Deny access to files restored after Windows 7 clean installation of Vista

I have an external hard drive on which I saved my windows backup files.  After you perform a clean installation of Windows 7 (in order to minimize any problems!) I restored my data files, but now I get the message "Access denied" when I try to open more (but not all the files), I spent at properties-security-advanced options to right click tab and tried to enable permissions, but it did not always work.

I am logged on as administrator, and one of the strange things is I see four entries under the heading "power entities.  Also, when I downloaded and installed iTunes, it installed, but you try to start the program I got the message "access denied."  This happens with any of my other programs (can open the program, but not a file) and I just can't understand what can do.  Help, please!

You must 'Take Ownership' if the files and folders. Type that in Windows 7 help... If you find my answer helpful, please click the button "Vote as helpful"! Thank you! My Blog

  • Cannot get permission to access some files restored from a windows vista backup

Hello. I just installed windows 7 on a new hard drive. I bought the upgrade to windows 7 Home premium and I had to install vista on the new hard drive first then windows 7.

I have all my files backed up on an external hard drive and I used windows vista backup and restore to do.

I have now restored my files on my new hard drive using windows 7 backup and restore.

I see all my files and folders, but the thumbnails are missing and when I try to actually open a file, a message informs you that I don't have permission to access.

I tried to click with the right button on the files and changing the security, property, sharing and options, all to nothing does not.

I tried a few ways to restore my files too, but nothing works.

If I save a newly downloaded or created file (for example, a photo that I found on the internet) in the same folders, there is no problem and I can access, so the problem isn't that I don't have access to the records.

Another weird thing is that I can access some of the restored files, but no more than them. I can't think what it is on those I can access that should make them different from those that I can't.

So far it does not my simple PC! Can anyone help please?

I should add that I am the ONLY user of this computer, and it is not on a network. Previously, it was the same when I am running windows vista. This is why I'm the only person who should be able to access the files.

Same problem here after restoring a file backup of Windows Vista to a new installation of Windows 7. This solution worked for me: go to the command prompt, change the drive or a directory, you have problems with and type this:

    ICACLS * / reset/t

Edit: You need to start the command prompt as an administrator to do. Find it in the start menu, then right click and choose 'run as administrator '. Then use the command as shown above.
  • restoration of old files after the clean installation of Vista Windows__

How can I restore old files after you perform a clean installation of Windows Vista

If you have an installation clean back to factory settings, you normally wiped your hard drive clean during the process.

    You can try this program:

    http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/Recuva.html

Recuva is a file undeletion tool that allows you to analyze your hard drives or media cards for files that have been deleted or formatted. It presents you a list of files that have been found, as well as an assessment of their potential for recovery, a preview option, and a hex viewer to inspect the content. You can limit your search to files of a certain type (e.g. images, audio etc.) and choose between a quick and a thorough analysis approach. The program also includes a secure deletion option that allows you to permanently delete files that were found while parsing, to avoid any future recoveries.

  • no access to my javascript after window.location code

    Hello

I work with Webworks 2.0. I installed my project, do things in index.html (javascript inline code) and then I use window.location to a link where is another web app I need to show in my blackberry app.

After window.location, the code in the index.html file no longer works. Is it possible to use window.location and continue to use the code in the index.html file? (imagine that there is there any code to handle notifications of type push for example)

New value window.location move you to the next page. You must have a file/code js well be included. Your source code for index.html will not be available here.

  • Deny access to files in Dreamweaver

For a college project I built a Web site. We use Adobe CS6. I did all the work on a computer for College, but I have to work at home during the holiday to finish on the date limit. I copied all the files on a usb key and everything works well except 3 CSS and javascript which are related to the Web site. It's only the files that have been linked to Web pages and they have green names for some reason any. Screenshot:http://puu.sh/h67n7/7a52e1fd57.png for example in my CSS file, I got a template file css that I was referencing that was unrelated and I open it fine. When I opened the Web pages had linked to them css and javascript files I only get the html. I can't view or edit files in any program and I can't copy them. I tried settings all files on not only reading, giving all permissions and using the utility menu context of property taking. Nothing has worked. I am the admin on my system and UAC is disabled and never give the guests. Any ideas why I can't access my files? I can't wait to get all my work done in time.

The file was encrypted on the College computer, so you'll need to decipher it before copy you it to the usb key.

  • Pavilion G6-1d21dx: necessary drivers after Windows 10 clean install on g6 (g6-1d21dx Pavilion) Pavilion

I tried the HP support site, but I don't see any drivers for any available OS for my model, the g6-1d21dx Pavilion.

I did a clean install of Windows 10, but the Wi - Fi button does not work. Apparently, there's a pilot called HP wireless button that I need to install. When I do a Google search for it, there is a link to HP's download page, but the link seems to be dead.

HP allows us to download drivers more? It's frustrating, because drivers must be simple and easy.

Can someone please tell me where I can get this and all the other drivers that I might need after doing a clean install of Windows 10?

    Thank you.

Well, I think I solved the problem. The first time I did a new install of Windows 10, didn't have an Ethernet cable connected to the computer. This leads to all sorts of problems, including a lack of access to the Internet and some devices are not installed correctly. I reformatted the SSD drive and cloned my old hard drive, but that resulted in a very slow performance, then I would get errors every other time I start the computer (inaccessible_boot_device, unexpected_store_exception and kernel_data_input_error). In addition, the hard drive that I cloned has been running the 64 bit version of Windows 10, and I wanted to try the 32-bit version, because I want to use some software of old who will not run on 64-bit Windows 10 (for example, the Spanish dictionary Oxford SuperLex 3-in-1, French and German).

Last night, I did another installation of the 32-bit version, but with a network attached cable. This time, after installation and update of Windows, all my devices appear to be installed and working properly. This includes the Synaptics touchpad, the HP wireless button, the AMD Radeon graphics card and the Realtek card reader. I didn't need to install whatever it is myself, and the Device Manager does not display the unknown devices. In addition, installation completed MUCH more quickly with the connected network cable.

Conclusion: If you clean - install Windows 10, I highly recommend that you do so with a network cable attached so that you will have access to the Internet when it is necessary during installation. With fixed cable, both my wired network and my Wi - Fi network have been detected during installation. Wireless network connected, even my Wi - Fi was not available during the installation.

  • Windows 7 clean installation Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) on a loop of reboot

    Aloha everyone,
I did an install customized windows 7 on a new Western Digital 1 TB sata hard drive, which has been formatted, partitioned, scandisk, and a ntfs c drive was created prior to installation.
The installation ended safely.  I then install my screen reader, Window-Eyes, requiring a reboot.  After the reboot, I started to install critical updates to Windows.  On my fourth update and restarting, I got the blue screen of death, that of some people call a BSoD.  I rebooted and Windows itself restored to a previous state of good, of my just accept the default choice.  Then the rear computer works, but if I stop, restart I get the blue screen of death (BSod) is back, and the loop begins again, i.e. windows restores good condition that works well, until you stop, but on reboot - BSoD is BACK!
I removed the automatic update option, I disabled ScanDisk, drivers updated, bluetooth devices, deactivated sideshow, etc., without any positive result.  I called Microsoft for assisstance and the technician acted like this isn't a known issue, but he assured me that he could solve the problem.  He took control of my computer remotely and do not tell me anything except that the computer would check and repair any problem on reboot, and if he did does not resolve the problem, I have to remember.  The computer has rebooted without the BSod, but I stopped to check if the loop went, and it is not!  To restart the BSOd was back.  It is to note that if I put the computer to sleep, I get a clean start, but stop, restart or hibernation, I get the blue screen of death (BSoD)!
It is a Dell Dimension XPS 420 with a intel Q6600 processer, 3 GB of ddr2 memory, which came with OS Vista Home premium 32-bit.  The Vista system, the last time I got a BSoD has been for more than a year.

After researching this problem on Google, it appears that there is a problem without a solution.

P.S. I'll never upgrade a Windows operating system.  My recommendation for anyone who is planning to upgrade to Windows 7 is to try first on a dual boot using the free download.  If it works for you, consider yourself lucky and buy the upgrade.  If it does not, then remove Windows 7 and stay with your old system.

I see that others have the same problem as me, but there is no way to comment (that I can see) on the thread I've read.  After a lot of problems, I did a clean install of VISTA Home Premium (came with my Dell PC) and when I installed service pk2, all of the same problems that led me to do a clean install appeared.  I can't the computer to recognize and install the keyboard and the mouse of the blue tooth. (Don't tell me to contact the manufacturer, because they came w / the computer and say "Dell" on them!)  He told me that the enumerator does not work.  Then I launched Quicken, and when I tried to save a registry check for print, he gave me the msg "Quicken launcher has stopped working".  He was a key reason I did a clean install.  The only improvement is that I can at least open Quicken, which he would not let me do before.  How to uninstall service pack 2?

  • Error in access to files offline in Windows 7.

Hello everyone, I'm at my wit's end so I hope someone can help me.

I try to configure offline access to a storage server network for several laptops from client running W7 Enterprise.

Each user has an individual folder on the server that I maps to their systems first.

Then I click with the right button on the drive and check ' always available offline "and let the thing is Sync Center."

90% of the machines, once that is done, I can disconnect the network cable and then try to access the drive. It automatically displays the version of CCS-CACHE drive offline and the operation is transparent. When reconnected to sync LAN Center brings the server up-to-date copy.

For the other 10% However, after disconnecting the network cable, click on the drive generates the error message:

"An error occurred while reconnnecting G: at \\CompanyServer\ShareFolder\users\jones Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

-The cache offline has certainly created because it is accessible via the 'Manage offline files' option in Sync Center.

-Reconnect the network cable usually successfully restores the connection to the drive. It's only offline access that does not work.

-It is possible to configure offline access to readers of same using different customer laptops.

I was told I could "...". Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\xp_username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and move the pst file in My Documents folder.  It is a hidden file so you will need to activate the hidden files and folders. »

When I tried to do, I got as much as Windows.old > Documents and Settings > xp_username, but when I click on the "Local Settings" folder, I get a message telling me:

"C:\windows.old\Documents and Settings Settings\xp_username\Local is not accessible.  Access is denied. »

I get a similar message when I try to enter in the Application Data folder in the xp_username folder.

How can I do at this point?  Thank you!

It is a utility that will add "Take Ownership" to the contextual right click menu.  The download is on the following link.

    http://www.rizone3.com/?download=ownership.zip

It is a zipped file.  If you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip , which can be used to open it so that you can run the Setup program.  Then just right click the folder zipped, select 7 - Zip and extract the files.  When you're done, open the newly extracted folder and you can find the utility to add "Take Ownership" to the right click menu.  Double-click it to install it and then close the window.  You should now be able to right click on the files you need to access and select Take Ownership.
