  Start the LaunchPad and hold the option key. The icons will start to shake and an X will appear in the upper corner of some but not all. Click the X to remove the application. Programs that have an X are only purchased/downloaded from the App Store. Integrated programs in Mac OS (like Safari) or programs you have downloaded/purchased elsewhere will not be a X.
