both iDRAC, and which is necessary for maximum performance of the system. I recommend you all the issues with the iDRAC. In the process of fixing the iDRAC you will probably solve the problem with "LCC".

  I have setuped a collector (CentOS) server and the MIB file complete (10892, sotragemanagement, SMIv2-iDRAC, iDRAC-SMIv1...), using snmpwalk to collect information of agent (CentOS). On the agent server, I already have setuped OMSA agent, full mibs (10892, sotragemanagement, SMIv2-iDRAC, iDRAC-SMIv1...) and all the services work properly:

• Dell Server R210 SAS6/iR 1 Drive could not HELP!

  On my Dell R210 server, one of my drives failed. Inside the server, I see a HDD0 and HDD1.

  I discovered that HDD1 failed. I took the HDD1 and replaced by another drive hard (I'm positive that it is compatible)

  I started the server, but it has not copied the information to HDD0.

  I downloaded OpenManage and I see two physical disks to work. 1:4 and 1:5 (both in a working state)

  Someone told me to do the hot SPARE on the drop-down list to reflect the readers, but there is no options, I see any available task

  Help!

  OK, you use the SAS controller in pass-through (non-RAID) mode.

  If your main drive in management of dynamic disks no, then you do not use Windows mirror either.
