Hi all! I am working on a Dell XPS M1330 computer for a friend. When I got it, it was equipped with Windows Vista at a very slow pace and was inflated with the PUPPY and malware. He had a few strange bugs too, as the fact that he made a high-pitched buzzing sound when he ran not related to the hard drive (I've heard of computers Dell XPS 13 done this before, so I wasn't worried) and the Control Panel does not open on one of the accounts. I decided to reset the machine, which was quick and easy. Then a problem arose. This morning, I had propped it against my laptop bag and I was in search, but I push the XPS in the process (he was on the floor), and he fell on my toe (OE). After that, I checked to see if she was okay, (seemed like a small fall), but the computer froze. I hard reset it and it had some serious trouble starting. I realized it was just because of low battery, so I plugged it in and it seemed to work fine. Then, 30 minutes later when it was installing updates and other it blue screened apparently without reason and says error: Memory_Management. I tried to restart, but he again projected blue. I ran the diagnostic in F12 menu, and he passed all the tests until the memory March test B, where Bank A failed. I tried to open the machine and change the RAM slots to see if one of the banks has went wrong, (the age or the slight decline earlier in the day), but on trying to start again, he would similarly refuse to start. He just lies empty and flashing the caps lock button. I ran the diagnostic LCD tapping powerbutton - D and who has worked, but all the rest fails. I even changed the RAM to the original banks, but he is still unable to do anything else. I broke it! Is it RAM, age, ESD, motherboard or what? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

The error memory is the likely cause of blue screen - and the hard drive could have been damaged in the fall.  the system starts with the hard drive removed?  If so, you could have found a flaw.  Try the memory modules one by one until the bad module or the Jack has been isolated.

The other big problem with this, is that if the system has a nVidia GPU - these are well known for not having.  If the GPU is nVidia, it is amazing that the system still works at this point - most of them will have failed for a long time.

  • Dell XPS 15 9550 battery not charging

I recently got my XPS 15 and was messing with the settings of the BIOS for the life of the battery.  I changed the Adaptive mode to custom loading, about 80 to 90% thresholds.  When I booted my machine, the battery indicator on the taskbar displays "connected, charge", but this is clearly not the case, as the battery life gradually decreases as if it does not load.  In addition, it no longer displays the estimated remaining time, but 'calculation. "... ».  I tried to return to the Adaptive mode, but it still has the same problem.  I also installed the Dell power management program to see if that helped things, but there is not.

Someone else has had this problem after changing the battery settings in the BIOS, and how do I fix?

Dell XPS 9550 last updated the BIOS:

  • Screen color problems with Dell XPS 15 on battery!

1 week bought a new Dell XPS 15 laptop, rear.

Config: Intel Core i5, Nvidia GeForece GT 540 M (Optimus) with Intel HD graphics embedded, 8 GB of RAM

The problem is that the color of the screen looks unreal, the color of the icons fade and look like whitish and 256 bits and faded color mode.

The main point is that the problem only occurs when the system is running on battery. Is the problem with the Optimus technology?

I have the latest drivers, it would be my course of action now?

    Hello

I bought the brand new XPS 15 1 month back and I had same problem

My features are Core i7 Nvidia GeForece GT 540 M (Optimus) with Intel HD graphics embedded, 8 GB of RAM.

But I disable the functions of conservation of energy which is shown in the below photo attached and after that I didn't meet with this problem. U should also try and give me feed back to this topic.

    Thankx

I occasionally rough of the DV editing in the field using my Dell XPS slightly underpowered.

Lately, the clock does not time.

    I have:

    1. replace the CMOS battery

    2. put the clock in the bios

3A started in safe mode and uninstalled the time/date function (what auto reinstall on restart).

    No luck.

It's probably something hardware or software?

  • (Redirected) Dell XPS 15 9550 - battery problems

Have been a customer for a long time of the Dell laptops.  Bought various laptops such as Vostro 1720, XPS Duo 12 etc.

    I bought the XPS 15 9550 on 27 June 2016 after costing a fortune.

Immediately noticed a problem with the battery life that is loading / unloading quickly.

The first time, got battery in full in a few minutes.  After recharging, at the beginning he said battery life is 4 hours. But the battery discharged within just two or three hours of time.

Since then, battery charges to the full in about 30 minutes and ends in less than 2 hours.

Because my laptop is still under warranty, I raised a ticket of support immediately on June 29, 2016.  Unfortunately until now, I didn't reply to Dell.

Please can you help solve this battery issue.

  • Dell inspiron Vista no battery not detected

My laptop has a battery down icon to the right with an X in it.  I can't use the computer without connecting.

To change the battery, see your user's guide the for more details.  My Toshiba has two sliders on the bottom that release the battery.  Be sure to turn the computer off before removing it.  I don't know that Dell would be more than happy to sell you a new battery, but you could probably find a better price in a local store that sells computers (Micro Center and Fry are good places to look) - just be sure to get one that is compatible with your laptop.  Under the 'normal use' (whatever it is) batteries last usually 2-3 years, but it varies a lot depending on how normal is your use!  I had 4 years of either, but I took out the battery and took place without her much of the time because my use was more often at home.  That could make me Sub-normal.  :-)

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • Dell XPS 15z: "your battery is temporarily disabled. If please shut down your computer and try again when the unit is in the operating temperature"

    Hello

last night, I was working on my laptop, I realize that my battery is low. so I put for loading... after a while, I realized that the battery is 75% charged so that I disconnect it. and my laptop turns off.

the laptop refused more late start... therefore I reconnected it the charger and the laptop turned on with the light that displays the State of charge (white light near the intersection of the keyboard screen) starts to blink in a cycle of 5 times... 4 times orange and 1 white time... and this cycle continues until I use the laptop.

and this message when I go to THE BATTERY option "your battery is temporarily disabled. Please shut down your computer and try again when the unit is in the operating temperature"my cell phone is outta warranty... what should I do? kindly help

    hchentanshankar,

    Welcome to the community.

I am sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue.  The battery is likely guilty, but you should check to see if there are any problems with the laptop or AC adapter / CC before you rush out and replace the battery.

I would start by checking the bios, boot the system by pressing F2 to enter the bios, you can also press F12 and select the bios menu.  Once in the bios look for the option for AC adapter warnings, if they are disabled they can and save the changes. If there is a problem with the adapter, you should start getting errors on the adapter.

If the adapter seems well, disconnect the battery from the system and turn off the laptop.  Wait an hour or two and then replace the battery and restart the system and see if you continue to get the message.   If you can run the laptop on battery only to leave the battery completely and then load it again and see if the problem returns.

I know that this may not be possible before you buy a new battery but if possible try a power adapter and the battery and see if the problem persists.  In this way, you can know if the problem follows the laptop battery or the AC adapter.

Please let me know what you find.

  • Del XPS 13 no audio device

Hello, I have a Dell XPS 13 and today it detects no audio.

The "speaker" icon appears with a red x.

And in the audio devices and devices Records, it shows that it is not any kind of device.

Also in the control panel > devices shows that it cannot load the driver "Intel high Definition Audio.

I've already updated the update dell drivers drivers page www.dell.com/.../drivers

My mother has the same exact specifications and had the same problem since the last update of Windows. We've tried everything, download the drivers with Dell system detects, manually get the drivers from Realtek, nothing helps.

We also had the "Intel High Definition Audio" in the device under 'Other devices' Manager as OP.

What I tried, and surprisingly, what worked for me is as follows:

    1. right click on the Intel High Definition Audio device.

    2. Select "update driver software... »

    3. browse my computer...

    4. just choose from a list...

    5. something like 'Show all manufacturers' (top option in the list, can't exactly remember what she said and I can't do this again now).

    6. then, in the list on the left, select Realtek

    7. Select Manager Realtek HD Audio on the right (the version of January 2016) and install it.

    8. in the installation, you should already see the volume with the red cross icon, changing to normal volume icon :-)

  • For the XPS M1330 NVIDIA graphics card

Can someone tell me for Dell XPS M1330, NVIDIA which(model, specification) graphics card is compatible. Dell is saying that I have to buy any motherboard but local dealer says that they can replace only the NVIDIA card, but I don't know which is compatible for the Dell XPS M1330 motherboard. already replaced 3 motherboard due to problem of nvidia.

Dell is right - there is no video to replace card.  The video chip is soldered to the motherboard, to be modified GPU failure.

All the nVidia GPU used in the M1330 share the same technical failure - you are just as likely to see the next Board fail.  If you really want to keep the system, replace the motherboard with the Intel-video version (you need a new heat sink as well).  Otherwise, no matter what the jury would cost to replace would be better spent on a replacement system.  Between the age of the system and faulty engineering nVidia this line of chips, it's a dead-end.

  • XPS M1330 error Code 2000 - 0141

    Hello

I use a Dell XPS M1330 like a laptop and main computer.  I turn off night but work on it fairly regularly throughout the day.  I was recently working on this subject, and he's locked.  CTRL Alt Delete did nothing, so I had to do a hard restart.  When it started, I got error code 2000-0141, does not not not my hard drive.  BIOS not found anything.  I off for maybe 15 minutes and then try again.

I can now boot windows... a little.  I can either start normally or repair mode (recommended).  I tried to fix the mode and he sat there on the screen for about 4 hours.  I tried in normal mode, and it loads in continuous (1: 00, still no start with microsoft windows bar continuously flashes).

So now I lead nowhere, but the computer does not recognize the hard drive now.  What is an overheating problem?  What can I do?  I'm working on my laptop, so I suffer serious withdrawl.
