Dell Wireless 802 1801.11bgn it will work on router dual-band 5 ghz?

Hi all

I have a Dell XPS 8900 Costco, Windows 10 i7 Setup.

It has a Dell 802 adapter wireless network 1801.11bgn.  This card will work on 5 GHz with a dual band router/modem?  Namely this one don't know if this link does not work there a

SBG6580 surfboard cable modem wifi router and
We have 2 computers, mine is the dell with the above adapter, and the other just has a dongle to 802.11n at 2.4 ghz
I wondered if mine can be configured to 5 GHz or should I spend too much and just get a cable modem/router which only works at 2.4 ghz.  Just trying to think ahead in case I update my card or if itself gets a new computer, I don't want to have to buy a new router to compensate or wireless card. I think that my laptop is also 801.11n
Advice?  Its comcast if it's a need to know.  Thanks in advance!
PS and how does phones work only on EVERYTHING and computers are so limited? (end of the mug shot)

This wireless card does not work on 5 GHz, 2.4 GHz only.

Buying a router dual-band (2.4 and 5 GHz) can be useful if other devices, such as a Tablet, can use 5 GHz. 5 GHz will be probably less crowded with your neighbor WiFi networks, but 5 GHz usually has a range of less than 2.4.

Price is usually why PCs do not come with dual band WiFi. In contrast, the two strips to a phone offers more flexibility when you're out and about. And these days, smartphones can cost more than the average desktop PC!

  • Problems of internet connectivity with Dell Inspiron 7520 (1703 of Dell Wireless 802.11b/g/n 2.4 ghz)

    Hello

I bought a Dell Inspiron 7520 for a week now, and I had a strange problem with internet connectivity since then. First, wifi takes a lot of time to connect. After, I'm online, every 10 minutes my network access stops working completely. But if I click on the network icon in the toolbar, it starts working again, but it stops in the next 10 minutes, once again, and so on. If I try to fix connectivity problems, he always find and solve some in the network card or wireless, but then point again, after 10 minutes, or so, it happens again.

My network card is a Wireless Dell 1703 802.11b/g/n 2.4 ghz and I tried to update and to re - download the firmware, but nothing seems to fix.

What should I do to fix this?

Hello friends. Recently I came across the same problem identified by many with a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop 7520 with the Dell Wireless 1703 (Atheros chipset). After losing an entire afternoon and looking at forums and their complaints, I think that I found the solution to the problem (at least, here is running).

The laptop is connected to a router TP-Link TL-WR740N. The router is configured to run with a frequency of 20 or 40 MHz, making the switch automatically in the factory. The mobile card wireless driver is configured to work only with 20 MHz at the factory. But can be configured to work with two frequencies is adapted automatically. To do this, change the configuration (in Windows 7):

Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > network adapters > Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2,4 GHz) > click the Advanced tab > select 802.11n bandwidth. Change the value of Auto 20 MHz / 40 MHz.

Press OK and wait for to reconnect you.

    I hope this helps.

  • Network of abandonment (intermittent and consistent) - Dell Inspiron 7347, Win 8.1, Linksys BEFW11S4, adapter Intel dual band wireless AC 7265

History: I just bought a laptop / Tablet Dell Inspiron 7347 (exchanged for another unit, see below).   Problems to maintain a strong connection and when connected, it is very slow.   When it is connected to the wireless router, it maintains a (slow) connection for 3-5 minutes and then craps out (restrict the connection with the yellow "!" on the WiFi in the taskbar).  He then returned to the top of 1 3 minutes later.  It's a coherent continuous cycle.  I tried to reset the default router with no luck.

All the other devices on this router (office, phone, IPad) all hold the connection without problem at the same time, this device is not.

Notable: Before I bought this tablet/laptop I bought an Acer Aspire tablet / laptop which had exactly the same problem on my network.  I returned the unit for other reasons (quality of construction etc.), but he had the same OS (Win 8.1).  I don't know if she had the same network adapter.

What I tried: cycling the router - cycling the modem - router the default factory reset of small animals - U-APSD deactivation on the network card - slapping me hard - offering to the gods...

What I tried to try: tried to update the drivers for the Intel card using the Intel drivers update (adapter drivers for Win 8.1 and Intel PROset wireless), but he kept time during download because... THE NETWORK IS NOT STABLE! (ugh!)

  • Router dual-band only invited E3200 access works

Hello, I am looking for help on my router.  Today my main band has stopped working and I can not connect.  I tried to change the password and am still unable to connect, and can't even get an option to enter the new password to other devices, even if the signal is recognized.  My guest access works very well.  Can anyone help?

Yes, the router behind router can be a bit confusing, but I think you're in luck because the E3200 supports bridge mode.

Simply follow the instructions to configure your E3200 in Bridge mode.

    http://www6.nohold.NET/Cisco2/GetArticle.aspx?docid=28cee6a2fb0d4176a2210942d1d5836c_Setting_up_the _...

The alternative if you want to use your E3200 as the main router is to set your modem in Bridge mode, if it is able.

    Help!

So why didn't it connects to your router on the 5.0 GHz band?

Did you have to do something special for your other 5.0 GHz Wireless N cards to connect to your router?

    Answer to?  N °

Then explain to me why you can't connect to the 5.0 GHz with the AC map Strip?

HP has put the designation of expertise because I have solved thousands of questions from members of the forum, not me.

It's not my problem if you cannot accept the facts of the case.

Of course, it's a card dual band.

If you want this map to be able to connect to the 5.0 GHz frequency, then you need to upgrade your router to router dual-band wireless AC.

  • -SOLVED! -PCI or USB wireless adapter is disabled and will not activate on Windows 7

    The solution: uninstall ZoneAlarm!

I spent 3 days and 3 different cards, trying to solve this problem. First of all, I bought a Netgear PCI wireless adapter. Installed according to the instructions. Device Manager showed the adapter works properly but turned off and nothing I tried would enable the adapter.

NETGEAR has taken over to the store and buy a Linksys PCI wireless adapter. Exactly the same problem. Device Manager, said the adapter worked correctly, but turned off and would not turn on.

So I called Linksys support and paid them only for the remote service and they couldn't get it to work either (of course to return money). They suggest is to contact Microsoft technical support or buy the USB version.

I went and picked up the USB (WUSB600-N v.2) version today and guess what? Exactly the same problem. Device Manager showed the device works correctly, but turned off and would not turn on. After talking to a few other technicians in addition to myself, we agreed that the only other option was to reinstall windows. But just before I decided to do, I checked one last time to Google and came across a post in the forums of Vista by someone who had the same exact problem, uninstalled ZoneAlarm and then worked their wireless adapter.

Well, I decided to try that before reinstalling windows. As soon as I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and the computer restarts, the adapter has been activated and automatically found my network! This means that ZoneAlarm control network on the computer and for some reason cards some not allowing a wireless adapter is enabled.

Then I tried to re-setup of ZoneAlarm. After that I have re-installed, my wireless adapter became instantly disabled and would not turn on again. So I uninstalled ZoneAlarm at all times. My router has SPI and NAT firewall on top of the Windows Firewall, so I need anyway ZA.

If you have ZoneAlarm, get rid of it. If you still experience the problem of your card activating Wireless does not and have ZoneAlarm, try to uninstall any firewall software 3rd - party that you have already installed (not the Windows Firewall).

I was really frustrated after spending 3 days with 3 different adapters and many trips to stores using the adapters and buy different cards. I'm glad I found this post on the forums of Vista, so the credit goes to the one who made this post.

On a side note, after I installed the drivers from the CD and Linksys site, Windows update has shown there is an updated driver on the site of Ralink which I installed it and so far no problem. My WUSB600-N automatically connected to the strip of the 5 GHz on my router dual band and speeds are ultra fast and signal is strong in a completely different room.

Hope this information helps others finally solve this problem.

    See you soon,.

    Matt

64-bit, but it should work on either. ZoneAlarm includes network connections and was not what allows the adapter to be activated. Even close ZoneAlarm does not work either. ZoneAlarm must be uninstalled from the card must be activated.

Vista drivers work fine with this adapter. Then a Windows Update is the updated drivers for Ralink which also work very well.

If you have properly installed the drivers and display device manager the device works correctly, but disabled, and then uninstall any firewall/antivirus 3 rd-party should do the trick.

I am a tech, more I consulted other technicians as well as paid for technical support of Linksys and nobody could understand this problem and it's no wonder. Who would have thought that ZoneAlarm or any 3rd part antivirus/firewall software would take complete control over network connections and not to allow a new network adapters must be installed correctly.

If anyone needs any help other than that, feel free to ask.

  • No Bluetooth on Latitude E5540 although Wifi works (Intel Dual Band AC-7260 BT + Wifi)

    Hello

as indicated, I can't do the bluetooth on my laptop E5540, although the chip works fine (Intel Dual Band AC-7260 BT + Wifi). I do not use so much so I discovered a few days ago:

Win7 showed an "unknown device" which was clearly referring to BT

After a round of Microsoft/Dell/Intel updates, there is no more 'unknown devices' but still no trace of BT (as you can see in the following image).

    Help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for the tips. I have indeed tried everything and more, but no bluetooth device was visible... I finally checked the BIOS, and we are here:

    SOLVED.

The question was in fact related to an option: "want you as the physical button on the left to control: wifi, wifi + bluetooth...» ». I probably suddenly unchecked bluetooth, there is no more way to power it on.

    Thank you

  • Driver for Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini Card

Have your Studio 540 desktop provided with Windows VISTA. I then updated to Windows 7 64-bit. The 5G band worked until the death of my old router.

I bought a new Western Digital N600 dual-band router. The problem I have is that my PC does not record the band of 5G, only 2. 4 g. NIC card driver dates back to 2008 (Dell) and the manufacturer (Broadcom) transmits the responsibility of Dell. Won't even talk about it.

My iPAD recognizes 5G so I know the router is OK.

Anyone know how to get the last driver W7 for this card? I don't see how to get it from Dell.
