Dell USB - 3 docking station (D3100) video limits?

I bought my second Dell P2415Q monitor, bi-ecrans support and a docking station.  After I had it put in place and works, I noticed that the resolution on the monitors was maxed out at 2048 x 1152.  Each monitor supports the resolution of 3840 x 2160 and QHD + video in my XPS - 13 3200 x 1800 card.  After some research, I discovered this page 3 of manual docking station has a little graphic that shows that it is the best you can get with a dual monitor connected to the docking via HDMI.  I am disgusted!  What causes this limitation?

I agree that the sales site should have stated this limitation of the manufacturer. You should be able to set up like this =

D3100 DP on--> CDM DP cable--> #1 P2415Q CDM in (STD primary, page 33 and 34) = 3840 x 2160 30 Hz

D3100 out HDMI--> HDMI to HDMI Cable--> 2 # P2415Q in HDMI = 2560 x 1440-50 Hz

Hey out there, I'm trying to find out if the work of the docking station d3100 with any machine with usb 3?

  • Docking station Office attached screen HDMI "disappears".

I have a coming Pro (7130) that I use as a desktop computer. I have a Samsung P2770 HDMI attached bottle and rather than display running in monitor mode system "extend" with the Samsung as a primary monitor. My power settings are as follows: Plugged In (which is the normal state in this scenario):-turn off the display: 1 hour-computer put to sleep: never - put into hibernation after: never - leave wake timers: disable USB - selective suspension: enabled on a fairly regular basis, I'll come, move the mouse and the Samsung will not be recognized... the screen only I have is the display of the venue. I have to switch on the docking station for the external display to be recognized again. The keyboard and mouse (MS new Comfort Desktop) seems to work fine through the USB port docking station in this video failure scenario. I never had this problem on my Win8 Office which replaced the venue. Any ideas or suggestions? AustinTechie

    Brian,

Did what you suggested and all seems to work well.  Not having graphic problems.

    Thank you.

  • Can I use replicator or docking station with M45-S355?

Please I could buy dockstation or Replicator for this laptop? I couldn t find any information about it. Thank you.

    Hello

Tom is right. You can just use external USB, device docking station. Port replicator cannot be used because your camera has no expansion on the underside port.

  • Dell SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Docking Station model: D3000 lose 2nd monitor connection

My Dell SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Docking Station model: D3000 is connected to my Dell Inspiron 17R 7720 SE as well as two external disk drives, an external DVD drive, printer and speakers as well as an external monitor.  Recently, I took my laptop on a trip, and when I got home, when I reconnected it it to the docking station it is no longer recognized my external monitor.

I went through several stages of diagnostics not limited to unistalling then reinstalling the DisplayLink software and accidentally fell on the only action that seems to work - power omitting the Docking station (pulling on the power cord).  Unfortunately, this is a pretty serious action to be taken and the patch does not seem to stick, as I had my second monitor drop out after restarting my computer.

The biggest problem is that I spent over a week trying to figure out where to get assistance for the Docking Station and the DisplayLink software.  It seems that my only alternative is to call and talk to Dell Technical Support, but is very annoying because my work hours are with Dell Technical Support, but it comes to my personal computer.

PS another problem I have with the Station of host USB 3.0 SuperSpeed from Dell which is the rubber feet on my Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720 are outside the width of the laptop docking Station can be positioned on top of the Docking Station because it slides right out.

I thought I should update the Dell Community in the hope that a few users will read this BEFORE buying a Dell Super Speed USB 3.0 Docking Station.  I would update my opinion on the Dell site, but this is not supported by Dell, after entering a review you can not update.

Since my original post here, I've known some even more frustrating failures.

    1. Failed to connect Ethernet- My Ethernet connection failed, resulting in the loss of connection with my router and although obviously internet.  I made the important diagnosis and it is finally down to pulling on the power cord of the Station of Dell Super Speed USB 3.0 host.
    2. New router connection not recognized- I bought a router of Netgear R6300 WiFi as I bought the Dell Super Speed USB 3.0 Docking Station, unfortunately I can't the device works with the Docking Station in the loop.  It is with the Dell USB 3.0 Docking Station.
    3. -Speaker problems I had problems with my speakers mounted externally which I thought maybe Windows 8 questions but finally came down to problems with the Dell Super Speed USB 3.0 Station home, fixable in some cases of powerfailing the docking station.
    4. Lack of support- Want to know if this could be caused by the software support, I discovered that the consumer is caught in the middle.  The software providing the support bi-ecrans

In summary - I found the Dell Super Speed USB 3.0 Docking Station to be a totally reliable device with the announced characteristics does not always, including: dual screen, ethernet, sleep mode and support of speaker connection.  In addition the Docking Station does not efficiently, requiring two connections and not providing the simplicity with docking stations specific previous Dell machine.

  • Super Speed USB 3.0 Docking Station - no power supply laptop?

Laptop is on and plugged in the docking station which is "powered".  Connection to the monitor / keyboard and mouse is fine, however I am surprised to see a less power - plug is soon message.  Docking station is not supposed to power the laptop?

In fact, I think that what makes a docking station for a docking station, because it is a device that actually connects to a docking port. Thus the name docking station. A usb port isn't a docking port. A docking port is a single port that provides many pine so different protocols such as video, audio, usb, and Yes power etc. all have their own connections so that they can operate at their full potential. A docking port is not a conversion of many protocols for a usb signal, then try to cram two ways between the pins a lot less. And saw that all the "docking ports" as far as I know, have connectors to supply them, I do not see how Dell calling a port replicator a "floor" could confuse someone. I don't think whether a good faith error or another, simply tactical knaves in the marketing department to take advantage of what people believe to be a docking port so that they can make a nickel. Think that a wharf shipping, with access full power, fuel, water, sewer connections, the whole shebang. But rather a boat anchor so that you can anchor your boat to the coast, so take your time waiting on what ever ashore ship transport boats you can find the basket with a limited amount of resources via a limited method.

  • Troubleshooting external video and thread unique docking station

Try to group all threads dock into one video.  This will help me to collect information on what is and is not working there, and get it to engineering to solve.    I will edit this first post to maintain the all updated in one place.  This should make it easier to find information in the future.

Steps to follow before reporting a problem:

    (1) check the revision on your dock.   If you look at the bottom of the docking station, you will see a variety of labels.   The PPID label is on the right side of the group labels and will include a number of review at the end.   Make sure you have a revision A01.   If you A00, and if the video does not work after trying the remaining steps in this guide, please contact support and have your A00 with A01 replaced.

    (2) be sure to update your device to the latest version of the BIOS (currently the A11 for the 713 x) and A07 for the 5130.  For the 713 x, select the version appropriate for your product.

    (3) upgrade to the latest version of the video driver.   It is currently for the 713 x 3496 and 3366 for the 5130 (note that this driver 5130 is packaged in A06 chipset driver).

    (4) connect your monitor (s) to the docking station.   The preferred method is to use directly DP to DP or HDMI to HDMI cables.   Dongles will work, but note that the DP dongles must be 'active '.   DP ++ (non-active) dongles will not work with this docking station.   Passive HDMI dongles are OK.   Use dongles and cables of good quality.   Monitors must be HDCP.

    (5) turn on monitors and set up an external video via the options of the Intel graphics driver or the WIndows Devices/project option.   The 5130 will support the LCD + external display a screen (two screens can reflect the content if you wish).  713 x will support the LCD + two external displays (each unique content display).  713 x will support daily chained DP 1.2 monitors.  Two external monitors can operate at FHD (1920) and one external monitor through DP can support 2560.

    (6) at this point, your external monitor should work.   If this is not a couple of additional troubleshooting follow the steps.

6.1) remove and reinsert the cable from the monitor at dock.

6.2) to ensure that the current dock is good (the LED on the front of the docking station must always be on when power is present)

6.3) make this monitor has good source of selected entry and that the wiring is routed to the appropriate ports.

6.4) compressed Undock and redock to see if a change occurs.

6.5) 6.5) for tablets of 713 x, try to roll back the driver A00 video 3316 to see if that makes a difference.

    (7) if the video still does not work as you expect, please post in this topic with the following information.

(7.1) the confirmation that you have tried the steps above and that you have indeed an A01 docking station.

7.2) of the make and model of your monitor (s).

7.3) information (e.g. How is everything connected) configuration

7.4) If you use several dongles, brand and model of the dongle if known

7.5) problem specific (s) you encounter.

  • D3100 Docking station for Windows 8.1 (XPS13 2015)

So, it seems that this new dell docking station does not seem to work properly with the new XPS 13 (model 2015) provided with Windows OS 8.1.  I ordered 10 for our 4 k for monitors for hdmi output and potential users, but it seems after hours with support technical Dell that it seems that they cannot get any close to solve the problem.

The problem is that after installing the docking station software.   All except two devices are kept under the Device Manager as devices with no driver (Gigabit Ethernet from Dell, Dell USB Audio).  I thought that I could watch live without these two devices, but after plugging a monitor Dell 4 K I receive either out of my XPS 13 laptop.

I tried to download the D3100 drivers from the Dell website, but it is the same facility available at the installation of cd-rom and re - install is not updating the drivers.

If someone found the resolution to do that, it would be very useful.

I had this problem with a Latitude 7350 2 in 1 and the D3100 dock.  I'm on Windows 10.  This problem has been driving me crazy

I went to C:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software.  Go to the Audio driver file and CdcNcmDriver files and to find files with .inf extension.   Right-click on it and choose Install.

That should load the drivers that you need for the two elements.  Finally, this is what worked for me.

If you do not see the extensions, you must go into Control Panel - file Explorer options - View tab and uncheck the hide Extensions for known file types.

  • How to connect 2 Dell U2415 monitor on the docking station in combination with a Dell Latitude E7450 processor and controller

    Hi guys

hope you can help me out here. I plan to buy some E7450 processor and controller of Dell's Latitude for our company with a docking station and some Dell Ultra Sharp 24 monitor - U2415. Aims to use the E7450 processor and controller with the dockinstation and connect 2 monitors U2415 of Dell. the issue here is. What type of cable do I need? should I buy 2 normal display port cables? It resolution things to work with this combination?

  • Docking station for Dell Precision 7510

I have Dell communities very recently joined after I buy the laptop Dell Precision 7510. It's a great product so far, but I want something better. I want more ports. A cradle to go with it is the obvious solution.

What is the best laptop computer Dell Precision 7510-compatible docking station? My specific needs/setup:

-2 external screens (D - sub / HDMI, or for £50 in addition, connection I get display-port), screens may be more in the future

    -internet cable high speed

    headphone/microphone

-Sockets USB for mouse, keyboard, printer, scanner, external hard drives, etc.

I presume that the Advanced E-port replicator is the best/most appropriate. I just want to be sure of that, because my laptop model (7510 precision) is still very new and not all information everywhere put on compatibility. I don't want to make a costly mistake. I travel and will not be able to "return" the products I buy.

Yes. I contacted Dell sales... service and they told me that the Dell E-Port Plus II is compatible with my 7510 accuracy. After written confirmation, I advanced and bought a British supplier on Amazon for £100... but he came in a suspicious package and did not work well, and the adapter was the size of a brick (literally). I went back to Amazon... and tried my luck with Amazon Germany. You can get the original product on their part for about 140 euros, and it works perfectly. The link to the product:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/GP/product/B00A8ESOVA?PSC=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00

(it's actually UK, now that I check it... it's that I bought and it's good)

Basically, Dell has not updated its compatibility information yet. The docking station is listed in the check-out for precision 7510, but does not say specifically that it is compatible with this model. I had similar problems elsewhere too, as I want to install LoJack on my laptop, but can not find information about the question to know if my laptop model is supported by what is called the 'persistence technology' in the BIOS (which makes it impossible to uninstall LoJack even if you change hard drives).

  • Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB docking Station

I have a Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB Docking Station (PA3927U-1PRP) that I have connected to my Dell XPS17 laptop via a port USB3. Everything works fine except for the Ethernet connection and the laptop does not seem to see. Under network and Internet > network connections the connection does not appear in the list, but the connected network of light at the back of the dock is flashing, indicating a connection at least to the dock.

In addition, under Device Manager. Other devices, dynadock Ethernet is listed with a yellow exclamation point and says there is no driver installed. When you try to find the driver, it can be located anywhere.

I returned a Targus USB3 docking due to the same issue and now think that this could be a Windows 7 problem.

    Any advice on troubleshooting?

16/03/12: I called Dell support and they walked me through the uninstall of all the docking drivers, then relocation. everything works fine now.

    Hello

    1. it worked before?

2 have. what stage you tried to find the driver?

    3. are you able to use other devices?

    4. have you tried in another computer?

The yellow mark could be due to the possible corruption of the drivers.

    These steps can help you:

    Method 1:

Update driver by following the steps in the below link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Method 2:

    a. Click Start > type in devmgmt.msc in the search box, press enter > right click on the device and click on uninstall. And restart the computer.

    b. access the website http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp

    c. click on the download option and download the latest driver.

    I hope this helps.

  • E6420 not recognizing USBs when at docking station

New Dell 6420 running Windows 7 32-bit - when you are connected to the docking station, it does not recognize the USB ports. Ive connected my USB mouse in every usb port and nothing to receive. I connect it to the port on the laptop itself, moored and its recognized. My first thought was bad docking station, tried another (both are new) with the same result. I actually ended up trying all 4 together during my whole process. Ive done the full restart, plug back on and off the docking station with the same result. I tested the usb ports moored in the bios - the mouse is recognized in all ports. That's when the laptop is docked, in the bios settings. So I thought Windows problem, maybe a bad installation... I started Windows and now all but 2 usb ports on the docking station (or port replicator, I should say) detect the usb mouse and other usb devices. I also checked the device (while only docked and undocked) Manager the only thing Bell is an unknown device under usb devices (this unknown device stays anchored and detached).  Any suggestions on what can happen and what I should fix this... im trying to stay away from doing a full reinstall.

    Thank you.

WARNING: THIS MAY NOT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM (but there is an equal chance that it will be then I would try it if I were you)

    Hello

I just started a new job and had the same problem. I fixed it as follows:

    Go to the computer

    Go to system properties

    Go to the Device Manager

You should see "Network adapters" section full of "Unknown devices" for me there were two of them and two other devices with unrecognized names.

Right click on each one from the first on and select "update driver software...". »

    Select "search automatically.

After I updated all of these drivers and plugged the nano-receiver for my keyboard and wireless mouse in the dock of the computer finally recognized and let me use the keyboard and mouse, I use what I'm typing this message :)

I hate to see these tickets up on sites for years without anyone answering them that it's really frustrating, and not a good sign for a manufacturer/vendor like Dell. Hope everyone who comes on this forum with this problem is it resolved.

    Best,

    Mike
