Dell xps 13 restarts immediately after stopping down

Hey,.
I bought my new dell xps 13 a month ago to Microsoft online store and had with 10 Windows.
From the first moments, the laptop won't stop. If I try to stop it, it will stop down and a millisecond after it restarts already.

I checked devices (USB, tuchped etc.) for power management options does not allow them to turn on the computer and also checked for differences in integrity and found nothing.

What could be?

Thank you

Shahar

This has been a problem of knowing for a while... Do not know if he is connected to W10 or Dell...

Temp solution: press and hold the power button until the computer turns off completely. Wait 1 min and then turn it back on (important to wait at least 1 minute).

Long-term (!) solution is to transform the hibernation that is made in advance for your power management settings. The standard is '180 min', set to 0.

  • Safari restarts immediately after you stop smoking, or to quit the Force

I have a problem whereby Safari restarts immediately whenever I quit the app, either through the command-Q or via force quit. I can always restart my laptop when it's market (and Safari does not immediately restart after restart), but sometimes I want to close Safari to remove distractions or save battery. I disabled all Extensions of Safari, but that did not fix the problem.

An additional bit of weird behavior, it is that once Safari restarts after resigning, the browser window is hidden until I Alt - Tab to Safari.

I heard that the SIMBL plugins can cause this happens. The only thing I've had has SafariStand, that I uninstalled it a long time ago (and I see all the entries of SIMBL in the Application Support folder or in the activity monitor).

I use Safari 9.0.2 in El Capitan 10.11.2 on a Late-2008 aluminium MacBook (5.1) with a self installed 240 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy to share the newspapers/screenshots. Thank you!

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • Dell XPS 15 "display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

    Hello

About 3 - 4 times a day while working, my computer hangs for 1 - 2 seconds and I get a message saying my display driver crashed and has fully recovered. In the event log, I see a warning saying:

"Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I have a Dell XPS 15 10 Windows running with the latest updates. It has a Intel (r) HD 4600 Graphics and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M graphics card. I also use a Dell D3100 3 USB docking station, however I notice the issue with and without this used.

I tried to install the latest drivers for the NVIDIA card. I am currently using "10.18.13.5906".

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    See you soon,.

  • Dell XPS 13 restarts when you wake up sleep on the battery

Since yesterday, if I put my Dell XPS 13 9350 (10 of Windows) to sleep and wake it upwards again, it starts from scratch, applications are complaining that they have been forced to quit with unsaved files, etc..

It seems that this happens more particularly if it is on battery, when I wake up. (Either by the way, I'm pretty sure that this is happening if I put to sleep by closing the lid, using the power button or by using the start menu. It also happens if I'm going to hibernate instead of sleep, although I never this have tested only once.)

I guess this is due to an update that Dell update made a couple of days, but I don't know what it was.

I since drivers updated from the Dell site & also uninstalled the video drivers (which corrects this problem for someone else on this site) and specifically checked battery-related drivers are up to date, but none of it helped.

    Any suggestions?

OK, so I finally seem to have set myself (thanks to a post on Reddit).

    The solution:

    1. Make sure you have BIOS version 1.2.3 or later version; Otherwise, update
    2. Stop computer
    3. Start pressing F2 to go into BIOS
    4. In the menu choose the power management, then block sleep, then check the box block sleep upstairs

This command removes the option menu sleep start > Power (and), but solves the problem. Behavior, it now seems to be in hibernation rather than to sleep when I close the lid or press the power button, because it takes more time to 'sleep' and wake up. It is, it works.

  • Keep the power to the USB port after stopping down?

I would use one of the USB ports to plug in my cell phone to load from one day to the next off the computer. What are the steps to follow to set computer to keep providing power via USB ports after shutting down the computer?  I'm a novice so need to know where to find the place that controls the settings and what to click on. • My PC starts immediately after stopping off for a considerable time

My new PC will not start immediately after the power supply is cut off for several hours. However, it starts up after several minutes of trying. Is this a problem related to the power supply or other materials? I assembled just this new pc, and before that, it never happened. Here are the specs of my pc:

GX650 Bronze PSU CoolerMaster; Processor Intel i5 2320; Intel DH67CL mobo. 6750 2 GB DDR3 graphics card Sapphire; 2 x 4 GB Corsair RAM; Kingston 64 GB SSD; WD 1 TB HARD drive; ASUS DVDRW
My PC is connected to the mains through an inverter 600w APC.
Is it possible that it could also because of the connection of power supply of the pc case itself? For the record, the case is an old one that has experienced a recent surge that destroyed my previous mobo and basically almost everything in it.

  • Film restarts immediately after the car stops at the end of the chapter.

I have a problem when I export to DVD. I have 8 chapters in my dvd, and I put each of them to 'Stop' as the end action. When I play the DVD, and it reaches its first stop, I hit play and for some reason it restarts from the beginning, rather than continue to the next chapter. I can't understand why, and it's very frustrating. I jumped at the end of each chapter where it auto stops and when I hit play since it restarts from the beginning. Why? Please help lol

'Stop' as an action to end all done, it 'stops' the DVD at this point. So 'play' on the remote control again the DVD. It is not a pause button. And there is no way to 'pause' the end of a chapter.

The typical process is to go to a chapter selection submenu. You can set the link of each chapter make the button chapter following the selected if you simply press play.

You can create a menu for each chapter, such that, for example, end action of Chapter 4 goes to the menu "4 to 5." You have 2 buttons, the button specified in the end for Chapter 4 action, is a 'summary' or 'next' and goes to Chapter 5. The other button is "main menu" or something else.

  • Dell XPS 13 TrackPad issues after driver update

After updating my XPS 13 Cypress Ultrabook drivers for newer drivers published yesterday on the Support from Dell downloads page, every action (although still active) have stopped working. The trackpad itself always seems to work fine after the update of the driver, but no gestures work longer. They all worked just before the update.

I tried the normal game of toggle, restart, update. But if someone has had this problem or knows how to solve?

    Thank you

After much research and with the help of Terry B with send me a second XPS 13 and taking my previous one back to the laboratory, I found that the issue is actually with my Antivirus software. I use AVG, and I am at a loss to explain how, but I can restore scrolling and other gestures to uninstall. I can reproduce again lose its Setup again and perform a restart.

I am at a loss as to what why, AVG allows the driver to start and work properly by any other measure, however, I'm on the verge of scrolling of web pages for a new virus scanner!

  • Fan stays on after stopping down

    Hello

After have it off my W540, (most of the time) the power button flashes, the fan will run for about 20 seconds to 1 minute until the fan stops and the power button stops flashing. If I close the lid computer until the power button darkens, it will continue to operate the fan blowing hot air continuously. It happened that I get home after work and found my computer almost melt in my computer case. This is the case for most of our Lenovo laptops that I tested it with, not only W540. It's inrellevant if im in the docking station or not.

It is a 'feature' of windows 8. By default, the close button actually closes all your programs and then Hibernate the OS kernel so that it starts faster. The power button flashing, this is what is transferred to RAM disk (I'll assume HDD because it takes 20 seconds).

To resolve this, open a prompt (run as administrator) and type the following command:

    powercfg -h off

This will disable hibernation in Windows (it is not really necessary - W540 battery lasts forever in sleep, and it starts very quickly if you want to make a full stop), so kill the QuickStart.

  • Toshiba 46TL938G loses the WLan configuration after stopping down

    Hello

46TL938G unpacked yesterday, updated the firmware on the Internet.

Wireless set in place with WPS works, but configuration is lost after turning the TV market / back.
I can't use assisted because of hidden SSID configuration.

Is it possible to Setup WPS paste?

I recommend you try different configuration scenarios:

-try password that are more than 8 to 10 characters.
-Try different encryptions: WPE / WPA - PSK / WPA2-PSK (AES, TKIP or AES and TKIP)
-try to connect with prior authentication ON and OFF
-try to connect to the WLan using option hidden network - enabled or disabled
