Demand wireless distribution.

I tried to install my application on the internet wireless.  According to the instructions, I set up the MIME types, downloaded a JAD and a COD and tried to install it on the BlackBerry.  Immediately I got this error: 907 invalid COD: HTTP error 500: internal server error.

So I googled and found this: http://www.blackberryforums.com/aftermarket-software/114958-ota-installation-server-setup-2008-non-b...

The fix suggested I have rename my .cod in .zip file, and then extract the .zip file (who gave 2 more .cod files), and then download the .jad file and extracted on the webserver .cod files.

The suggestion worked very well.  However, I'm heavily confused.

#1.  Why did I have to do this?  Why the JDE creates a .cod file, which is really a .zip file containing the 2 .cod files.

#2.  Why were there 2 .cod files?  Is there a significance to this?  The application is really very simple (a clone of the IPhone app "I am rich").  See here: http://www.sqleffects.com/mystuff/rich/iamberryrich.jad

#3.   Is there a way to force the JDE to generate real files that I need to upload to the web server, without having to go through the circus of renaming files myself?

#4.  Is it possible to make a compilation of command line which allows to reach the points highlighted in the #3?

Thank you.

1. There are a number of topics to discuss on this forum and it is also mentioned in the Developer Guide - search of brother on these two sites.  The developer's Guide says the following:

"If a BlackBerry Java Application contains more than 64 KB of data bytecode or a resource, the BlackBerry IDE creates a .cod file that contains the brother .cod files."

You might find this thread summarizes important points

2. sorry I have not tried the app, but I guess that you have a large amount of static content.

  • HP officejet 6500 has no wireless

I have a new printer, which connects, print, scan and copy via USB with no problems. The reason why I bought this printer was fine for e-print and air print with my iPad. In the box and on the site it is said that it is possible. I followed the instructions, but there is no function to connect to the Internet, no light blue as described in the instructions. Under the menu setup, I clicked on the network, there is no wireless option, only 3 options available, see summary, Advanced Network Configuration and restore the default settings of the network. Under advance Setup, I have only the link speed options and IP settings. Me missing something, is there a wireless switch, I have not yet found? The function of the iPad is essential for me!

    Your 6500 IS NOT wireless.

No matter what you do, you will not see because wireless options that there is no interface wireless on this particular model.

Now that you know the problem, your next question - what is the solution?

You cannot switch the printer wirelessly with any card internal etc then here are your options.

1: USB cable to the computer. This is by far the worst of solutions, I will give you, but it works.

    (2) connect the printer to the router. It is the most reliable connection method, but is not always convenient depending on the location.

    (3) obtain a wireless access point. They are EXPENSIVE - so the solution to this solution is a cheap wireless router which has features WDS (Wireless Distribution System). I use D-Link TL-WR740N for this. There are 2 reasons for this model - it has what it takes, and it's about $35 in most retail stores.

Select the WDS as described in the manual. You don't need to make any changes to your existing wireless router - just browse to your router in the 740N and once it is connected, there is now a wireless access point. Connect an ethernet cable from the router to the printer. The advantage here is that the router and the printer can be on different floors of the main router, so there is no unsightly wiring, and if you want you can just hide the 740N behind the printer, and novbody even know it's there. And let's be honest, if someone said that you had to use a $35 for the printer wireless card, would you miss buy now!

In addition, now you have a router installed remotely to other devices, like a Magic Jack, who, by the way is a great way to get a line number and fax fax for your 6500! Yes, you can fax on it - it's my exact game!

  • WDS Airport Roaming vs vs Extended Network

    Hello friends,

In a roaming network, all airports have the same wireless network name and wireless security settings. If I'm not mistaken in WDS also the same rule should be followed. Is also applicable to a network of Airport Extreme Extended (1 main base station connected to a broader base station)?

If this is the case then a user can move freely between these extremes of the airport with the same user name and password in any scenario 3. So what is the difference besides the AEs interconnected via ethernet and wireless in 3 different topology?

    Thank you.

In a roaming network, all airports have the same wireless network name and wireless security settings. If I'm not mistaken in WDS also the same rule should be followed.

It is basically correct. Routers for Apple, there are three types of networks "scopes": 1) expanded that using wireless connections between fixed stations, 2) Roaming using connections between base stations, & 3) Wireless Distribution System (WDS) wired. WDS uses also all wireless connections.

The first two replaced WDS that was designed to be used only with the old base station 802.11 g. He has a major advantage. You can extend a network in a series as employed the use of a "main", "relay", and "distance" base stations. This feature is not embedded with the new models, elongated or Roaming.

Is also applicable to a network of Airport Extreme Extended (1 main base station connected to a broader base station)?

For the most part, Yes. The extended base station that's exactly right and the extension of the primary Wi - Fi network. So it would have the same network name and use the same type of security and password.

If this is the case then a user can move freely between these extremes of the airport with the same user name and password in any scenario 3. So what is the difference besides the AEs interconnected via ethernet and wireless in 3 different topology?

The main difference is overall performance of bandwidth of a Wi - Fi. Maintaining an extensive network using wireless connections only requires treatment of additional network traffic. This overload can reduce the bandwidth available to normal wireless traffic. This problem does not exist with a roaming network.

The other problem with a network extended wireless all is loss of bandwidth. Each added to the extended network, base station reduces overall bandwidth almost in half. Again, this is not a problem with the network of mobile type.

Finally, with a network extended wireless all base stations which extend to extend the hand to the same bandwidth it receives from the hand to this place. So the wireless clients connected to one of the extension of base stations will produce ever and when then are connected to the main.

  • Connect the PC through the bridge to the internet

I want to connect to my desktop PC for ethernet and I want to know if this method is still possible or whatsolution should apply here:

in the words, so I want to connect the PC to the internet, as well as the laptop

with the laptop is not a problem because I connect via the wireless, but unable to connect wired only wireless PC

so I have a router WRT52GT wireless (but what he cannot support WDS Wireless distribution system), I came up with this design to see if possible this method or should try something else?

It's easy on a Windows laptop.

    1. Connect the laptop to the wireless network.
    2. Connect the laptop to the Internet Port of the router (WAN) with an ethernet cable.
    3. Connect the desktop computer to the router's LAN port
    4. On the laptop the wireless connection in "Network adapters" right click and select Properties. Then, go to the sharing tab and share the connection.
    5. On the router, set the type WAN (Internet connection) on DHCP.

  • Update my wireless network device does not work after installation of Software Distribution Service 3.0

After the installation of Software Distribution Service 3.0 update my wireless network camera does not work how do I uninstall Software Distribution Service 3.0

How did you receive the update?

Was it via Windows Update or Microsoft Update?

Before the changes are made to your computer, the system restore points are made. This is so that you can go back in case an update causes problems.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. click on accessories

    3. click on system tools

    4. click on system restore

    5. click on next

    6. in the calendar that appears, select the one which refers to Software Distribution Service 3.0 and click Next

After the collection of certain data, the computer will restart, and the update will be gone.

    Hope this helps

  • Cannot send e-mail to the server... get alerts of demand... except on a local wireless connection

This had led me batty since I got the phone.  My mail server is on my local network.  If I send an email from the local network without wire of the pre to my mail server quite well.  If I try to send an email via the network of sprint - or actually on the network wireless anyone, he's going through.  I can sit here a my firewall monitor and the see through and I can also see it connect to my email server, so I know not that there is a good connection there.  I don't have any problems with imap works in any situation with the pre, so I'm sure something happens.

My firewall rules are the same for IMAP/IMAP-SSL/ESMTP/ESMTP-SSL (with just the ports change.)  I am able to send an email from my client of the laptop to my mail... Server and able to send an email from my Treo 755 p using snappermail on the network of sprint very well.

    The firewall is PFSense 1.2

    Really confused!

Done this, and it still doesn't get me anywhere.

But I end up finally solve the problem...

It seems that my server ident checks had to timeout... who was taking too long for the final customer... so needless to say I said to my server does not perform a check ident and email send accelerated time.  good thing is this speeds also send other things too.

Thanks halula for trying to direct me towards some additional info, but that debug information was not useful... • How better to create a wireless network

I just moved into a property where every room has an Ethernet jack.  I intend to wire hard as many devices as I can but I also want to create a wireless network that will cover the whole of the property.

There is no single ethernet jack which will result in only a single wireless router will cover the whole of the property.  What is the best way for me to move forward?

I have a new time Capsule and a couple of Airport Express.  Is it possible to use the Ethernet available in each room to create a unique wireless rather than Beach which extends from the time Capsule?

    How would I do that?

The 'best' way would be something like the following:

    • Where the Internet stream comes home, it's where the Internet modem should be located.
    • Connect a wired router only or your Time Capsule near the modem and connect it to the modem by Ethernet.
    • If this place has an Ethernet distribution panel which feeds on Ethernet wiring to the rest of the House, then connect the router or the Time Capsule to this Panel.
    • You can then place your AirPort Express base stations where you need a Wi - Fi connection by connecting to the appropriate outlet.

  • Tecra A11 - how to turn on wireless via batch?

    Hello people,

I have a Tecra A11-Notebooks here in our society. For our users, I am writing a batchscript that connects to our VPN:
    1. go to the wireless
    2. change the settings of the proxy
    3. connect the umts
    4. start Internet Explorer
    5. start vpn-software

I finished all features are waiting for the function to activate the wireless.
I think of flashcard-wireless. You can normally activate it with Fn + F8.
I can imitate keys race, but not the key Fn because it won't send a keycode.

Demand for memory cards middle is TCrdMain.exe, located in C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\FlashCards.
Is there a way to activate wireless with a kind of TCrdMain.exe switch or another program exists to enable the wireless function?

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me questions.

    Kinf regards,
    Timo

    Hi Peter,.

There is no batch to enable FN keys. This is possible only with the FN + F8 key combination and Flash Cards Support utility.

But why wireless must always be activated? The easiest way is if WLAN connection is always on me.
Otherwise, I would have no problem pressing FN + F8. Isn t it ;)

  • Wireless adapters not finding Win8 network connections

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion P6 2340ea running windows 8. I use a Netgear N150 WNA1100 Wireless Network Adapter, this adapter worked fine until the other day when I connected a Bluetooth of Plugable USB BT4LE adapter into the PC. The bluetooth adapter is windows 8 compatible, but the PC does not recognize the bluetooth adapter and the LED on the bluetooth adapter did not indicate that she was supposed to. I unplugged the bluetooth adapter and that's when I realized that my Netgear adapter had stopped working. I plugged the adapter netgear on another pc and it works fine and detects / connects to the network. When plugged into the PC indicated above is present on the control panel of features though but does not detect network connections. I am aware that USB 3.0 devices can cause interference and I don't have any of these connected devices it is excluded. I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers win8 to the Netgear adapter and this has not solved the problem, I tried other things are as follows: disable activate card, enable/disable antivirus/firewall, netsh winsock reset at the command prompt. I also checked the autoconfiguration WLAN service was running and set to automatic, which it is, then I tried stop and start the autoconfiguration WLAN service and I get the error: error 1503: service has failed to demand launch or control in a timely, I don't know if this has nothing to do with the problem?

I hope I've provided enough information and I've used up so many things to try as possible.

    Thank you.

I tried one last thing before your suggestion less. I started the PC in safe mode with networking, the device does not work immediately, I went into Device Manager and disabled and then activated the device and that he began working again, booted normal backup and everything works fine.

Thank you very much for your help, kudos given.

  • Supply is not even close to meeting demand

Tonight I went to SIX Verizon Wireless stores in Maryland, and I got exactly the same thing to each of them:

Call them. Ask them if they have the Droid Maxx in stock. Instantly, I hear back 'Yes', without even a 'let me look for you. Go to the store, and OOPS, we just sell our last one ago about 13 milliseconds, you probably stumbled upon the person who got the last of them, that you walk in the door.

Only ONE of the stores I called said they were out of stock, I asked if a lot of people asked their topic and they said 'oooooh, yes '.

It's disappointing. Verizon does not satisfy the demand for this phone. Apparently they underestimated the pent-up demand for a phone of heroes and their marketing efforts, because an Apple store wouldn't would be caught dead without enough of the latest iPhone to meet demand. It takes a special kind of skill for a retailer of electronics to rush through the release of their latest gadget in misjudging the market and do not produce enough devices to meet demand.

Is it possible that I can control this thing online and KEEP my unlimited data, or I have to go in a physical brick and mortar store to get a new nano sim card and keep my current contract? If it's possible, can I just order Verizon online or Amazon Wireless for Office Maryland VZW seems stocks about 2 phones in each store. I really don't like pay to have shipped, or waiting to ship or assuming the risk that it may get lost or stolen or damaged during transport, but it seems that I could not have other options.

Thanks for all the tips you guys can provide. I would also be very happy to comment on others who are hunting for this phone brick and mortar stores: stores how, in what State did you have to go to find your Maxx? And what day did you buy it?

    Thank you!

Today, I visited three Verizon stores in my area - all had them. The only stores I have heard do not have them are Best Buy and Radio Shack, but they should be available for delivery the next day by Ahead.

I agree that sometimes it seems that they expect no such demand so they do not simply store, but I can also tell you that Verizon gets usually the shipments every day. What I've done in the past, it is call a shop around 15:00 and if they have one, I ask for them to hold for me with name and (sometimes) information as a number CC, my VZ account number, etc. and they have always done that for me.

As for keeping your data plan, I believe you can buy the phone off contract and when they assign to your current number, you download moved outside your bundle data unlimited - but this also depends on the store. Apparently there's some ways to do 'good' and 'bad '.

When you buy from Best Buy and a few "authorized retailers" they usually just you will walk out of the store with the phone (which should have a micro-sim installed) and you can go to the Verizon website and change your device through its Portal, which should also you lose is not your data plan.

I would check these facts, but it's the way it worked the last time I did.

  • Ralink WIreless adapter N TouchSmart 600xt (600-600/t): problem w / 5 GHz 802.11n and DD - WRT fw

I really didn't have a good experience with HP support trying to figure why my wireless 5 GHz N is not yet detected by my new 600xt.  I tried to load the latest Ralink drivers and it made no difference.  There are a few settings in Device Manager on 5 GHz so I have reason to believe that it does not support 5 GHz as some previous TouchSmart users had trouble with.

This network is detected by my Dell laptop almost 2 years very well, so I didn't expect this.  My environment really demands N connectivity and even though I have a structured wiring all through my house, it is not likely that the location of this machine will get wired anytime soon.

I'm using DD - WRT firmware on a WRT600N router.  The DD - WRT software is a 2.4 version, but it's not the newest.  It is:

    DD - WRT v24 - sp2 (07/21/09) std - build 12533

If someone has already tried a newer version or more old firmware thanks for posting your experiences.

I had checked that the country in Ralink settings setting should be #7.  Nothing else seems not to apply to this problem.

I just got my 600xt the other day, but before I bought it I was wondering if 802.11n adapter that support 5 GHz.  It is my understanding that not all do.  I found a card for the 600-1050 version that says this:

    Integrated Bluetooth and WLAN 802.11b/g/n single-band (2.4 Ghz), 2 x 2 featuring MIMO technology

So I didn't even try helping with my band of 5 GHz on my router.  If yours is as well, so you will not be able to use the 5 GHz.

    Hope that helps.
